Chapter 19 - Pandemic

PANDEMIC!

The air crackled with disbelief, a palpable tension hanging over the Revolution Online forum. It wasn't just the usual excited chatter about new item, gear, partner or the latest dungeon raid; this was something different, something that had sent shockwaves like pandemic through the virtual world.

A single message, a world announcement, had turned the virtual world upside down:

[World Announcement: Player Demonic Troll had become the first player to discover a main scenario regarding the Gresham Kingdom!]

"He… he actually did it," whispered a player named "Demoncat," his avatar, a sleek black cat, twitching its whiskers nervously. "The Demonic Troll actually discovered a main scenario!"

"Impossible!" bellowed "Whistling," a hulking warrior with a virtual beard that could rival Santa Claus. "The Slavs have been mum about the main scenario for ages! This is a joke, right?"

"It's not a joke, Whistling," chimed in "ElvenSong," her avatar a graceful elf with shimmering silver hair. "I just saw the announcement. The main scenario for the Gresham Kingdom is finally here!"

The forum erupted. Players, their avatars ranging from cuddly pandas to ferocious dragons, flooded the chat with a torrent of reactions.

"Kieearrrrcchhh!!!... this is too extreme!" shrieked "Blackpheonix" his avatar a spiky-haired anime boy, pulling at his virtual hair in a fit of frustration. He then proceeded to spam the chat with a series of animated GIFs depicting his character's growing despair.

"This is insane!" exclaimed "Discze," his avatar a goofy-looking goblin with a perpetually confused expression. "He's literally going to break the game! What happens when we finish the main scenario? Is that it? Game over?"

"It's like the rest of us are just minor characters and he's the main character," lamented "Bard Of The Night," her avatar a melancholic bard with a lute slung across her back. "I want to go isekai into becoming the Demonic Troll. At least he's got the plot figured out."

The forum was a whirlwind of incredulity, confusion, and a healthy dose of envy. The Demonic Troll, who had once been known for his relentless grinding and his infamous troll-like antics, had suddenly become the center of attention again just like the day the game was first released. He was the one with the answers, the one who held the key to the game's deepest secrets. Except, he hadn't done anything at all.

"He's going to break the game!" shouted Daoist, his avatar now stomping his virtual feet in a display of frustrated rage. "He's going to ruin everything!"

"He's going to be the most powerful player ever!" countered "Jamiah," her avatar now radiating a smug grin. "He's going to get all the loot! He's going to be the hero of the game!"

"He's going to be the biggest jerk ever!" added "NoobMaster69," his avatar now shaking its fist in the air. "He's going to be the most hated player ever!"

The forum was a cacophony of conflicting opinions, a virtual echo chamber of frustration, envy, and fear. The Demonic Troll, meanwhile, remained silent. He had made no announcement, posted no videos, and yet he was the center of the virtual world's attention. It was as if he was pulling the strings from the shadows, letting the chaos unfold.

Meanwhile, in the real world, the news of the Demonic Troll's "discovery" had spread like wildfire. The internet was abuzz with speculation, conspiracy theories, and fervent debates about the implications of this revelation.

"This is bigger than the moon landing!" declared "The Daily Grind," a popular gaming news website. "This is the biggest news in the history of online gaming!"

"The Demonic Troll: Hero or Villain?" pondered "Game Informer," a respected gaming magazine. "Is he a visionary who is going to revolutionize the way we play games, or is he a reckless madman who is going to destroy everything we know and love?"

"The Demonic Troll's Revelation: A Conspiracy Theory?" questioned "Gamer's Nexus," a tech and gaming review website. "Is he really the chosen one, or is he just a pawn in a bigger game?"

The news of the Demonic Troll's "discovery" had reached the ears of the players, who were now scrambling to figure out how to handle the situation. They had never anticipated anything like this. They had never intended for the main scenario to be revealed, let alone by a player.

"This is a disaster!" exclaimed "Whistling," his avatar now looking genuinely panicked. "We're going to have to do something about this. We can't let him get away with this!"

"What are we going to do?" asked "ElvenSong," her avatar now looking worried. "We can't just ignore it. We can't let him ruin the game!"

"We need to take action," said "Blackpheonix," his voice firm. "We need to stop him. We need to control the narrative."

The players huddled together, brainstorming ways to deal with the Demonic Troll. They considered deleting his account, banning him from the game, or even releasing a patch to erase his "discovery." But they knew that any of these options would only fuel the fire of speculation and anger.

"We need to be smart about this," said "ElvenSong." "We need to find a way to turn this into a positive."

"We need to make him work for us," added "Whistling." "We need to use his discovery to our advantage."

The players spent the next few hours strategizing, their minds racing with ideas. They knew that they had to find a way to control the narrative, to turn the Demonic Troll's "revelation" into something that would benefit the game, not destroy it.

Meanwhile, in Alliance City State, the Demonic Troll's name was on everyone's lips. The news of his "discovery" had spread like wildfire, reaching every corner of the city.

"He's a legend!" declared a young player, his avatar a spiky-haired warrior with a gleaming sword. "He's the one who's going to save the world!"

"He's a madman!" countered an older player, his avatar a grizzled veteran with a weathered face. "He's going to destroy everything!"

The city was divided, with players arguing about the Demonic Troll's motives, his methods, and his impact on the game. The forums were flooded with angry posts, conspiracy theories, and calls for his head.

"He's a traitor!" shouted a player on the official Revolution Online forums. "He's betrayed the developers! He's betrayed the players! He's betrayed the game!"

"He's a hero!" countered another player. "He's given us the truth! He's given us the power to change the game! He's given us the power to control our own destiny!"

The Demonic Troll, meanwhile, continued to remain silent. He had made no announcement, posted no videos, and yet he was the center of the virtual world's attention. It was as if he was pulling the strings from the shadows, letting the chaos unfold—
