Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 First Actual Combat

The monster, stuck in the barrier, was moving slowly, which was the perfect time to attack.

Once it fully entered the real world, it would be harder to deal with—who knows if it could dodge bullets.

All the bullets hit the monster's body, spraying foul-smelling green blood. However, the monster only became more enraged, glaring at Wen Wen as if it wanted to tear him apart.

"Hmm, my aim seems to have improved a lot. I hit it from this far… At least now it's focused on me."

Wen Wen put the glove back into his gun bag, manifested the black gloves, and grasped the machete with both hands, his eyes fixed on the monster with a hint of excitement.

"Come on, if we're talking about monsters, I'm one too. Who's afraid of whom!"

"Roar~ Roar~ Growl!" The monster responded angrily.

The monster's roar was strange, resembling a whale's call, piercing and uncomfortable for Wen Wen's sensitive hearing.

However, very few of the hotel's residents heard the sound. A few might have heard a vague noise but dared not investigate.

In reality, even if they had looked, they wouldn't have seen the monster. It was almost invisible to ordinary people, only clearly visible to Wen Wen!

After a while, the monster finally broke free from the invisible barrier, its wings fluttering slightly as it awkwardly landed on the rooftop, its snake-like lower body writhing rapidly as it approached Wen Wen.

The monster's arms, resembling human limbs, had claws half a foot long like sharp knives, very intimidating.

The monster was targeting Wen Wen because their gazes had crossed, and it had been shot by Wen Wen, making him its primary target.

Wen Wen leaned slightly forward, his palms sweating as he gripped the machete. This was his first time facing such a significant threat.

Throughout the process of capturing vampires, he had never shown himself, and Qin Shuang's ghost form couldn't threaten him. But now, this unknown monster posed a genuine threat to his life!

Before the monster reached him, Wen Wen sprang into action, moving so fast that an ordinary person could only see a blur.

Just a glance at the monster's charging motion was enough for Wen Wen to determine that the monster was slower than him!

Just as Wen Wen had tested his abilities after gaining ghost powers, he had also tested his abilities after acquiring the basic vampire skills.

What he lacked was practical experience.

Wen Wen's form darted past the monster, his long machete leaving a one-foot-long gash under its armpit. Green blood gushed out, sizzling as it hit the ground.

"I'm much faster than it. I can win this!"

A twisted smile spread across his face, his eyes starting to bloodshot with excitement. If his opponent weren't a monster, people would probably think he was a villain.

"This is the thrill I've been searching for!"

Gaining superpowers and capturing monsters gave Wen Wen a thrill he had never experienced before, but nothing compared to facing a monster up close!

The monster's ghostly green eyes glanced at the wound. It extended its long tongue from its mouth and licked the wound, stopping the bleeding.

Then, it roared angrily and lunged at Wen Wen, its sharp claws occasionally tearing up the floor tiles.

"Can't you tell who's stronger? You're just a mindless beast. Even if you can heal wounds, I can just keep slicing…"

Wen Wen calmly stood before the monster, watching as it charged, feeling a bit eager. But suddenly, he realized something was wrong with the weight of the weapon in his hand.

"D*mn it, where's my knife?"

The machete that had cut through the monster's skin was now just a handle!

The monster's blood had a strong corrosive effect!

At that moment, the monster was already in front of Wen Wen. Reluctantly, Wen Wen jumped high and slammed the knife handle into the monster's forehead.

Even without a weapon, Wen Wen's strength in vampire mode was still greater than that of a top human boxer.

Then… Wen Wen was thrown backward by the monster's forehead, crashing through the rooftop railing and falling down.

"Ouch, my back."

Wen Wen clutched his back and stood up, feeling as though he might fall apart. Even with his strong vampire physique, falling from the fourth floor was still painful.

He glared at the monster in frustration, then transformed into a blur and vanished into the streets.

Yes, Wen Wen fled. Without a weapon, he had no way to deal with the monster.

The monster, losing sight of Wen Wen, let out a low growl toward the sky, then its chilling eyes began scanning the area, searching for new prey.

In its world, there were no such fragile foods.

Due to the gunshots and roars, there were no pedestrians on the street. However, there were surely residents in the nearby buildings. The monster drifted around, looking for easy targets.

Suddenly, a man and a woman appeared in its path.

"D*mn it, my premonitions were right. This new superhuman is trouble. They've already attracted a 'Netherworld' resident so quickly."

The man in a cowboy hat and boots frowned as he looked at the drooling monster, speaking with a headache.

"And it ran away," added the red-haired girl in a light pink sweater and hot pants with white stockings, shrugging.

"This is a Netherworld resident. It can't attack ordinary people without a period of assimilation, but leaving it like this isn't good. Lin Lu, deal with it!"

"Got it, Captain."

The girl bounced over to the monster, looking up at it with a look of awe.

Without thinking, the monster swiped a claw at the girl, its claws sharp enough to tear through metal.

But the girl merely bent her knees and lightly jumped out of the way. Her speed wasn't as extreme as Wen Wen's, but her agility was unmatched.

"Captain, this seems to be a new breed. Should we send it to headquarters for research?" The girl's legs seemed to have springs, effortlessly dodging the attacks while chatting with the man.

"No need. This is a feathered serpent. Its blood is highly corrosive, and it's not very intelligent. How many times have I told you to review the资料?" The cowboy sighed.

"Quickly deal with it. I need to find that new superhuman as soon as possible. It's too dangerous to let an inexperienced superhuman run free."

"Understood, Captain!"

The girl stood at attention, then her slender legs suddenly thickened by almost a factor of two, with clear muscle definition appearing through her white stockings.

With her legs thickened, the girl's speed surged. She kicked the feathered serpent in the stomach with a force that sounded like a hammer hitting a tire, sending the monster flying and bending a nearby streetlamp!

The kick's power was like a cannonball!
