In stark contrast, Zenos displayed no such restraint. His gaze roamed over her form with unabashed hunger, his eyes lingering and a predatory smile curling on his lips, as though he were savoring every detail and ready to claim her for himself.
"Good afternoon, as you know I am Mavislin's Guardian. It's a pleasure to meet you both, Mattheos and Zenos. I am not too fond of small talk so I shall lay down the bare details about Solaris."
"The body who housed Solaris has fought against me before as did Solaris herself. The difference was that I was unable to finish Solaris off because Lunaris came into play."
"When those two fight in close proximity, their powers and strength are enhanced significantly, making it impossible to bring both down. However, the body that is now Solaris' vessel is a lady named Anna and she was a good Mage."
"Her spells are strong enough to stun a strong soldier so please tread lightly."
"I was under the impression that the body no longer has a soul?" asked the Viceroy, raising an eyebrow.
"No; much like how Mavislin can allow... Uh..."
"Medusa or Mavislin calls me Medy," chimed Medusa, with a small smile.
"Ah, that's a cute name. As I was saying, much like how Mavislin can allow Medy to take over but not fully do so, I believe Solaris and Lunaris have the same aptitude to do so. And even if so, the Legion might have forced train them to," explained Mattheos.
Medusa felt a warm flush spread across her cheeks as she heard her name being praised. Her reaction was mirrored by a small white snake that delicately extended from her, gently brushing its tongue against Mattheos's cheek in a tender, affectionate kiss.
"The bunny is correct; Solaris and Anna have been living together but the roles are reversed. Instead of Anna having control, it's Solaris."
"This makes it slightly more challenging as it would mean Solaris can tap into Anna's memories and use her fighting style against her opponents," continued Medusa, regaining her composure.
"But why not crush Anna's soul? Why not let her move on?" asked the Viceroy.
"And since when do you care about giving rest to the fallen?" shot the rabbit, folding his arms across his chest.
"Don't misunderstand me; I'm approaching this from a logical perspective. Why take the risk of Anna regaining control? In combat, Solaris would undoubtedly possess a more resilient mind than a young girl."
"If Anna's consciousness remains, it would only facilitate the enemies' efforts to sway her back into control. Why endure such complications?"
"You have a point. I have seen warriors use methods of tongue to persuade the monsters to rethink their rampage. And you've seen it happen once when you noticed that I had taken over Mavislin for a bit against Scylla."
"I too am weak to such emotions but I've got Mavislin to keep me in check. However, the reason why Anna is still in there is simple. If she isn't, then the Guardian will lose control of the body."
"Like what we've witnessed with Celia," explained Medusa as she tried her best to not remember that scene.
"I'm sorry, what happened?" asked Matt, slightly perplexed.
"In short, Celia from the Legion had fully passed on and the Guardian within her went out of control, using her fallen body to try and go on the kill."
"However, the Viceroy stepped in to finish her before things could get messy," explained Medusa, shooting a small wink at the blonde.
"She was about to explode anyways, I just sped up the process..." answered the Viceroy, unfeeling towards Medusa's wink.
"Another thing I'd like to point out. Solaris' weaponry consists of the staff with a blade named Radiance of the Sun. The blade itself isn't that sharp but it can channel mana better than most high-ranking Mages."
"When she uses Radiant Blume, everyone has to move away from her so you wouldn't be affected by her affinity. If you do, then it's game over because you'd never be able to hurt her."
"Thank you, Medy. The information you've given us has been greatly appreciated," praised Mattheos, gently patting Medusa's head.
Her snakes let out delighted squeals, eagerly darting toward the rabbit in a flurry of excitement, clearly thrilled to receive more pats. The blonde watched the amusing scene with a satisfied smile, clearly entertained by the playful interaction.
Such conflicting personalities... thought the two males.
"I'd like to extend my thanks to you as well, Lady Medusa," said the Viceroy, nodding at the girl.
"It's no problem. After all, it's rare that Sister Mavy gives me a chance to speak to those working with her. I am very emotional compared to her, after all, and I'm still working on it."
