Chapter 15 - Moon spirit

Teyat was completely split in two by the handsome man with gentle yet sharp features.

However, shortly after his body was divided, the water beneath the black flames began to calmly and slowly move toward the two halves of his split body.

The liquid slowly moved from the ground toward the separated halves of Teyat's body, and then suddenly covered the ends of both halves.

At the ends of the two split bodies, the water started to merge the two separate parts into one.

The black water slowly floated in the air toward the other end of the divided body.

After a brief moment, the black water reached its counterpart, which had gathered at the straight line where Teyat had been split at the waist.

It was as if a bridge made of black water appeared between the two halves of Teyat's body, matching the width of the bodies and the distance between them.

This bridge of black water connected the two ends, and as the bodies rapidly merged, the black water dispersed as the bodies fell to the ground, disappearing entirely.

Teyat's body, having been split in two, was reunited by a bridge made of black water.

In an instant, as he came back to life, Teyat gasped for breath, overwhelmed by panic, and gripped his wound with one hand while raising the other toward the dark sky, where only the moon's majestic light shone. Yes, there was pain here too. Pain was everywhere. It was the only constant in the universe, the one feeling all living beings experienced.

Perhaps only the God who created the universe was exempt from this feeling. But who's to say that God didn't suffer too?

One hand stretched wide toward the dark sky, and the other clutched the place where his body had been split in two.

He continued to breathe rapidly. The cause of his frantic breath was the sensation of death that had touched him for just a millisecond.

"W-what?! I just felt myself die..."

After a moment of fast breathing, he suddenly lowered the hand pointing at the sky and directed it toward his headless body lying on the ground.

He looked at his hands in panic and confusion.

Then, half-raising his headless torso, he frantically looked at his abdomen, where his death wound should have been.

But he could see neither a wound nor a scratch.

He raised his head to ask the handsome man with the gentle and kind face what had happened.

However, what he saw when he looked up sent a wave of fear through his headless body.

The reason for the fear that gripped his headless body was that the man in the crimson robe was no longer the gentle and polite figure he had been. The sharp features of his handsome face were now consumed by darkness, leaving no trace of his former self.

The man in the crimson robe was now staring coldly and terrifyingly at Teyat, his face obscured by shadows except for his eyes, as he lay on the ground in a panic.

'Is this terrifying man really the same one who called me "my lord" with such kindness? Why didn't I die? Damn it...'

"Know your place and listen."

"Shut up. Someone I don't know or recognize just handed me my own head and now tells me to know my place?"

The man in the crimson robe and headless Teyat exchanged cold, unyielding words.

The crimson-robed man took a step forward, his face emerging from the shadows and into the dim light.

Then he took another step. Slowly but surely, he walked toward headless Teyat with calm, deliberate steps.

He approached and stood right in front of him. He knew that the headless heir, now half-sitting and staring at him from the ground, was watching him with a face filled with invisible darkness and fury.

The man in the crimson robe looked down once more, his darkened face obscured, except for his eyes, which had now turned a mixture of black and white, and gazed at the heir lying before him.

Then, with a sudden shift, he leaned forward and smiled at Teyat.

"Hey, hey, calm down, my lord. The reason for this long, absurd clash and your missing head is that in the world where you committed suicide, only your head was destroyed. And now, since you've entered the realm of the Dark Lineage, the place we are currently in, known as the 'Moon Soul,' you've arrived without your head."

An embarrassed expression appeared on Teyat's otherwise expressionless face.

"I-I understand. I apologize for my actions, Mr. Handsome Man."

'At least let me die properly... Ugh, I want to erase my existence...'

The crimson-robed man extended his hand to the dark soul sitting before him, offering it in a friendly gesture.

And with genuine sincerity, he spoke softly.

"It's no problem, my lord. I apologize for my rude behavior as well. I was momentarily upset."

Teyat stood up.

'Damn it, I judged this kind-hearted man too quickly, and I hate people who are judgmental. Ah, I should work on fixing myself before I try to critique others.'

'Wait... Just now it hit me... Wasn't I supposed to die? Where is this place? The "Moon Soul" realm? Huh?'

Because his head was missing, and he was holding it with his own hands, he looked around in confusion, trying to make sense of what was happening.

Once again, he found himself mesmerized by the majestic beauty of the moon gazing down at him from the sky.

'Ahh, it's so beautiful... Damn it! Now is not the time to be captivated by the moon's beauty!'
