Chapter 7 - lions Attack

< You've reached Level 02 >

A tree crashed to the ground with a thud.

"Alright, I've reached Level 02. Will there be any benefits now compared to Level 01?" Nabil asked, surveying the fallen tree.

< Yes, your reflexes have increased. >

"That's it?" Nabil responded, sounding disappointed.

< Yes. >

Nabil started chopping the tree into pieces, stacking the logs with growing fatigue. After a while, he lay down on the ground, his exhaustion catching up with him.

"At least it's safe during the day. No one will attack me," he thought while resting. Then he suddenly remembered the dolphin. "Wait, what happened to the dolphin? The last thing I remember…"

---

In the midst of a violent storm, the boat had been torn apart, and a tornado had separated him from the dolphin. Nabil had struck a large rock and begun sinking. The dolphin had managed to rescue him briefly before they were both swallowed by a massive blue whale.

---

Nabil shuddered at the memory. "I don't know how I survived. Did the dolphin die? I couldn't do anything…"

As he was lost in thought, a lion's gaze fell upon him, its eyes narrowing as it slowly approached.

Without warning, the lion leaped at him. Nabil's reflexes kicked in, and he dodged the attack.

"What the... is that a lion?" he exclaimed, looking around to see two lions and four lionesses with predatory stares.

The lions attacked from different angles. Nabil tried to fend them off, his sword barely grazing one of the lionesses.

"I have to fight back!" Nabil shouted, drawing his sword.

A lioness pounced from behind. Nabil swung his sword, striking her in the eye before sprinting away. The lions gave chase.

"My speed isn't fast enough to escape. I can't fight in this armor. I need to get to the cave," Nabil thought desperately.

One lion reached the cave before him and blocked his path. Nabil dodged, but another lioness bit his leg. He stabbed the lioness in the head, but she didn't release her grip.

More lions arrived, their jaws tearing at him, and he screamed in agony.

"I have to do something!" Nabil cried out. He opened his inventory and began summoning his armor, even as the lions continued their assault.

As his armor materialized, the lions hesitated, momentarily stunned.

< Inventory works on command when you want to retrieve an item. >

With his body now armored, Nabil rose and prepared to fight. "Now, attack me!" he roared.

The lions charged, and Nabil swung his sword with renewed strength. He cleaved through one male lion, causing the others to retreat in terror.

Exhausted and wounded, Nabil collapsed. "I thought the pain was over. I thought I was safe…"

< The suffering has only begun. You're doing well. Keep surviving. >

The armored woman teleported through the sky, her purple eyes glowing as she traversed great distances. She reached a wall covered in a shimmering energy field and noticed her armor starting to dissolve.

< System: Armor will melt in the energy field. >

Removing her armor, she stored it in her inventory and continued her journey. With dark red hair and striking purple eyes, she wore a flowing blue leather dress and black pants.

Entering the energy-covered area, she teleported to the top of the wall and gazed at a sprawling village with a grand castle at its center.

< Location: Gutulamu Village >

< Dominant Species: Elf >

"Are they hostile?" she inquired.

< Unknown. They are intelligent and can be either friendly or hostile based on their perspective. >

"Got it. I'll need to tread carefully. At least I can gather some resources here," she decided.

Teleporting into the village market, she observed elves—humanlike creature with distinctive ears and short

Seeing her all the elves around looked at her in wonder as if they were looking at something unknown to them.

"My ears have also changed post-transformation," she mused. "They resemble elven ears but are not identical."

< The transformation enhances hearing abilities, and player ears mimic elven ears for blending in. However, elves can still distinguish between them. Elves typically have yellow hair, which players will never possess. >

"Oh, that explains it. My hair turned red due to my healing ability," she noted.

< Healing energy is red, not green. Green is associated with plants, which can aid in healing, but true healing energy is red. >

Night time

Nabil sat inside the cave, trying to spark a fire by striking one stone against another.

"Aghhh, why can't I make it? I thought it was easy," he said, frustration evident on his face.

< Take off your armour; it will help you get a better grip. >

Nabil removed his armour and saw his body bleeding from the lions' scratches and bites. He resumed striking the stones together and, on the eleventh attempt, finally managed to ignite the wood.

"Finally, I did it," Nabil said with a mix of relief and triumph. The firelight illuminated the cave, casting shadows on the lion's corpse. Using his sword, he cut a piece of meat from the lion and held it over the fire.

"Now I have to eat lion meat. I hope this doesn't cause any problems," he said, taking a bite of a mango with his other hand.

Suddenly, a voice echoed in his mind: "From Rat to the Mighty Dragon. You are the king of all. If you die, all pawns will cry. So think again before you want to die, or everyone will crumble and start to cry."

Nabil clutched his head, the voice resonating painfully. "This sound again. What does it mean? It's the second time this voice has hit my brain."

The meat was ready, but Nabil's thoughts lingered on the message. "What could that mean? I'm a king? King of what? Rat, dragon..."

He glanced at the lion's corpse, remembering his ability. "Wait, my ability is to tame pets. Does that mean I can tame anyone from rats to dragons? If that's true, I could have tamed the lions. And if I die, they will crumble and cry?"

He paused, realizing the implications. "Am I killing animals who care about me? They attacked first, and I had no choice but to defend myself."

He inspected his body, noticing the lion's scratches weren't too deep. "Are lions tameable?" he asked.

< Yes, they are tameable by you. >

"So I could have tamed them. They didn't want to kill me like the fish. They attacked me lightly but were aggressive..."

He shook his head. "Now it's useless thinking about that. Next time, I'll try to tame them. I shouldn't regret defending myself."

He took a bite of the lion meat and said, "Show me my stats."

"My survival possibility increased, and I'm not last in the ranking anymore. That's great," Nabil said, laying down and removing his tattered t-shirt. "The t-shirt is useless now."

He closed his eyes and fell asleep.

2:00 AM

Nabil shivered in the cold and woke up, noticing the fire had gone out. He tried to wear his t-shirt again, but it didn't help. Seeing the lion's thick skin, he used it as a blanket to protect himself from the cold.

Day 09

Nabil woke up to the morning light. Looking at the lion's body, he thought, "If I take off its skin, I can make clothes or a blanket."

< Yes, you can. >

Nabil started to skin the lion, feeling bad but knowing it was necessary. He managed to remove the skin from the lion's chest.

"I'm sorry, but I had to do this," he said to the dead lion.

< Leather armor and costumes can be made from the lion's skin. Tap to create. >

Nabil tapped, and the tattoo consumed the lion's skin.

< It will take 5 minutes to make. >

While waiting, he went outside to cut more wood.

< Leather armored costume creation completed. >

The dress fell to the ground, revealing a full-sleeved orange sweater made of lion skin leather, leather pants, shoes, and a hat.

"Wow, it looks really good," Nabil said, putting it on. "It's really light and better."

< It's made with weather-based transformation; you won't feel too hot in summer and will stay warm in winter. It reduces damage, and you can wear armor over it. >

"Yeah, I get it," Nabil said, feeling good but slightly unhappy.

Just then, the same lions arrived at the cave.

Nabil looked at them and picked up his sword. The lions walked slowly toward him. He sent the sword back to his inventory and stood with empty hands.

"Hey, lions. Look, don't attack me. I know you don't understand my language, but because of my power, you can understand what I'm saying. Stop."

The lions lowered their head.
