Chapter 4 - Trouble?

Chapter 4

Trouble?

After the long conversation, the following week, Marco packed his bag and left the house. With his G-wagon, he sped through the streets. Jarvis waited days but no sign of Marco , and those days turned into weeks and from weeks to months.

Jarvis was able to adapt to his new body in this period, and also explored the mansion, and from time to time, he could recollect some of Jarvis' memories, some blurry while some were crystal clear.

Jarvis even found out that the predecessor studied martial art up to the elementary level, and Jarvis could still recollect the predecessors' experience.

Every day Jarvis found himself practicing the basic forms in the mansion's grand hall, the echoes of his movements reverberating off the marble floors. The practice brought an odd comfort, the heat from the extreme movements and the stress secreted made him feel accomplished every single day.

Despite the physical familiarity, Jarvis struggled to get the hang of it. But slowly, he learnt how to recollect all the moves.

While Jarvis was practising, three men wearing a black and white oni japanese mask and uniformed  were surveying the mansion

"Hey bro, is this the place?" The skinnier man said while putting his bat over his shoulder

"Yeah, this is the residence of the target." One holding a crow bar said while putting his hands on his waist

"Using a mansion to hide a target? Who the hell thought of this." The skinnier one said sarcastically

"Well, I don't think they knew he was targeted in the first place, big brother," the brother replied, playing with his crowbar.

"Hmm, well, let's get things started, then" the muscular man said as he put on his knuckles and adjusted his masks

In the evening, as Jarvis was just finishing a particularly intense training session, he heard faint voices at the front door. His pulse quickened.

A mixture of excitement and exhilaration surging through jarvis. "Could it be Marco? He was bringing his friends, right? Can I finally enact revenge on the Lycon Gang."

"Wait, Marco, I'll open the door now!" Jarvis said while rushing towards the door. Eager for his revenge, jarvis didn't even think of verifying it was really Marco and his friends at the door.

"Marco, why did you not call me before comi-" Jarvis said, twisting the doorknob about to open the door.

"Bang!"

The door crashed inwards, the heavy force coursing through sent jarvis flying back, his heart nervously beating in his chest. The three oni masked men slowly walked inside the mansion while brandishing their weapons. They stopped in front of Jarvis, locking a predatory gaze on him.

Jarvis could feel their killing intent as he made eye contact. "What do you want!" Jarvis said as he tried to regain his footing. The shock of the sudden invasion left him in momentary shock, paralysing him. He's mind became restless, trying to understand how easily he was invaded and what could happen to him. "These aren't Marco's friends. They must be here for something else, something i don't think will do me any good, " he thought.

"Looks like the little mouse is here," the muscular man sneered, cracking his knuckles and then flexing his arm, putting on a devious smile under his mask. His low, ominous voice made jarvis skip a few heartbeats.

Jarvis quickly propped himself upright and went into form. "It seems like it's non-negotiable, huh?" He's legs shaking from fear.

"It's nice to know that the young master of the most notorious mafia gets the memo" the skinny one said as he lunged himself at jarvis, he's crowbar grazing across the tiles producing sparks.

"Oh no, I have to dodge." Jarvis narrowly moved away from the crowbar, "haah, I dodged it. " Just as jarvis thought he had escaped, he felt a pang of pain in his left arm

Bang!

"Arrrgh, who did it?" Jarvis said with his left fist clenched and his right arm supporting the left, his veins protruding, and his whole arm numb. His arm felt like it was broken.

"Hehe, young master is that really what you should be concerned about?" The bulky one swung a hook at him, jarvis was so flustered he could only take a step back, allowing it to graze his jaw.

We're not done yet. The skinny one swung his crowbar with a lot of force aiming at Jarvis's ribcage.

Jarvis squatted and rolled over to the right, successfully dodging the crowbar. Breathing in, his mind was in turmoil. "These three men, They're moving in sync, I can't fight them."

Before jarivis could catch his breath the men pounced at him again. The masked men moved at one. A deadly choreography that sent fresh waves of panic through jarvis. They advanced in unison, with the same goal in mind, their movements were fluid with almost no gaps to take advantage of.

Jarvis couldn't help but feel the walls closing in, the huge room of the mansion suddenly too small, too suffocating. "How can I escape? How can I deal with the three of them." Jarvis thought hard he's mind still in turmoil.

Swoosh!

Another blow was thrown at Jarvis. The muscular man laughed "haha let me see you escape this." He's swung fist neared jarvis.

Jarvis ducked and the fist broke the glass windows, jarvis was shocked. One has to know those windows weren't ordinary windows but tempered glass windows.

Judging from this jarvis knew if one of those fist hit him he would be out cold. Cold sweat formed on Jarvis back, knowing he barely avoided the blow, feeling the rush of air as it passed just a few inches from his head. Jarvis stumbled backward, hitting he's back on a side table, his heart racing.

The skinny man was on him next, agile and nimble, darting in with a series of rapid strikes. Jarvis twisted and turned like crazy, his waist on the verge of giving in. Each movement was driven by instinct and desperation. He narrowly avoided a kick that would've swept him into the air, feeling the burn of exertion in his muscles.

"I can't keep on dodging forever. Jarvis said to himself, he's heart racing from the strain. The third man, silently darted around jarvis cutting of any chance of escape. Jarvis's back touched the wall. The cold surface quickly reminded him that he's been cornered, trapped like a rat in a maze with no exit.

Think, think, think jarvis think! He urged himself, trying hard not to succumb to fear.

"Hahaha, young master you have nowhere to hide. Why don't you accept your faith, and we'll give you a quick death."

Jarvis mind raced "I've got it" with nowhere left to go jarvis survival instinct kicked into overdrive. He turned around with breakneck speed he's elbow raised above he's head.

Bam!

He hit the third masked man squarely on the face, the whole force shattered the man's nose bridge but that wasn't what jarvis was focused on right now.

A translucent light appeared just above the man's head.
