"Uff, I did it," I thought, looking at the two corpses lying on the ground.
"Now, I need to get out of here." Slowly approaching the exit of the bathroom, I walked up to the glass doors...
"Oh shit," I muttered as I froze in place. Inside the store, there were at least 20 zombies... The worst part is that I knew there were at least 1,000 people here. It wasn't a big city or anything like that. It was just the only rest stop along our route.
"I can't take them all out with just a baseball bat"- I might be able to kill 20 zombies, but not if they all rush me at once.
"I need a plan." As I looked around the store through the door, I noticed that there were only three zombies in the hallway connecting the store to the restaurant.
"If I manage to kill them, I'll be able to close the doors between the store and the hallway"- but there's one problem. There were at least 80 people in the restaurant. When I went to the bathroom, it was around 10:30 a.m. It was a time when many people were grabbing a bite to eat before continuing their journey. I'd have to be quick and quiet enough to kill those three zombies and close off the hallway.
"I need to check what I can buy from the system" - I was intrigued by the skills category earlier. If there's a skill that helps me fight the undead, it would make it much easier to defeat them, but it all depends on the price. Right now, I only have 1 AP.

"D-damn, that's expensive" - looking at the skill prices hurt my heart. The cheapest skill costs 10 AP. As I scanned through all the skills and their descriptions again, I focused on five of them.
"Additional Slot increases the number of skills I can use at once. If I kill a few thousand zombies, I'll be able to equip a lot more skills," - I thought with a smile.
"I need Enhanced Focus"- having a skill that helps me stay alert will make it much easier to fight and plan my attacks.
"Hmm, what should I buy after Focus?" - in the long run, Reduced Need for Sleep will be useful. With that skill, I'll be able to grind more AP by killing zombies.
"I wonder if zombies are stronger at night than during the day" - I'll find out in a few hours. I hope the time of day doesn't affect the zombies. If they were stronger at night, I'd have to plan my future differently. I'd definitely need to build a secure place where zombies can't get in.
"I also need to buy Accuracy, Silent Steps, Regeneration, and Firearm Proficiency" - if I combine these skills, they will improve my overall survival. Silent Steps will make it much easier to move around without attracting zombie attention. Oh, I forgot to tell you. Zombies are similar to those in movies. I noticed they've lost about 90% of their vision, but their hearing and smell are much better.
With Silent Steps, if I add Accuracy and Firearm Proficiency, I'll be able to move quickly and quietly while taking out zombies and people too.
"No, I haven't forgotten the most important rule of the apocalypse. Beware of zombies, but keep an even closer eye on people" - zombies, while dangerous, only try to eat you. But people... People are far more dangerous. In the modern world, there were rapes, murders, and terrorist attacks, and that's just a small part of human nature.
Can you imagine it? In a world where law and order still exist, where you can get the death penalty for murder, people still kill for pleasure and material gain. Now, think about what it'll be like in a world where there's no order...?
"Chaos" - total chaos. People will kill each other over a little food. Rapes and murders will become everyday occurrences. At first, we won't feel it because we'll be able to hold on to our humanity. But that will last only until we're starving for days, until we're running from zombies.
So if you're ever in a situation like mine, remember...
"Don't trust anyone" - any person, even someone you love, can turn on you if there's something in it for them.
Returning to the skills. With those four skills I mentioned earlier, I can start hunting zombies safely. If I also buy Regeneration, Reduced Need for Sleep, and Survival Instinct, I could maximize my 'hunting' efficiency.
"But that's for later" - right now, I need to clear the hallway. While I was browsing skills, one of the three zombies managed to go into the store. So, there are only two left that I need to eliminate.
One zombie is standing a meter from the bathroom door, while the other is right at the entrance to the restaurant. If everything goes well, I'll lure them to me one by one and kill them. I need to quietly open the door and somehow attract one of the zombies.
"This is a bit risky" - I muttered, opening the door and slowly starting to tap my foot on the ground as quietly as possible.
After a moment, I caught the attention of one of the corpses, who began to approach the door.
"Got him," I thought with a smile. The zombie entered the bathroom. Slowly closing the door, I grabbed the baseball bat and a broom.
"Let's hope this works" - I gently tossed the broom so that the corpse would turn its back to me.
