Iris, The Prelude of Clones

Synopsis Will Pandora's Box of Human Cloning Be Opened? In 1997, Dr. Ian Wilmut of the Roslin Institute in Edinburgh, Scotland, introduced the world to "Dolly," the first cloned sheep. By 2015, the American company VIAGEN PETS had become the first in the world to clone deceased dogs and cats, producing hundreds of cloned animals and establishing itself as the largest animal cloning company in the United States. In May 2023, a baby with DNA from three parents was born at the Newcastle Fertility Centre in the UK, made possible through mitochondrial replacement technology. As of 2024, we find ourselves in the age of AI, with expectations that AI will soon evolve into AGI (Artificial General Intelligence), capable of thinking like humans and even surpassing human intelligence. AGI is anticipated to address long-standing challenges in genetic engineering and biotechnology swiftly and effectively. But what happens when human desires come into play? What if a beloved child, spouse, parent, or even a renowned politician or scholar passes away? With sufficient funding and stable technology, could they be cloned? Even in the Bible, the birth of Jesus is described as asexual reproduction. According to Christian doctrine, Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. This event, known as the "virgin birth," signifies a departure from the typical human reproductive process. This belief is a foundational doctrine of Christianity, underscoring both the divinity and humanity of Jesus. While the concept of asexual reproduction differs from traditional scientific reproductive methods, it is viewed through the lens of faith as divine intervention. Currently, biotechnology is advancing rapidly in most areas, with the exception of core somatic cell cloning. This progress is gradually resolving uncertainties and instabilities while pushing the boundaries of what is deemed divine. A top-down approach, which entails completing surrounding technologies before developing nuclear weapons and only adding the warhead when conditions are right, is already being applied in genetic engineering and biotechnology. In the United States, violations of the Human Cloning Prohibition Act can result in penalties of up to 10 years in prison or fines exceeding $1 million. If someone is willing to take that risk...? The Pandora's Box of human cloning is already upon us.

The Author’s Paradox

The center of the universe. The undisputed victor. The one who ultimately wins hearts and undoes enemies with a triumphant smile. That is the role of the protagonist. And all in their orbit are merely supporting characters in the epic that is their life. As for me? I was just a writer, whose words seldom echoed beyond the silence of my own mind. And when they did, it was in the form of a novel – my sole outcry in the vastness of literary oblivion. Until the day the thread of my life snapped… and in the blink of an eye, I was reborn. Inside my own work. With clenched fist and resolute soul, I faced the new reality. Reincarnating into one's own story seems promising, right? To be the immortal hero, the aura of invincibility, the inevitable romances. Except no. The plot twisted and I returned not as the hero, but as an extra – an NPC in the affable terminology of gaming. Away from the spotlight, on the fringes of adventures and loves, I am just a figure that completes the backdrop for others to shine. And honestly? What a relief! Why, you might ask, do I not wish to be the chosen one? Simple – protagonists are magnets for mishaps. Living on the edge of calamity? No, thank you. Death and I have already crossed paths; dramatic pretexts can keep their distance. Thus, I summon to the heavens my heartfelt thanks for this second anonymous chance. “Let me enjoy a stable life away from the limelight,” I plead fervently among tears of joy and resigned smiles. Yet, stifle that laughter. Know that these words, uttered in the innocence of a fresh start, would soon prove to be the prelude to an involuntary comedy. Because, it seems, even an extra can find themselves face to face with destiny. And so begins the most unexpected of journeys – one where the smallest of pawns may, somehow, change the game.

Disciples of the Forbidden Lord

Fate. A rather vague concept for mortals and weak beings. Even the strong might not be able to escape the clutches of fate. Will, a supreme being of the Universe thought that his life was pretty much the same as other experts in the Universe. He thought that he was just destined to chill and play around as he suffered nearly all his life to rise to the top but Fate was a very strange concept. Will who thought that he is above the laws of fate and density found himself get dragged by it again in the Chaos that unfolded due to gaining knowledge that wasn’t supposed to be known by him early in time. And before he knew it, the disciples he chose to teach after waking up from his slumber of millions of years, ended having him dragged by fate to play into its hands …… People thought that the end have started. Many different races thought that by the beginning of the chaos, many would end up losing a lot of their loved ones. At the same time, times of Chaos are also known as times of great Opportunities. Dangers and opportunities. When the incoming Chaos came, many people had this thought. But, they didn’t know that this was simply a prelude to just a bigger chaos. They live in a Universe that they thought that it is just like the many out there. A Universe, that the people outside have thought that it had been lost in the long river of History. Follow my journey as the destined among the inhabitants of the once-forgotten Universe rises again to power due to the sudden invasion from the Outside Realm. Watch the rise of Noah and Max. Two beings who managed to drag a Supreme Being like Will into the unfolding Chaos. …… I can’t promise that the first few chapters are enjoyable since I am a newbie author, but I am pretty sure that I am always evolving as I am trying to make my plot and storyline more perfect and more interesting. This Novel isn’t a slow-paced one but it isn’t fast-paced, the story is moving in moderation as many things are bound to unfold at the same time in different places. I don’t know if I am really delivering a story as I imagined in my head but I am doing my best as I am constantly improving and I hope that your reviews and comments can help me do a better job. I am always open to suggestions from readers. If you have any ideas that might go well with my story, you can just contact me on Discord or leave me a comment. I hope you have a good read. ~~~~~~~~~~ Chapters have word count between 1150 to 1600 Words Chapter 89--> Chapter --- Word count between 1500---1800 If you see that my story has some worth, please give Power stones to help make the novel more popular.
