Chapter 28 - THE BLACK CROWN -28-

Everyone's gaze shifted to Aria, their expressions contemplative. John spoke calmly, his words laced with a hint of cruelty.

"Aria, you are a healer," he stated. "Other people need you, but this good-for-nothing can die but you cannot!"

Han couldn't help but raise his eyebrows at John's callous comment, silently judging his harshness. Aria bit her tongue, restraining her urge to argue further as Charles redirected everyone's focus back to the plan.

"Alright, here's the plan," Charles stated. "Me and Han will handle the left side of the forest, accompanied by demons stopping at their designated levels."

Turning to John, Charles continued, "You'll take the middle path. Lead the demons until you reach the third area, and then you're on your own. Understood?" John nodded in affirmation, acknowledging the plan's instructions.

Charles continued outlining the plan, moving on to the third phase.

"On the right side, Aria and Harl will handle their respective areas," he explained. "Harl will advance to the third area since he is among the highly ranked demons, known for his impressive physical strength."

Han interrupted Charles, his words laced with a hint of sarcasm. "Too bad, it was supposed to be Eric's spot, huh?"

An uncomfortable silence settled over everyone, the mood suddenly becoming solemn upon the mention of Eric's name.

Han was puzzled by the sudden silence that enveloped the room. He hadn't said anything wrong, or so he thought.

Charles attempted to dispel the awkwardness, resuming his explanation of the plan but everyone seemed to disregard Han's presence, as if his words hung heavy in the air.

-after three days-

Time had passed, and the anticipation grew with each day. Now, they were all in their positions, waiting for the prince's signal to initiate the attack.

The tension was palpable, a mixture of excitement and anxiety filled the air. Today was the day that would determine whether they would achieve victory or suffer defeat in this war.

The fate of the demon kingdom rested on their shoulders, and each individual felt the weight of that responsibility.

Han stood alongside Charles, taking a moment to admire his own war attire. He glanced down at his damaged life core and a smile tugged at his lips, a hint of excitement in his eyes.

Charles approached Han, a concerned expression on his face. "Are you sure you want to go? Even if your power is limited, having a few extra seconds of foresight could help," he reasoned.

Han dismissed Charles' offer with a shrug. "Nah, where's the fun in that?" he replied. "Besides, you can protect me anyway. I don't mind if I die."

Charles sighed in resignation, realizing that persuasion would be pointless. Han was undeniably stubborn, and there was no use wasting energy trying to change his mind.

As they stood there, Charles couldn't help but express his worry, a frown etched across his face. "You're being stubbornly reckless, you know that?" he said in a weary tone. "Your life core is already damaged, but you still insist on putting yourself in harm's way."

"I know" Han's eagerness to move forward was apparent. He pointed out, "Enough stalling, let's go! We're wasting time." Charles huffed, clearly frustrated. "If we die, it's on you."

"As if. they are just humans. they can't hurt us" han says as he looks at Charles who looked annoyed

At Charles' signal, the long-awaited battle began.

A sense of tension filled the air, the moment had come, and there was no turning back. The plan was set in motion, and everyone began to act on their designated roles.
