The Manifestation
(In a narrating voice)
In the bustling city of California, lived a young African American girl named Aaliyah Johnson. Aaliyah was by far no ordinary girl she was a mutant with an omega level ability ; she possessed a unique and extraordinary ability—the power of verbal manifestation. Whatever she spoke of with clear intent and concentration would happen instantly. Unknowingly her world was about to change drastically.
One beautiful evening on her way from school she stumbled upon a baby bird that had fallen from its nest and broke its neck but was still somehow alive. Feeling bad for the little birdie she picked it up and said aloud " Poor birdy I wish it hadn't had broke its neck. Instantly a wave of energy bursted from her and engulfed the birdy causing it to levitate before her eyes…scared but curious she watched as the birds neck snap back in place and the wounds heal instantly and the bird fell into her hands. The little birdy glanced at her , chirped and then took flight into the sky.
From that moment on she knew she was different. "What just happened" she thought to herself as she headed home. "I can't tell anyone" she said to herself. So she kept it to herself as she walked home all the while think about what had just happened as she went in the house and up to her room. "What a day"! I can't believe that happened!
"How was your day honey? her mother asked her standing in her doorway.
Mom?
" I didn't hear you come up stairs… you startled me.
"Sorry honey I wasn't trying to be sneaky or trying to scare you just making sure you was ok. You looked at little worried about something..you want to talk about it honey?
No mom I'm fine just kinda hungry ….
Thank god your dinner is already made my lovely child..
Well I'm headed to bed kiddo… don't stay up to late… you know you gotta get up early for school..
Smiling back her mom .. yes I know mother
Alright see you in the am … sleep good my loving child.
As night turned into morning, the beautiful shining beautifully in thru Aaliyah's off white canvas wall.
Good morning my little angel , How did you sleep or did you even get to sleep last night….
Silence fills the corridor, tension in the air, thick like pancake batter.
I will have you know mother I did get some rest …much deserved rest. (cutting her eyes at her mother)
Lyiah!!!…. (Her father yells)
Yes dad…
Rise and shine butter cup…. Let's get this show on the road, it's 7:55 am let's go!!!
So Aaliyah got up and started getting ready to go to school.
Thinking to herself, she thought man sometimes I hate school. I wish school did start at a later date, and then a shimmering wave of energy dispersed and resonated over the room,
Ok honeybun I'm off to work he plants a wet juicy kiss on Aaliyah cheeks and pecks his wife on the forehead…" love you dear." See you when you return home. "Aight mom i love to stay and chat but I'm headed to school" talk to you later…and shae bolted out the door.
Looking at her watch she was already late.
As she paused and the a light bulb turned on.
Duh!!! She thought to herself.She focused her intent and will power and uttered the words.
"I'm faster than the speed of light" she said aloud with conviction and clear intent..then in clear wave of intent and energy brushed over her she started generating static electric out of no where then a buildup of adrenaline and anticipation is at its peak. Then in a flash she is gone … Wooohooo she screamed as she ascended up the side skyscraper building. As she speedily says while concentratioing on what she is about to say
…"I can jump and glide great distances with minimal effect and without any residual damage to my body from impact". and just as she reaches then top of the skyscraper leader , she jumping off of the wall with little effort catapulting herself hundreds of kilometers forward in a matter of seconds.
While gliding thru the air she wanted to test the parameters of her latent ability.
Descending from the sky she is focued and concentrating she say" I will land like a cat gracefully and silently" as the wave of shimmering energy resonates from her manifestation, she quietly and quickly land on her feet and hands exactly like a feline. "WHOA.... I DID IT"!!
"This ability is incredible….anything I want is mine for the taking…"I'm going to use this ability to protect those in need of saving."To make this world a better place.
So as she walks along the sidewalk and looks down an alleyway, she see three kids picking on a little boy.
She approaches and she says "you better stop picking on him or you will be sorry"
.The buillies turn at Aaliyah and asked "who the fuck are you? If you don't wanna end up like this guy I suggest you run along before you find your self in some big trouble. "Oh really, "Do you guys like birds?" Well I do and in a intense moment of concentration says I can communicate with the bird." Then as it shimmery haze in front of Aaliyah, she looks up and sees flock of crows, with a mere thought she summons the birds to attack the boys and in an instant out the corner of her eyes she see another kid approaching .
The swarm of birds are swooping down at the bullies and began to attack the bullies. The boys are bombarded by the sheer numbers of birds….then out of no where the winds around me and the assault of birds is getting strong and unpredictable and in a instant the gust of winds swoop the birds inn a upwards motion and the changes in a cyclone and then dispersed the birds in all directions like someone with air bending powers was causing that to happened. I looked around and that's when I noticed this young Caucasian male across from me.
I noticed his eyes changed from solid white back to a light green…
"You were the one doing that weren't you , making the wind move like that?"
Yeah just you was causing the birds to attack those boys like that…
They wouldn't stop picking on this little boy so I made them!
(Smiling back at her) Well I will tell my brothers about those kinda things…what's your name girly?
"Aaliyah Johnson and…..your name is ….
"Kaelan Stormbringer" nice to meet you…Aaliyah so what is your ability?
"Excuse me"
What is your mutant ability?
Verbal manifestation! …And you?
I'm a Elemental ….meaning …..
(Finishing his sentence )"control and manipulate the elements" I've heard of people who could do those kinds of things…incredible…
"Are you new here Ms. Johnson?"
Yes I guess you can say that
Welcome to New Haven…..oh and keep it hush hush about the mutant stuff… or you will be locked away or even worse…you never know who is who around these parts, I gotta go I would like to chat more about our mutation another time but hopefully I will see you around. Then kaelan ran and jumped on what looks like to be a hovering cloud of some sort and took off with a gust of wind that was so powerful it almost knock me on my feet. So I gathered myself and headed on in to school thinking about Kaelan and his elemental powers.
