Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 - undead

20:53

Callie returned from her routine patrol around the village. Walking on the dark, misty streets of Caligo village, Callie saw a horse-drawn carriage stop in front of the village chief's place.

He then rushed to that place.

Arriving there, he asked the village chief and found that these people were the help they asked Misthaven for.

They were lost for several days because of the thick fog that appeared at night and also the disturbance of wild creatures.

"It was quite late Mr. Fort already dealt with the creature"

"By the way where is he?"

Walking away from the village chief's house, he asked where Fort was, in her mind.

...

Arriving in front of the house, Callie opened the door.

"Sisters is home"

Callie Speaks with a tired expression.

From inside the house, his sister ran and hugged Callie.

"You know~ I can make my food now"

His sister spoke excitedly.

Cellie also responded to her sister's words

"Good~"

At that time his younger sisters remembered the letter the person had given him.

The little girl then took the letter which she had placed on the table.

"There was a strange brother who gave me a letter earlier."

"Letter? " Callie asked curiously.

After giving the letter, his sister then returned to the house.

On the other hand, Callie opened the package of letters. Reading the letter, Callie had an expression of shock and disbelief, her mouth opened slightly. "Sister, don't go anywhere, okay? I have something to do for a moment."

Callie closed the door and ran towards the village chief's house. Hoping the help hadn't left, Callie opened the door to the village chief's house while coughing. " Fort might be in danger, sir!"

Hearing that the village head and two people were dressed in black robes and dark blue suits. Looked at Callie and swiftly stood up...

.....

On the other hand, Fort hid behind the hallway followed by the Undead called by Madam Mourch.

He grasped the Iron Emblem.

Hoping something will happen. But after a while nothing happened.

("Come on!! ")

At that moment Fort heard a scary girl's laughter.

Looking at the hallway in front of him, he found the Undead crawling on the roof of the hallway quickly towards the Fort.

Seeing this, Fort then ran in the opposite direction from the creature; he took the path down to the 1st floor.

When he reached the first floor he hid behind a pillar.

Not long after that, the creature appeared, destroying the stone wall that separated them...

"Where are you? " Her eerie voice was echoing inside the mansion. She crawled on the floor, looking in the direction Fort was hiding in.

"Found you!" She screamed in Fort's direction and crawled to Fort's position. Destroying pillars he hiding in.

At that critical moment, a soft whisper came to Fort's ears.

"Binding Time"

Followed by the appearance of the creature's face. Fort rolled forward to avoid the blow from the Undead.

Holding the revolver in his right hand he hesitated to shoot.

I had 4 bullets left in this revolver, and after a few missed shots, I was finished.

Followed by that thought Fort got another whisper.

cum old venia, per hoc Emblematum, temporis plasmatorem, Deum rerum, Binding Time

The iron emblem on his left hand reacted by vibrating slightly.

Seeing that, Fort couldn't help but have to try chanting the Mantra.

...

Dodging the attack a second time, Fort gripped the Emblem hard.

The creature let out a loud, ear-splitting roar.

Luckily Fort covered his ears in time.

In the next 2 seconds, Fort fires 2 bullets

Bang bang.

The two shots hit the creature's left arm and one of its legs.

Paralyzed him for a while.

With the opportunity he had Fort Chanted the spell he heard before

"cum old venia, per hoc Emblematum, temporis plasmatorem, Deum rerum, Binding Time !"

The emblem then took root in Fort's hand giving him unimaginable pain.

But in the next three seconds, the pain subsided. followed by the emergence of Iron chains from cracks in the air.

Iron Chains bound and restrained the entire body of the Undead.

See the opportunities before your eyes. Fort aimed his revolver at the Undead's head.

Pulled the trigger and...

Shooting bullets.

Bang!

The creature's head was crushed once again, followed by a roar from it...

In a calm state, he will succeed in killing the creature for the second time.

However, in the next second, the creature slowly grew its head back.

Each part grows back little by little.

Thinking the only option he had was to run away, fort couldn't help but look for a chance to run.

However...

As soon as he turned around he wanted to leave the Mansion. His head was hit with deep pain.

It was the same as how he felt when he was about to use 'Binding Time'.

At the same time, the Emblem rooted in Fort's hand broke free.

Adding to the pain he was suffering.

With that, Fort fell to his knees in extreme pain.

Fort began to lose consciousness when he was completely lying down.

What he saw was that the chains binding the Undead began to dissipate into light dust.

"What I did was ridiculous"

"Ha ha"

Fighting alone without considering the dangers I would face. So careless

Moments before completely losing consciousness, Fort witnessed the sky darken and the moonlight turn blood red, followed by the howling of a wolf, and the feet of two people standing in front of his body.

....

"Huftt!" Opening his eyes he saw that the Mourch Mansion had been destroyed as badly as possible.

He saw himself still intact, leaning against a tree at the end of the road right in front of the Mourch Mansion.

"Are you okay?"

Turning towards the voice he saw a man in his 19s,

He wore dark and navy clothes.

The person then introduced himself as 'Church Assistance' even though they arrived quite late.

Not long after, another figure came out of the ruins of the Mourch Mansion and spoke to the man beside the Fort

"She might have run away"

"The signs of the undead are also very clear"

The man beside Fort nodded and then replied to the woman's words.

"Leave him alone, further investigation will be carried out by other parties"

Glancing at the Fort, the person who came out of the Mansion ruins said

"Thank your friend, he got your letter in time and warned us."

("Friend?Celiaa?")

Next, he and the woman introduced themselves properly.

"Forgive my previous introduction, I am Ignis Draco"

"And this person is Stella Solis" Being introduced by her colleague, Stella looks at Fortis with a curious expression before turning her gaze to Ignis again.

"We are from Misthaven, help requested"

"Well... Even though we arrived quite late"

The man chatted for some time. Meanwhile, he reached into his pocket to find "Binding Time" in his pocket. Relieved about that, Fort then stands up before checking everything he brings still with him, not only because this place will be investigated by "other parties." It's the only proof he was fighting inside.

It will at least make me seem to be an ordinary person and maybe even avoid being monitored in the future by the Church.

After a few seconds Fort dared to ask "You guys mentioned that you were help from the church" ..... "But what kind of help are you really?"

Hearing a question like that, Stella immediately opened her mouth to answer, but was quickly interrupted by Ignis

"That's a matter for the Church"

"..."

Fort expected this kind of answer, not expecting his question to get a direct answer.

He knew it was impossible for such an important question to receive an immediate response.

Not a few seconds later Ignis answered Fort again.

"But if you want to know, come to the cathedral of Light in Misthaven, ask people around, they will know."

Hearing the answer from her colleague, Stella suddenly turned around.

After that the two of them argued once again...

A few minutes later they came to an agreement. With Stella crossed her arms.

The two then turn their gaze to Fort before Ignis asks.

"Your name is Fort, right?"

Ignis asked

"Correct"

Fort answered.

"Okay Fort, if you want to come with us on the train to Misthaven"

"Right, Stella? "

Stella, with a slightly disapproving face, forced herself to nod her head

Seeing that Fort felt he would have a decent chance in the Royal City.

So in the end he agreed to Ignis and Stella's invitation

"We will leave in the morning, don't be late,"

Ignis reminded

,"Meet us at the village exit"

Stella also informed.

After that, Ignis, Stella, and Fort left the Mansion and went to the village. While walking away from the ruin of Mourch mansion Fort felt goosebumps on his shoulder.

Wind blowing in front of their path, the crow's voice still echoing in the darkness while the crow itself was nowhere to be seen. I'm still wondering who that shadow is in Madam Mourch's painting. Before his thoughts were changed into Who's Voices is that? The voice he heard while fighting with undead apparently still haunting Fort.

After doing those "Sixth sensed" Potion, he often hears this kind of voice. Fort then has thought about the old book where he found this "potion." Inside of it, there must be some answers to this. Fort then gained the spirit to translate that books again.

....

At Will Morgan's house.

They talked for a while with the village chief and Callie.

Fort thanks Callie for finding his letter in time.

After a conversation about the inciden,t, Ignis and S,tella inform him that the threat has been resolved.

And that this village is safe from torture every night...

...

At his rental, house, Fort stares at the Revolver and the emblem that the voice calls "Binding Time"

He wondered why Madam Mourch did cannibalism... Even to her own husband

Various questions passed through Fort's head which he resignedly let go because there was no way to find out.

After taking a bath he calculated a total of 2 days and 2 nights he spent 4 silver coins out from his 50 coins.

Calculated from today. Then it would be 6 silver coins, not to mention the food at that time, and I only have 48 silver coins now. So, after paying the rent, I only have 42 silver coins left...

Fort felt that he needed to find a way to earn money in the city, and it was necessary as soon as possible, there were still plenty of coins, but it would be running out soon.

...

In the morning

Fort got up and packed his things. He didn't bring much and only clothes, without a bag he didn't even have one.

Not forgetting the Revolver, Binding Cloud, and the items he found in the castle ruins, he brought them all, including antique books.

Afterwards he took a shower and ate the bread he had saved from the previous day.

After that he paid the rent to Callie and said goodbye to Village Chief Will and Callie little sister ...

When he arrived at the exit he met Stella who asked him a question with a dismissive expression.

"That's all you have?"

Stella asked.

"Yeah... I don't have a bag and this is all I have."

Fort answered.

Without asking too many questions, Stella then laughed a little before getting into the horse-drawn carriage.

Let's see later. Fort muttered.

He felt a little belittled, even though he knew their mystical powers and knowledge were far apart.

Next, Fort gets on the train followed by Ignis...

Sitting facing each other, Stella and Fort both looked away Ignis who was sitting next to Stella,

Seeing that he could only sigh...
