Lisa's POV
It was late that very day the kids were back at home, and so was Noah. I was mostly in shock, but I could finally say a word or two; Dad hadn't said anything yet. He hadn't called, but he promised he would, so I waited just to hear from him before I decided what to do next.
I felt unfulfilled staying back as he had insisted, maybe I could take the next flight back home. I might take the kids and Steph too. There was no way the kids wouldn't know we were back in town. They would want to see her, but I could maneuver their wants; I might sneak out and maybe see her if she was asleep.
"Take," I was handed a cup of warm tea.
"It will help with the headache, and take this for your sore eyes too." I was handed a tube for eye drops, which I dropped at the side, not wanting to taint the taste of my tea.
