Chapter 58 - The Winged-Humans (19) After The Rumbling (4)

With a mildly proper introduction made, Night Silver relaxed and looked around. I really should break down the corpse of the Mountain Dragon Lord. The materials I could gain from it will actually be of at least some use. I just wonder if now is a bad time to do it…

"Sister… Is there anything we can do while we wait for my brother to make some progress?" Moigit asked curiously.

"Hmm, I do suppose having the two of you help clean up the area would be helpful. There is something I do need to do before it becomes too late…" Night Silver suggested, as her eyes glanced over at the giant dragon corpse.

"Ah, you want to harvest the usable parts from him." Frayrsis noted, standing up. "We will start by clearing the rubble while you do that messy business, sister." He added

"Huh? Oh, yes, I'll go and collect anything that still might be of use to you sister. And then I'll help with the rubble." Moigit said, snapping out of a momentary confusion as he realized that he too didn't want to see his uncle being carved up.

Brightness simply sighed as the two younger brothers of his walked away to begin working. "I think this will be good for them. It certainly beats being under our mothers control…" He said, in a mild musing tone.

"Don't worry too much about those things my friend. You have a more important task to worry about now don't you." Night Silver giggled. It's funny, I never thought a dragon would be this into me. Why does it feel so good? And even better when I tease him like this? "Well, I'm off to carve out the useful parts. I've got a three tribe union to jump start. These resources will surely be of exceptional use." She said, walking away in an overly sexual manner. Damn, I'm feeling it already! Why is this body so… Oh… Nevermind, I guess I'll just have to deal with it.

"I promise. I will prove this is possible. And I'll get strong enough so you won't regret having me…" Brightness said, accidentally speaking loud enough for Night Silver to hear.

Night SIlver whipped her head around, causing her hair to flutter about. She flashed a smirk in return. "You better not break that promise. Or the whole power of nature will be against you." She managed to tease. And turned her head back before her whole face turned a beat red. Did he seriously just do that? Talk about embarrassing! But at this point if I don't respond to it in a way to make him embarrassed I'll lose my head.

Moigit and Frayrsis were able to catch a glimpse of Night Silver's beat red face. Each of the two younger dragons chuckled to themselves lightly.

"Seems that sister isn't as stuck up as she seemed when she fought us." Moigit mentioned first.

"Yeah, so long as brother Brightness can manage something thought to be impossible… We very well might see some half dragons born in the near future." Frayrsis added.

"Agreed, I wonder what they will look like? And how strong will they be?" Moigit replied with a bit of curiosity as the pile of rubble continued to grow.

"Well, Sister Night Silver was able to single handedly kill uncle. And she was the one who ultimately killed Father as well. If they inherit even a tenth of that strength… I'm sure they will be forces of nature." Frayrsis answered… "I wonder if Sister will be rough with us again…" He added in an overly joyful tone.

It was around this time they, Frayrsis and Moigit both felt an overwhelming sense of dread come over them. It was a rather familiar feeling and one from recent memory. They slowly turned their heads, nervously towards the direction it was coming from. They saw an elf with silver hair fluttering in the air, smiling at them. This wasn't a smile of joy, or anything good… It was a warning. A brief moment later the smiling elf made a brutal cut into the corpse she was nearby and blood gushed out at a rather surprising pace.

"Sorry…" Frayrsis and Moigit both uttered softly in a bit of a freight.

"Good. It's best if you don't overstep with those words of yours. You wouldn't want to be silenced now would you?" Night Silver forcefully giggled.

The pair of dragons went back to their assigned jobs without missing a beat. The giggle they just heard was anything but comforting. It felt like it couldn't wait to turn into a snicker.

Brightness dragon lord was simply ignoring the exchange. Well… Most of It. Children… Children, yes that's why I'm pushing so hard. I can't think of anyone I'd want to be my children's mother than her… That's what this transformation means for me. With new resolve, his soul got a supercharge and shifted ever so slightly. He was soon seen to be a measure smaller than he had been before.

However, with all of his efforts, Brightness still could not change forms. He had only managed to make himself About 5% smaller while retaining the same strength he had prior.

"Oh wow! Brighty you really are putting in a ton of effort into this. Impressive…" Night Silver mentioned walking over after completely carving up the usable resources from the Mountain dragon lord's corpse.

"Huh, this? Is it really that good, Sil? I don't feel like I've made much change. And it's rather strenuous." Brightness asked breathing heavily.

"Oh yeah, you've managed to learn at least a couple of things from this experience. I'm impressed, you're really taking this seriously. You've earned the chance to see the transformation again. Just tell me when you'd like to see it…" Night Silver said, though she stopped before finishing her point.

Brightness had shaken his head. "Sil, I appreciate that a great deal. But I'd prefer if I wasn't the cause of you living through this pain again. It hurts worse than that beating I took from my uncle…" He said, calmly. "I think I can make more progress than this without asking you to transform. So please allow me to ask only when I'm really stuck." He added, in a tender tone as his body returned to its original size.
