Ishi sat up in bed, his thoughts racing as he continued to piece together the situation. The memories of this body began to surface, almost perfectly, as if it was originally his own. He quickly went through all of them, remembering every detail.
*This body is around twelve years old,* he concluded. The memories confirmed it. He appeared to have grown up in a wealthy and comfortable home. The boy had been trained very well in terms of academics and combat. His suspicions were right, his parents appeared to be ex army or some sort of war heroes. Could the Goddess really not find any other body that could house his soul?
*Why else would the Goddess choose this body?* he wondered. Suddenly he felt a sharp but familiar presence in his mind, the Goddess herself, speaking directly into his mind.
*Ishi,* her voice echoed softly in his thoughts, *You are pretty much right. The boy was already unusually strong with high mental fortitude, it was one of the only bodies that could support and sustain the transfer of your soul and power. It really wasn't an easy process, though… far from it.* (sfx: goddess giggling)
Ishi questioned further. *What do you mean?*
*Your power, even when condensed and partially sealed, was far more unstable than I anticipated,* the Goddess admitted. *When I began transferring your soul and its information into this boy's body, the process was anything but easy. In fact, I underestimated just how powerful you really were in full honesty.*
Ishi felt a nervous chuckle escape him, finally starting to understand what may have happened. *What exactly happened?*
*The first two attempts… didn't go as planned,* she confessed, her voice growing more serious. *I had to rewind time at least twice. Each time I failed, the instability of your power obliterated the entire multiverse, reducing it to quite literally nothing. Not just this one, either, at least hundreds of other multiverses were wiped out as well, and just the shockwaves of those failures even reached higher dimensions, far beyond the fifth dimension of this universe. It was… catastrophic to say the least.*
Ishi smiled nervously, unsure wether to be proud of his power or just shocked. *You... no, I destroyed entire multiverses the first 2 attempts?… just to place me in this body?*
*Yes,* the Goddess replied calmly. *But at after first 2 times, I succeeded. I managed to stabilize your power within this body without tearing all of reality to literal shreds, though it was close.*
Ishi let out another nervous laugh, the weight of what she was saying pressing down on him.
The Goddess continued, her tone turning more cautious. *And that's why you need to be extremely careful, especially when using any of your abilities. The beings of this multiverse are unusually strong for their kind, but even a small, uncontrolled fraction of your power could cause widespread chaos. You could inadvertently destroy everything around you if you're not careful.*
Ishi responded after a lot of thought. *So… I need to hold back. A lot.*
*Exactly,* the Goddess said.
Ishi nodded, even though he knew she could sense his understanding. *I'll be careful.*
*Good,* the Goddess said, her voice softening again. *This is a new beginning for you, Ishi. Don't waste it.*
With that, her presence faded, leaving Ishi alone with his thoughts again. He glanced around the room again. This was his life now...
But despite the seriousness of the situation, a small smile tugged at his lips. *So I'm living in the body of a strong, rich kid with famous parents…* he thought, trying to find some humor in it. *This might not be so bad.*
