On the road, Qin Piao and Luo Yang chatted and laughed, marking the happiest moment she had experienced in nearly half a year. She wanted to pour out all the whispers hidden in her heart to Luo Yang, to hear his opinions, but without enough mouths to speak, she found it impossible to fully express her distress.
"Niu Zai, do you think I'm a person of ill-omen?" Qin Piao asked softly, full of insecurity.
"Not at all. Sister Piao, I don't believe in that stuff," Luo Yang replied.
Upon hearing this, Qin Piao was deeply moved and thought to herself, "If only the other villagers were like Niu Zai, then I wouldn't have to endure their disdain."
In the time it took to smoke half a cigarette, Luo Yang arrived at Xiaoshulin Market.
Qin Piao got off the bike, agreed with Luo Yang on the time and place to return to the village, and then went to do her shopping.
