The short warrior answered Rose's question with a loud voice "The great one is the supreme entity that governs the entire labyrinth, he is the progenitor of the entire Luptia empire. He was known as Trevor the great by the Luptians, and was also a powerful mage capable of freezing lakes and incinerating towns. The great one left the kingdom of Luptia three hundred years ago and since then no one knew what had happened to him. Many of our scholars still claimed that he was alive and breathing and as such warriors were sent to continue to search for the 'Great one'.We were also part of the squads that had been sent over centuries to find our great ancestor. Eventually, our scholars were able to pinpoint his location to this labyrinth and they sent us; their finest and most trusted warriors to continue the great search. After much wandering in the labyrinth our 'Great one' appeared to us in the form of an elderly man. He then entrusted us with his divine mission which entailed the slaughter of all non Luptians in the labyrinth so that he can have enough souls to escape and then put Luptia on the top of the world where it needs to be."Could it have been the Crimson forest demon? Gale asked the rest of the group for that was the only old man that they had encountered in the labyrinth. "Who knows? Rose replied, after all the demon was probably screaming in some part of hell presently. Lee after thinking for some time asked another question "Is your 'Great one' still alive? The short man replied with a crazed look in his eye "Of course he is, he watches us as we speak and soon he will come to rescue his devout servants". "It seems your lot have been deceived by another malicious entity in this labyrinth" Lee added with a shake of his head for he knew that the demon of the crimson forest wouldn't have bothered to use humans as mindless servants. "How was your supposed 'Great one' going to use or even capture the souls of your victims? Rose asked as she readied her whip in case if one of them decided to be stupid. "I think we have answered enough of your questions" the short man replied as he looked upwards with a satisfied smile on his face. another crack sounded in the air as blood gushed out from his left eye. "It is us that will decide when it has been enough" Rose said as she sighed in annoyance. "What did that demon even promise to give you, that will make you want to suffer for it? Fiona further asked for she had no idea why they were proving to be exceedingly stubborn. With a loud yell another of the tied up warriors replied: "It is an artefact that rests on the pommels of our blades, it makes sure that anybody killed by the blade loses their soul to the demon. "Is there any way to free the souls? Okuagu asked as he pitied the many innocents that the twenty warriors must have slaughtered for their vague ideals. "How would I know; we are simply servants to a great cause" replied the warrior. "Lastly do you underlings have any idea about the location of the demon" Rose asked after Diamond whispered into her ears. "Correction the great one is no demon, he is simply...AH! roared the warrior when a thin shard of ice stabbed him in the shoulder. "You stupid outsiders the great one will be the one to find you" added another warrior when he had realized that the group had asked almost all the required questions. A fact that meant that they had long exhausted their usefulness. "I guess that will be all" Rose said as she turned to face the rest. "You do realize that once I leave here the tentacles of darkness will simply dissolve into nothing" Diamond pointed out for she didn't even want to imagine letting these crazy fanatics run scot free. "Don't worry they are not going anywhere" Lee said as small pillars of ice extended from the ground before covering the legs of the tied up warriors.After this and a short rest the two squads left as they searched for any sign of approaching trolls.
