"We encountered the trolls in another wasteland just like this one, so you all should be on the lookout for anything suspicious" Catherine said to the rest for no one could be sure about their exact location due to the fact that, well they were stuck in a labyrinth.
"After taking a sniff of the air, Okuagu drew his spear from his back as he smiled "Get ready for I Okuagu the child of fire has caught our quarries' scent". His muscles itched in anticipation of the approaching match, for he had long missed fighting life threatening creatures.
Though Okuagu had never even seen not to even mention smelled a troll before. He had only identified the scent as belonging to trolls due to the foul stench that permeated the air.
"They are five in number" Fiona added after taking a look at the direction that Okuagu seemed to be facing. "Any idea of their rank? Gale asked as he took out his bow. "Humanoid creatures rarely have rank" Fiona replied as she unsheathed a small mace..
"Give me one reason Brock, why we can't bake those little munchkins? A large troll with green hair on its back asked a large red haired troll at its side. "The chief for some reason has other ideas" replied the red haired with a disappointed grunt. "Hold on I smell something Trock" added Brock as drool dripped from its massive jaws. "I smell it too". "Humans" all the trolls said in unison as they smacked their lips.
Okuagu's muscles tensed as he felt the little vibrations that were travelling through the earth beneath them.
Boaruss on noticing the many gazes that were focused on him frowned "They have noticed us; the vibrations were released in order to pinpoint our locations".
"Can you also perform such a feat? Okuagu asked for if it was so it would be another great sensory skill that could be used by the Flaming Tempest squad. "My understanding of the earth has not reached such a level" Boaruss replied as he gritted his teeth.
"Rose on your right! Okuagu called out as a massive boulder the size of a small tent tore through the sky.
Boaruss with one massive jump appeared in front of Rose moments before he clenched his fist. The boulder instantly scattered into countless of pieces, thankfully with some gusts courtesy of Gale, the little rocks were blown away leaving the entire group unscathed.
"We will have to play this smartly" Gale said as he sliced another boulder in half using a wind blade. "Since they are five of them we will have to attack two to one" Rose said through fits of sweat. Their formation was rather simple; each member of the mercenaries was to fight side by side with one of the members of the Flaming Tempest squad.
Okuagu and Fiona, Gale and Catherine, Boaruss and Rose, Lee and Violet with the remaining girls forming their own group. Okuagu blasted another boulder that was crashing into their formation. The trolls armed with massive earthen clubs attacked the humans as they got ready for an approaching feast.
Okuagu dodged a swing from a brown haired troll as he left an opening for Fiona to attack. The brown haired troll roared in obvious displeasure before it sent Fiona flying backwards with massive kick from its earthen foot.
After making sure that Fiona was not left with any life threatening injury, Okuagu ran forward to face the troll. Okuagu gathered heat into his palms as he released a barrage of heat waves to the troll.
The troll raised its stone like arms in front of its chest as it blocked the attacks while it continued to run foward.
Dodging to the left Okuagu evaded another swing from the troll before he attempted to stab at the troll's chest. The troll with its right hand brushed the spear away as it tried to retaliate with a left hook aimed at Okuagu's jaw.
Okuagu crouched on the ground as the troll's fist hit nothing but air. Taking advantage of this moment Okuagu struck the Troll's feet with a flaming sweep.
The troll fell to one knee before it grunted in pain when a silver mace struck it on its jaws.
"You will have to do more than that to destroy me, HUMANS! The troll shouted as it clutched its head in obvious pain.
