The storm subsided, and the smoke and dust began to clear. The terrifying energy of the Tailed Beast Bomb had leveled the area within a ten-mile radius, creating a massive crater. All the trees and vegetation that had once stood there were completely gone.
At the center of the crater lay a figure cloaked in a faint red chakra. The person was still alive.
"Now you see how strong I am!"
In his transformed state, Killer Bee, now fully in his tailed beast form, sprinted on all fours like a red lightning bolt towards the collapsed Kushina. After witnessing her astonishing regenerative abilities, he didn't believe that a single Tailed Beast Bomb would be enough to knock her out.
Inside the crater, Kushina slowly stood up. The red chakra cloak around her body bubbled visibly. She glared at the rapidly approaching Killer Bee and summoned the adamantine chains once more. She didn't know many jutsu, and most were ineffective against the Eight-Tails' jinchūriki. The only technique capable of suppressing him was the adamantine chains. Even if it was only for a brief moment, it would be enough to seal the Eight-Tails' power.
A tailed beast jinchūriki's strength, speed, and destructive power were overwhelming, but with the Yin Seal released, Kushina was confident she could find an opportunity to seal him.
But first… she had to immobilize him!
Swish, swish!
Nine adamantine chains extended from Kushina's back, like the tails of a demon fox, slicing through the air as they shot towards Killer Bee.
"The same trick won't work on me again!"
The red figure, surging with speed and power, shattered the ground beneath his feet as he dodged the first chain. In an instant, he vanished, using his hands to push off the ground to the right, narrowly avoiding the chains while maintaining his forward momentum. The golden chains, like the legs of a spider, spread out above him, forming a net.
Killer Bee's eight chakra tails slammed into the ground, propelling him into the air and avoiding the chains. His precise control over his power and movement made him appear like a meteor crashing down toward Kushina at incredible speed.
Kushina didn't have time to react before Killer Bee slammed her into the ground. The impact created a loud crash, and the earth around them caved in.
The sheer force of the blow knocked Kushina down, shattering the adamantine chains extending from her back. Blood and fragments of internal organs spewed from her mouth. Although her ruptured organs regenerated almost immediately, the immense force of the attack caused her mind to blank for a moment.
Feeling the strong life force still emanating from the collapsed Kushina beneath him, Killer Bee showed no mercy. He raised one foot and began stomping down rapidly.
Boom, boom, boom!
With immense power, Killer Bee's foot came down like a blur, repeatedly stomping on Kushina's back. Each blow drove her deeper into the ground, the surrounding area expanding with cracks.
Despite the terrifying healing powers granted by the Yin Seal, Kushina's consciousness began to fade under the constant barrage. The chakra cloak enveloping her was rapidly diminishing.
The Cloud ninjas who had finished off the other Konoha ninjas stood at a distance, watching Killer Bee mercilessly beat Kushina.
"Looks like I won't need to step in," A said, his arms crossed as he coldly observed the scene.
A Cloud ninja cautiously approached and asked, "Lord Bee won't accidentally kill the Nine-Tails' jinchūriki, will he?"
A glanced at the ninja and replied coldly, "Bee knows what he's doing."
Hearing this, the Cloud ninja slowly backed away and joined the others, all of them watching the victory of their village's jinchūriki.
Ye Zi, who had been drawn to the scene by the explosion from the Tailed Beast Bomb, saw the brutal spectacle from afar. Rage instantly welled up inside him. He clenched his fists, struggling to control his emotions. Standing on a tree branch, he watched Killer Bee stomp on Kushina, blow after blow, the sound of each impact echoing like a hammer, growing heavier with each strike, each one affecting his heart.
"One day, I'm going to take the Nine-Tails. What's the point of intervening now?" he muttered to himself, trying to root his feet to the ground, forcing himself to stand still and watch as Kushina endured this inhuman suffering.
"Let the Cloud take the Nine-Tails. Then there will be no reason to hold back when I strike later, right?"
"Just watching… that's enough."
"You only… look like her…"
His quiet self-talk was at odds with the turmoil in his heart. Images of Kushina flashed rapidly through his mind. His clenched fists turned white at the knuckles, and the hand pressed against the tree trunk crushed it instantly.
None of the Cloud ninjas, their focus entirely on Killer Bee and Kushina, noticed this.
Despite the Yin Seal's rapid healing, Kushina couldn't block out the pain. Enduring wave after wave of agony, her consciousness teetered on the edge of unconsciousness, as the light in her vision was gradually overtaken by darkness.
When she next opened her eyes, she found herself in a familiar space—the sealed chamber where the Nine-Tails was imprisoned.
Kushina looked down at the ripples spreading out from beneath her feet, then raised her head to the iron gates plastered with sealing tags. Behind the gate, the cold eyes of the beast glared at her. Her expression was filled with despair.
The massive form of the Nine-Tails was hidden in the darkness, only its eyes glowing, clearly displaying its emotions. It stared coldly at the dejected Kushina and spoke: "So now you come begging me for help?"
"Help me," Kushina said seriously, suppressing her disappointment as she looked at the Nine-Tails.
She had to stop the Cloud ninjas. Only by doing so could the Land of Fire be spared from war, giving her village a chance to claim victory.
"I refuse," the Nine-Tails replied coldly. "That Eight-Tails jinchūriki's goal is to capture you. In the end, I'll just be transferred to a new host. Why should I help you?"
Without hesitation, Kushina responded, "Before that happens, I'll kill myself."
"You brat!"
The Nine-Tails' eyes narrowed, and its head slowly pushed forward against the iron bars. Its claws gripped the sides of the cage, straining as if to crush the detestable prison.
"You think the Cloud ninjas, after going to all this trouble to capture you, will just let you kill yourself?"
Its fierce gaze bore into Kushina, furious at the thought of its life being controlled by someone else.
Kushina took a deep breath, her expression calm as she said, "You can bet on it."
Her steady gaze seemed to convey that she would follow through on her words.
The Nine-Tails fell silent, unwilling to perish alongside its jinchūriki. Even if it would eventually revive, it could take countless years.
"You could rip off the seal. I'll help you kill every Cloud ninja here. Isn't that what you want?" the Nine-Tails offered instead.
"I can't let you out," Kushina replied firmly, shaking her head. From the moment she became a jinchūriki, the responsibility she had to bear was etched into her soul. She would rather die than release the Nine-Tails.
Once freed, a beast that hated humanity like the Nine-Tails would bring nothing but disaster.
"Then do as you wish," the Nine-Tails muttered, withdrawing into the darkness. It still believed the Cloud ninjas would succeed in capturing Kushina and transferring it to a new host. Compared to the troublesome Uzumaki women, it preferred a different container. The previous host was troublesome, and now Kushina was no different—he hadn't found a single opportunity to escape this cage.
"Is this really the end…? I'm so useless."
Seeing the Nine-Tails' refusal, Kushina's eyelids lowered slightly, her resolve to die growing stronger.
"I wonder… if I'll see you again in death."
The thought brought a smile to her face as images of him flashed through her mind.
"This is it, then."
Rather than let the Cloud ninjas take the Nine-Tails or release it, she would rather die here, accomplishing nothing.
"You brat!"
Hidden in the darkness, the Nine-Tails sensed Kushina's unwavering will to die and roared in fury. Its claws reached through the iron bars but couldn't touch her.
"I'm sorry, Nine-Tails."
Kushina gazed into the beast's angry eyes, her expression resolute.
