"I'm telling you for the 20th time, it's not that serious." Xianyun huffs following a sigh.
"It is serious! You fell off a gigantic snow mountain! If it wasn't for those passing hitchers and riders using the evols, you would've been done for!" Tara exclaimed, even pointing a finger in Xianyun's direction.
Xianyun sighed and sat back in her chair. They were inside a small coffee shop in Linkon city. Tara, a dear friend of Xianyun, is a rookie who works at the Hunter Association with me. They both started at the same time, however, she works in Data Analysis while Xianyun was assigned to the Alpha Team. They've known each other for quite awhile now.
"Yeah…well…thankfully one of the riders saw me while they were going downhill. Luckily, his evol was ice." Xianyun said.
Tara sighed and shook her head.
"Yes, thankfully that person did save you before your injuries could've gotten worse. However, they were wearing a mask and goggles, so I never got to see their faces. I couldn't tell if it was a guy or gal."
Xianyun thought about it for a second. "They looked to be a guy based on their attire."
"Maybe. But, we can't really assume they are one. Everyone has a unique style. They might be a gal."
Before Xianyun could reply, she halted.
"Tara."
"Hm?"
"Can I ask you a question?"
"What's up?"
"Why do you say gal?"
Tara stared back at her before letting out a small chuckle. She took a small sip of her matcha latte.
"It's just my accent silly!" She continued to chuckle.
A smile launched itself onto Xianyun's face. This was the goofy friend Tara has known. Her humor, joyful spirit, and sweet personality is what captured Xianyun's attention. She decides to move the conversation forward.
"So, it seems I'll have to take some time off as a hunter."
Tara's playfulness dies down and she becomes more serious.
"Darn straight! You cannot be out on a mission covered in bandages. You're injured on your face, neck, arms, hands, and more all scattered throughout your body. I don't even know how you're able to breathe normally right now."
Xianyun scratched her neck thinking about her injuries.
"Yeah…luckily, I know someone who is a doctor. He came to my apartment the minute I told him about the incident. My injuries aren't that bad…just minor cuts and severe bruising."
Tara stared at Xianyun dumbfounded.
"MINOR CUTS AND SEVERE BRUSING!?"
"Shh!!! Lower your voice, Tara. We're in a coffee shop. Public space, remember?" Xianyun said, a bit embarrassed by her friend's random outburst.
"Don't shush me. This is serious Xianyun! Please tell me you went and got actually treated at a doctor's office or at a hospital?"
Xianyun sighed before looking out the window. She briefly recalled what happened after the accident.
