Chapter 51 - The Winged-Humans (12) (Rumbling Dragons 3)

With the vote of confidence from a former ally, now a friend, not to mention the buffs she had given, Brightness Dragon Lord crouched down, opened his massive wing-span. Then with a wink, he took to the skies with a single leap and flap of his wings, to carry his giant body making him airborne. The size of a dragon is nothing to sneeze at, and with such a quick motion, the air had a small delay before rushing in to fill the now empty space.

Maybe I gave him a little too many buffs. Oh well, I've already landed a substantial blow on the enemy as it is. My experience gain is assured at this point. I wonder if this will be enough to return me to lvl100 strength? Maybe even further? Eh, enough daydreaming I guess. I may learn more about how to fight in dragon form if I watch this fight closely…

"What? You think with a little bit of pathetic magic you're all of a sudden able to match or best me?" The Mountain Dragon Lord taunted with a testy roar as the two Dragon Lords began circling a center point between them, each gauging the other's responses and movements. Damn that poison, it's gone but I still feel weakened for some reason. Is it the wound, where that damned Elf touched me? He stole a glance towards Night Silver, what he saw…

Oh, he's looking at me? I guess he's suffering the after effects of my poison. Yeah, that's right. Feel that weakness settling in? You won't be able to metabolize that away. Not without a long rest at the very least. That poison was able to render level 100 players unplayable for a full 24 hours. I'm actually shocked he's flying right now, a testament to the broken stats of a dragon type creature.

It was her. Perhaps I should have taken action sooner? Can I even win? NO! I am a Dragon Lord, there are only 2 beings stronger than I. These two are not them.

Seeing the rather blatant opening that Mountain Dragon Lord gave just now, Brightness Dragon Lord closed in with a high speed ramming. The reverberations of the collision sent shock waves several miles away, some of the ice caps on nearby mountains had cracked and started sliding down in mini avalanches.

The Mountain Dragon Lord, in his utter shock and awe let out a roar of pain, though not a soul heard it over the sound of the impact. This pain! My liver just burst from the force of that impact?! WHAT! No, that shouldn't be possible! "HOW DARE YOU INJURE ME! YOU LOWLY FLYING LIZARD!" He shouted, gritting his teeth as he made a swift strike with his claws, grazing Brightness Dragon Lord just enough several scales fell to the ground, each a low thud.

Brightness Dragon Lord groaned dully, pushing through the pain. Even with all of these buffs, my uncle is still formidable. That said, without these buffs that strike would have put me out of the fight for sure. Let's back off and recover for now. He started backing away, firing out his dragon's breath to provide cover and prevent being pursued.

"You think I'm going to let you get away, you whelp!" The Mountain Dragon Lord roared, pursuing his nephew, through the breath attack. Appearing from the plume with singed scales and a furious glare in his eyes, he wanted to kill this nephew of his at any cost. With my weakened state and having to divide my focus on recovering… I can not let him get the upper hand again. That magic must be more powerful than I imagined… That's really not good!

As the Mountain Dragon Lord closed in, Brightness Dragon Lord reacted, raising his arms and preparing his claws to catch a similarly shaped set of claws, he drew back his neck assuming the Dragons close combat form.

The two dragons, currently of similar strength began a rapid exchange of headbutts, slashing attempts, kicks, breath attacks, wing tip stabs and fierce whippings of their tails. With each blow sending out shockwaves of various intensities in all directions. Triggering more mini avalanches, of which Night Silver ignored.

Instead Night Silver put up her guard against what she could sense coming… Two more Draconic feeling signatures were making a mad dash towards their location. They feel familiar in a way, I've sensed them before. Where? Oh, that's right, two of these were there that day, they were with that Great Dragon Mother. It seems like I have to abandon the plan. We can not let this Mountain Dragon Lord escape, and I can not have the other dragons finding out about the buffs yet. A few trusted ones are fine, but not that one… My rival in power.

It didn't take long for the brawl between the Brightness and Mountain Dragon Lords to result in numerous injuries. Such is the strength and also the weakness of dragons. Too strong for their own good, with little understanding of how to properly control it. However, at the end of the scuffle, the both of them descended from the sky, neither of them able to remain airborne. Though, it was for… different reasons.

For the Brightness Dragon Lord, he was just exhausted and injured. While a few of the buffs had run out the clock on their duration. As for the Mountain Dragon Lord, he was sickened, weakened, and being poisoned by his own liver, putting stress upon his kidneys and his automatic regeneration ability which drained his stamina even further.

After watching this, I'm glad that the fight with the Dragon Emperor was right after he had expended the vast majority of his power. And we numbered so many.

The other two dragons finally arrived, remaining airborne as they looked at the situation attempting to understand what was going on. Each wanting to make a move, but were, well… Stunned by what they saw.

"Uncle was beaten to this state, and with very little help by that damned elf? Should we help?" One Dragon asked, the other.

"No, we should report this to Mother. If anyone can deal with brother and that elf now, it's mother. We stand no chance." The other said, just before a sudden chill ran down both their spines.

"You think you can come and go as you please?" Night Silver said in a truly terrifying voice as she enveloped herself in a thick aura, one that made what she used previously look like child's play.
