THIRD PERSON POV
"So, where should I start ?"
Alexander's voice was like a razor's edge, cutting through the silence in the meeting room his gaze sweeping over the assembled elders, his eyes blazing with anger.
The supernatural committee elders wise and powerful men and women bowed their heads in respect, their faces pale but beautiful .They knew that Alexander's wrath was not to be dealt with that he would stop at nothing to avenge his mate's suffering.
"I left for only a day," Alexander continued, his voice low and deadly, "and come back to meet my mate severely wounded. Who dared to touch him?"
The room was silent the only sound is the soft rustling of the elders' robes as they shifted uncomfortably in their seats.
"Who?" Alexander demanded, his voice rising, his eyes blazing with fury.
"Your Majesty, we didn't know he was your mate," Elder Tholos said.
Alexander's gaze turned cold, his eyes flashing with anger. "But you all knew I had personally picked him as my personal servant," he said with his voice dripping in venom. "You knew he was under my care."
"Yes, Your Majesty, but he is a slave and he broke the rules. He was to be punished but lady Victoria did nothing"Another Elder, Elder Samuel said.
Alexander's face twisted in rage. "Punished? You call this punishment?" he spat, his voice rising. "My mate is human and he has still not waken up since three days. And you are telling me not to kill the person involved? I should be killing all of you present too, because you all were present."
Elder Lina spoke up, her voice soft but laced with fear. "Your Majesty, with all due respect, Lady Victoria was your betrothed. You killed her without trial or judgment."
Alexander's gaze turned icy, . " I had never agreed to that betrothed thing," he snarled.
"Your mate is human, as you said, Your Majesty," Elder Samuel began, his voice laced with disdain. "He can't be our leader. He's weak and not fit to be by your side so I suggest that you should rejec."
Before Elder Samuel could finish his statement, Alexander had used his vampire speed to close the distance between them. He grasped Elder Samuel's neck, his fingers tightening around it.
"Complete your statement, I dare you," Alexander snarled, his eyes blazing with fury.
"Your Majesty!" Elder Tholos, the head elder, shouted, stunned to see Alexander put his hands on an elder. "Release him, Alexander!"
Alexander's gaze turned to Elder Tholos, his eyes flashing with anger. "You dare tell me what to do, Tholos?" he spat. "After what your precious elders did to my mate?"
Elder Tholos took a step back, his eyes wide with fear. "Alexander, please...think of the consequences."
Alexander's grip on Elder Samuel neck tightened. "Consequences?" he repeated, his voice dripping with venom. "You want to talk about consequences? My mate is lying in a bed, unconscious, because of your actions. And you dare to question my judgment?"
The room fell silent, the elders exchanging nervous glances. They knew they were in grave danger.
{DREAM}
Nikolas walk through the forest, his feet aching and his body tired. He had been walking for hours or days he did not know as he had lost count of time. The trees seemed to blur together, their branches tangling above him like skeletal fingers.
As he walked Nikolas' thirst grew more his dry mouth parched and cracked. He had not eaten or had a drink in what felt like an eternity. His stomach growls protesting against the emptiness.
Just when Nikolas thought he couldn't go on, he heard the gentle sounds of a stream. He stumbled towards the sound, his legs trembling with exhaustion.
He reached the stream's edge, Nikolas dropped to his knees cupping his hands to scoop up the cool, clear water. He drank greedily, feeling the liquid revive his throat but as he lifted his head to take another sip, the stream's surface suddenly changed and foamed as the water turned a deep bloody red color. Nikolas' heart raced with fear.
Before he could even react a hand shot out of the water its fingers closing around his ankle Nikolas tried to shake off the grip, but it only tightened, dragging him into the stream.
He struggled and kicked, but the hand pulled him down, down into the depths of the water. Nikolas' lungs burned as he was submerged, the red water closing over his head like a shroud.
As Nikolas was dragged deeper he saw a figure looming in the darkness, its eyes glowing with an otherworldly light. He tried to scream, but his voice was muffled by the water.
The hand pulled him deeper, deeper into the water and Nikolas felt a sense of dread wash over him. He was trapped, helpless, and at the mercy of some malevolent force.
Nikolas' vision began to fade, his consciousness slipping away. He was alone, abandoned, and adrift in a sea of terror.
And then, everything went black.
Nikolas' eyes fluttered open again and he found himself in a clearing surrounded by towering trees that seemed to stretch up to the sky. A figure stood at a very far distance dressed in a black hood, its face covered from viewing, as Nikolas struggled to his feet the hooded figure suddenly appeared before him, its movements swift.
Nikolas' heart raced as the figure reached out a bony hand and touched his chest.
At first, there was no pain just a strange tingling sensation but then, Nikolas' back erupted in agony as if his skin was being burned alive. He fell to his knees, screaming in torment.
"Who are you?" Nikolas begged, his voice hoarse from pain. "What do you want?"
The hooded figure didn't respond, its face hidden in the shadows. Instead, it reached out a hand again its touch igniting a fresh wave of agony.
Nikolas writhed on the ground, his screams echoing through the clearing. "Please," he begged, " make it stop."
But the figure didn't relent, its touch burning with an otherworldly intensity. Nikolas' vision began to blur, his consciousness slipping away the darkness closing in, Nikolas heard a faint whisper in his ear. " Wake"
And then, everything went black.
Nikolas' body convulsed furiously, his limbs thrashing around like a puppet on a string. His eyes remained closed, his face contorted in a silent scream.
"What's happening to him?" Xaiter demanded "Make it stop!"
Dr sooj tried to reassure him. " I am doing everything I can, Xaiter. But Nikolas' body is reacting to some sort of...I don't know, some kind of dark magic, perhaps."
The doctor's eyes widened as he sees Nikolas back to be moving of its own accord, as if something was trying to break free from beneath his skin.
"Oh God," the doctor whispered.
Xaiter's face was white with fear. "You have to stop it," he begged. "You have to make it stop."
The doctor nodded, his hands shaking as he reached for Nikolas' back "I will try," he said. "But I don't know if it will work."
"His Majesty will not be pleased if anything happens to him," Xaiter muttered to himself, his eyes darting towards the door as if expecting the king to appear at any moment
The doctor's hands trembled as he reached for the bandage on Nikolas' back. Xaiter watched with bated breath as the doctor gently unwrapped the cloth, revealing the wound beneath.
But to their surprise, the wound was not as they had expected, the wound on Nikolas' back was exposed revealing a deep gash. But before their eyes, the edges of the wound begins to twitch and tremble, like a living thing. The skin around the wound started to fold inwards, closing the gap with a very fast speed.
"By the gods," Xaiter whispers
"It's healing," the doctor said his eyes wide with wonder. "And fast , faster than a supernatural . I have never seen anything like this."
Xaiter's eyes narrowed. "What does it mean?"
Nikolas' body suddenly convulsed again, his body arching off the bed. The doctor and Xaiter watched in amazement as the wound seemed to glow with a soft, white light.
"It's accelerating," the doctor breathed. "The healing process is speeding up."
Xaiter's face was grim. "We need to tell the king."
The doctor nodded, his eyes still fixed on Nikolas' back. "I will prepare a report." He said his eyes fixed on the spot where the wound had been. "I have never seen anything like it," he muttered to himself. "The speed, the completeness...it's as if his body is defying the laws of nature and he is human."
"I will go call the king," Xaiter said before dashing out of the room. He sprinted down the corridor, his footsteps echoing off the stone walls, as he headed towards the meeting room where King Alexander was holding court.
Xaiter burst into the meeting room, out of breath and apologetic. "Your Majesty, forgive the interruption," Xaiter said, his voice trembling slightly as he bows to the king.
King Alexander still holding Elder Samuel by the neck snapped his head towards Xaiter, his eyes blazing red. "What is it?" he growled.
Xaiter swallowed hard before speaking, his eyes darting towards the elders before returning to the king. "It's concerning your mate, Your Majesty," he said.
The remaining elders present held their collective breath, their faces pale with fear as they all knew that if anything had happened to Alexander's mate, they would all be held accountable.
King Alexander's grip on Elder Samuel's neck tightened, his knuckles white with tension. Then, he released the elder, who gasped for air, and turned to Xaiter. "Let's go," Alexander said.
But as he reached the door to exit the meeting room, he turned back to face the elders. "You all may be older than me," he said, his eyes flashing with anger, "but I am YOUR KING.Do not forget it."
With that he strode out of the room, Xaiter hurrying to keep up with him. The elders watched them go, their faces with fear and hatred for Nikolas because as a human being the fated mate of The king the balance of nature is affected so they will stop at nothing to make the balance.
