Chapter 5 - Out Of Sea

Day 05

Nabil shivered uncontrollably, his body too weak to move. His inventory was nearly empty, save for the chest he had stashed.

"At this point, I have no hope of survival. All I can wish for is a swift death. But the thought of dying terrifies me. I just want to go home," he thought despondently.

He managed to sit up and noticed, to his dismay, that all the dolphins had vanished.

"Did they die last night?"Nabil wondered in growing panic, scanning the horizon.

Suddenly, a lone dolphin emerged from the water, a fish clamped in its mouth. It was the leader of the pod.

"For me?" Nabil asked, barely able to contain his surprise.

The dolphin nodded in affirmation.

Nabil took the fish reluctantly, "I don't need it. You should eat it. If you stay with me, you'll die too."

The dolphin responded by splashing water on him, then returned to pushing the boat.

"Saving me is pointless. I can't repay you for your sacrifice. Please, leave me. If I'm meant to survive, I'll do so without your help," Nabil pleaded.

The dolphin ignored him and continued its struggle.

Nabil, hungry and desperate, began eating the raw fish. His teeth scraped against the fish bones, causing them to pierce his gums and make them bleed.

"I used to hate fish because of the bones. Now, I'm eating it raw, just to stay alive,"he thought bitterly.

To the dolphin, Nabil said, "You're the last one. I won't let you die in vain. This fish has given me some strength. I'll do everything I can to save you."

Nighttime

Nabil fashioned sharp sticks from the remaining wood, determined to defend the dolphin against the Pnhadu Fish.

"I'll use these to fight off the Pnhadu Fish and protect you," he resolved.

As the Pnhadu Fish appeared, Nabil hurled the sticks with all his strength. He managed to wound several of the creatures, but one grabbed the dolphin, pulling it violently.

Desperately, Nabil jumped into the water to save the dolphin. He reached the struggling creature and struck the Pnhadu Fish with the sticks, killing it. The dolphin was freed and, with Nabil's help, they returned to the boat.

The remaining Pnhadu Fish, however, were relentless. Nabil continued to fight them off, but the saltwater and exhaustion took their toll. He was pulled back to the boat by the dolphin, but he began to vomit and lost consciousness.

Day 06

Nabil woke up, shivering from the cold.

"Caught a cold, huh?" he mumbled, recalling the dolphin. He looked around and saw the dolphin still alive, pushing the boat.

"I'm glad you're still here," Nabil said weakly before collapsing back onto the boat.

---

Three Hours Later

Dark clouds gathered, and rain began to pour. Nabil, parched and desperate, welcomed the rain.

"Finally, some clean water," he murmured, opening his mouth to catch the droplets.

As the rain intensified, he covered himself with the leaves he had collected and fell asleep, hoping the rain would bring some relief.

Two hours later, he awoke to find the boat filled with water and starting to sink.

"The boat's sinking!" he thought, scrambling to his feet. But his weakness caused him to topple overboard. Struggling to stay afloat, his vision blurred as he was pulled under.

The dolphin, brave and determined, managed to rescue him. It nudged him back onto the boat and attempted to right it with its powerful tail. But as the boat was steadied, a sudden tornado formed, wreaking havoc on the sea.

The dolphin fought against the storm, but the tornado's ferocity was too much. The boat was shattered, and Nabil, along with the dolphin, was thrown into the maelstrom. A piece of wood struck Nabil's head, causing it to bleed. The blood mingled with the stormy waters, adding to the chaos.

---

Nabil opened his eyes, disoriented. His body lay half-submerged in cold, muddy water, the other half sprawled on the ground.

"Land? Did I reach land?" Nabil croaked, his voice barely a whisper as he gazed at the shore.

He tried to stand, but his legs gave way, and he collapsed into the muck. His breathing was ragged, each breath coming with effort. He began to vomit, the acidic bile mixed with streaks of blood. Pain radiated through his entire body, and he realized his chest was bleeding. Glancing at his left arm, he saw it was grotesquely twisted, clearly broken. His vision in his right eye was a mere blur.

Suddenly, an arrow struck his right shoulder. The impact caused him to cry out in agony. Another arrow pierced his already injured right eye, exacerbating his pain.

< A player attacked you. He is in bloodlust mode. >

"What? Again?" Nabil moaned. "I was sent to die. Maybe it's time to let go."

A third arrow lodged itself in his chest. He howled in pain, the sound mingling with his sobs.

In his blurred vision, he saw a figure in iron armor soaring toward him, wielding a sword and a bow.

"Oh, you're still alive," said the armored figure, his voice dripping with contempt.

Nabil, barely able to speak, managed to say, "Who are you? If you're here to kill me, just do it. I have no more fight left."

"Whoa, so you're giving up? You don't want to live?" The armored man's tone was almost incredulous.

"I don't know what I want anymore. I've lost the will to fight. Just end it," Nabil replied, his voice breaking.

"I never thought killing would be this easy," the armored man sneered, drawing his sword and aiming it at Nabil's head.

Before the sword could strike, an arrow whizzed through the air, hitting the armored man's sword.

The armored man turned to see a figure in female diamond armor—elegant yet deadly—standing not far away.

"Wow, you found me. Let me finish off this boy for points, then we can settle things," the armored man said.

"That's precisely why I'm here," the woman's voice was cold and resolute. "I can't let you kill someone just for points. If it wasn't you, I might not have intervened."

"Don't try to lecture me. I was willing to overlook you if you had accepted my offer, but you didn't. It's not like I'm just some random guy. I'm your ex. Don't you see? Even the gods seem to have thrown us together here," the man continued, frustration evident in his voice.

"Don't try to talk your way out of this. I've made my decision—I'll kill you before I die at your hands," the woman declared fiercely.

"Fine, let's see how you plan to do that. I won't let you succeed," the man retorted, launching himself at the woman.

The battle was fierce. The man flew at the woman, but she teleported, evading his attack. She reappeared behind him, striking swiftly. The man countered, but his sword was shattered by the woman's blade. He began firing arrows, but she dodged with ease. When he attempted another attack, she teleported, landing a blow on his helmet, causing it to fall.

The man had reddish-brown hair and striking silver eyes.

As the woman aimed a fatal strike at him, the man pressed a button from his pocket, causing a sudden swap of positions between him and Nabil. The woman's sword, intended for the man, struck Nabil's throat instead.

Nabil's world erupted in pain as blood gushed from his wound. He fell to the ground, clutching his throat, barely conscious.

Seeing this, the man quickly ascended into the sky. The woman, now alone with Nabil, knelt beside him, her gaze filled with conflicted emotions. The system alert for her flashed:

"One billion coins… That's a fortune," Athoi543 murmured, her voice laced with uncertainty. "But I need to consider my own survival first."

With a grim expression, she drew her sword once more, positioning it above Nabil's chest. She hesitated for a moment, then drove the blade into him. Each subsequent stab was driven by a mix of duty and anguish, as she repeatedly struck, the sound of metal cutting flesh echoing in the silent night.
