Chapter 73 - Solaris' Best Move And Tactics

"The spell is Solaris' best move as of yet. Called Solar Cataclysm, it's an anti-kingdom spell that uses the might of the sun, sending down a powerful flaming ball to destroy everything she wishes."

"The ball is then split into several flaming ribbons, which are then task to chase down any pitiful individual in the area, instantly cooking them. If given a chance, Solaris could turn any nearby body of water into lava using that spell."

"We have to make sure she doesn't fully unleash it or mitigate it," explained Mavislin, her eyebrows furrowing.

"We have to kill her before that then. And I'd like to tap on one more thing; the Solaris we are facing is both a close-quarters combatant and a ranged one. However, she prefers to use mana-based attacks so perhaps the Viceroy would be at a disadvantage..."

It was almost as if the rabbit was trying to mock Zenos.

"Do you think I've made it this far without encountering mages? Though I might not personally favor their style, I welcome any challenge they present. As for the bunny, Lady Shadow, dismiss it."

"I'm more than prepared to face Solaris with no vulnerabilities," replied the blonde, brushing his hair to the side.

"I trust your words. And if I find you slacking, I'm leaving you behind. I haven't the energy to babysit so the two of you better perform to my standards. I won't tolerate failure," demanded the dragoness as she glared at her two men.

"Of course, Lady Shadow," purred Zenos.

"Affirmative, boss. I won't let you down," saluted the bunny while glaring at the Viceroy.

This was going to be a chore, thought Shadow.

"Another thing to note is Solaris' weapon of choice. According to legend, she wielded a bow. But from what Venom had stated, Solaris uses a staff that has a blade on the top..."

"Is there something you'd like to add?" asked Mattheos, ears twitching.

Mavislin remained silent, lost in thought as she grappled with the problem at hand. As she pondered, her hair began to shimmer faintly, and suddenly, a single snake emerged from her head and slithered onto the table.

The snake's gaze met hers with an almost knowing look as if it had a message to convey.

"She what now?!" exclaimed Mavislin, shocked at the name's words.

"That's the first time I've seen you so shocked... Does the animal's words trouble you that much?" asked the Viceroy.

"Yes, those words are a bit bothersome. My Guardian is asking to speak to everyone directly to prepare us for the Twilight Twins," explained Mavislin, feeling slightly nervous.

"What's the matter?" asked Zenos, sounding genuinely concerned.

"My Guardian keeps wanting to cuddle up with you... I'm... Just confused and conflicted to let her take over me for a bit."

"Would it be dangerous? Will she try to take full control and go on a rampage with your body?" quizzed Matt, concerned and frightened by the thought of a Guardian running rampant.

"No... It won't, as I have the power to knock her down twice if I need to. It's just that she really wants to snuggle with the Viceroy cause of what he did to our girls... They are attracted to you."

Mavislin shook her head vigorously before slapping her cheeks and focusing back on the matter.

"Alright... I will allow her to speak but please don't touch her. She might try to grab Zenos but if you don't reciprocate she won't push further," advised the dragoness, taking a deep breath.

"Not an issue. After all, I am interested in you, my dear beast. Not your Guardian," replied Zenos, not understanding the weight of his words.

Poor Mavislin was in a blushing mess once more while Matt shook his head in dismay.

"Either you've got poor taste in words or you're very bad at social cues..."

"Do my words truly strike such embarrassment to you?"

"Yes," chimed both the dragoness and rabbit.

Mavislin slumped forward, closing her eyes as her hair cascaded over her face. The once-wine-colored locks transformed into shimmering silver, the ends now adorned with snakeheads, each bearing striking purple eyes.

Her scales darkened to a deep black, and as she slowly straightened up, her chartreuse eyes, set against a backdrop of black sclera, came into view.

She cast a glance at Mattheos, who recoiled in fear, then turned her gaze to the Viceroy, whose expression showed a mix of intrigue and curiosity.

With a confident smile, 'Mavislin' rose to her feet, her attire shifting into a simple, form-fitting one-piece dress that fell just above mid-thigh, accentuating her figure. Mattheos felt a flush of heat rise to his cheeks, his throat tightening as he swallowed nervously.

He was acutely aware of how stunning his boss appeared in the dress, and the sudden, unexpected beauty left him feeling both embarrassed and captivated.
