"Zara?" Angela called out, her voice echoing softly against the polished wood of her door, ensuring it was indeed her older sister who stood before her.

"Angela..." Zara replied, her voice croaky from tears. Angela noted the tremor in her sister's tone. "Can I come in?"

With a nod, Angela opened the door wider and stepped aside, allowing Zara to enter. As she walked to her bed, Angela quickly tucked away the book into her bedside cabinet, locking it away as Zara perched on the edge of the bed. Time seemed to sit beside them, heavy with unspoken words. "Zara, what happened? Were you crying?"

Zara nodded slowly, her gaze cast downward. "It's... It's..." She swallowed hard, grappling with how to articulate the turmoil within her. "Ryan said we should stop seeing each other."

Angela's eyes widened in disbelief. "He said that?" She watched as Zara confirmed it with a nod. "Why?"
