Chapter 2 - Transmigration

[POV: ???]

I woke up to a faint ringing sound that blended with the faint chirping of birds welcoming the dawn. The room was bathed in a gentle, golden light that seeped through the heavy velvet curtains. I stretched beneath the warmth of the quilt, feeling its rich texture against my skin, and took in the scent of aged wood and something faintly floral—a mix of lavender and roses, maybe—that seemed to linger in the air.

After scanning the luxurious room I currently occupied, my brain came back up to speed. The room around me was unfamiliar. I blinked a few times, trying to clear up the fog from my mind, but the disorientation only grew.

I sat up feeling a strange stiffness in my limbs. Though the bed I was currently in felt soft and inviting, it felt foreign. Not like the rough cotton I was used to. I ran a hand over the silky sheets trying to anchor in something familiar, but nothing came. My breathing was shallow, the sound unnervingly loud in the stillness of the room. "Where am I?" i muttered. I suddenly jolted up surprised by the change in my voice. The voice had a higher pitch and felt more silky and smooth rather than the deep and croaky I was used to. Anxiety started to creep in.

I scanned the room—large furniture loomed in the shadows, a dresser, a tall wardrobe, both dark and old but still had semblance of luxury. The walls were covered in thick wallpaper, the pattern indistinct in the gloom. I swung my legs over the side of the bed, my bare feet touching cool wooden floorboards. The sensation was grounding, but the anxiety in my chest didn't ease.

I stood, unsteady, and took a few tentative steps. My head was spinning, the unfamiliarity of everything around me pressing down like a weight. I didn't recognize the place, didn't know how I got here. The last thing I remembered... I strained, but nothing came. A void, a blank space where my memories should be. I know I was playing a game. But after that, nothing about how I'm here

Panic started to creep in, cold and suffocating. I took light steps towards the door I suppose is the bathroom. Walking felt uncomfortable and different likelihood due to the disorientation of my mind. I twisted the metal handle and opened the door. First things first, was to look in the mirror. There I was left astounded. I was quite tall roughly 5"11 for how old I look which is about 17. with a slightly athletic build that hinted at strength, though not overly muscular.

My skin was pale, almost porcelain, contrasting sharply with the jet-black hair that was cut short and neat, framing my face in a way that accentuated my sharp features.

My eyes were striking—an intense, almost unnatural shade of red that drew attention immediately. They were deep, with a glimmer of something unreadable, as if I held secrets that no one could easily decipher. My face was well-defined, with high cheekbones and a strong jawline, giving me an air of both youth and maturity.

Suddenly, my head started to ache. I tried to ignore it at first, thinking it would pass like any other headache, but within minutes, it intensified. The pain spread across my forehead, pressing down as if a vise was tightening around my skull. Memories, foreign and familiar started to invade. After a few minutes what seemed like hours, the throbbing in my head ceased and all came clear. "I'm Lucas Greymore" I said feeling nothing but dread and sorrow.

It turns out that I transmigrated into the game 'Hearts of the fallen realm' a game I've dedicated myself to. It's a popular romance fantasy game played by everyone yet notorious for its hellish like difficulty. It's so hard that even with the protagonist having all his cheats it's still nigh impossible to beat. Resulting in the destruction of the world if the player does not beat the game. "I'm screwed!"I said feeling dreadful. It turns out that I transmigrated not as the protagonist nor even a side character but as one of the third-rate-villains for the protagonist to utilise to grow. I felt an urgency grow within me, a feeling to grow strong and survive because as I am now, I'm done for.

Honestly this character is so stupid[A|N: just called himself stupid]. Like how did he go and brazenly try to kill the protagonist due to jealousy and inferiority only for him to get expelled from the academy meeting an untimely demise, whilst the protagonist unlocks one of his cheats."Gah! It's too unfair!!". Where's my system! After calming down, I tried to get my priorities straight. First thing first, I need to find a way to get stronger and avoid the protagonist and then I can try to find the reason why I'm here.

"Young master…young master!"

I heard a far cry through coming for outside my room. Quickly I washed my face and went back to the comfort of my bed. I'm only going there because I need to act in proper fashion not because that bed is too damn nice. Definitely not… ahem!

The door swung open and there stood a stunner of a woman. She stood at the edge of the room, her presence both graceful and commanding. She had a delicate beauty that seemed almost otherworldly. Her long, white hair cascaded down her back like a silken waterfall, its pale strands shimmering faintly in the light. The contrast of her hair against her maid dress was striking—her dress was a deep, elegant black with crisp white lace accents along the collar, cuffs, and apron. The simple yet refined attire highlighted her well proportioned figure, the fabric clinging gently to her curves before flaring out into a modest skirt that swayed slightly with each movement.

Her eyes were a captivating shade of blue, like the clearest summer sky, framed by long lashes. There was a depth to them, a softness that belied her composed exterior, as if they held unspoken stories. Her features were delicate, with high cheekbones, a small, straight nose, and full lips.

Despite the beauty of her face, it was consumed by fear and reverence. "Young master are you alright? I heard you shouting! Is everything fine?" Her voice was beautiful and soft. "I'm fine." I replied trying to mask the astonishment by her beauty. "Can you tell me what happened and why I'm in the bed in the middle of the day Luna?"

"Young master you remember my name?" She replied baffled. Ah yes I'm not supposed to remember her name as I'm supposed to find commoners to be below me. "You didn't answer my question?" I said haughtily playing the part of an arrogant young master. "Ah yes I apologise. The young master fainted a day ago and has been brought here ever since" she replied in panic.

I see…that must be something to do with my transmigration. Let's think about all that on a full stomach as I'm starving. "Luna is my family having lunch right now?"

"Yes young master they are currently having lunch"

"Luna tell the chef to prepare some food for me as I'm going to eat with my family" I say hoping nothing goes wrong there.

"Yes young master"

After Luna left, I was shocked to see how beautiful the one of the main heroines of "Hearts of the fallen realm" are. Honestly their beauty surpasses all models on earth.

Enough of that, I need to get ready to have lunch with my 'family'.
