Chapter 2 - User not found

It was a quiet ride home, Addison thought as she looked at the drops of rain hitting the passenger window while the driver carefully navigated the traffic.

It was already 3 PM when she was released from the hospital, and, of course, her wealthy husband had covered all expenses.

She smirked and shook her head. It was a relief to finally speak with Kael regarding the divorce.

But no one knew about it because the divorce filing was going to cover everything that was included in their marriage contract.

Marriage?

Is that even a word?

But she was grateful because, above everything else, she remained intact, pure, innocent, and so, in essence, she hadn't really lost anything, except two years of her life.

The car slowed down as it entered the gates of Williams Montenegro's villa, well, the house that was supposedly hers.

Why was he here?

Addison got out of the vehicle and thanked Sean.

She opened the door to the house.

"Good morning, Ms. Addison," the butler said.

"Is Williams in the house?" Addison asked.

"Yes, ma'am, he is upstairs with Miss Ivy," the butler replied with a grim look.

"Oh, thank you, Alex," Addison said as she went straight to her room.

She went to her closet, surprised to hear Williams in the shower.

She just shook her head as she started removing her clothes.

"You are back," Williams said as he stepped into the walk-in closet. Addison took the nearest jacket and put it on, not wanting Williams to see her body.

She turned around and leaned against the door. "What are you doing in my room?" She asked.

"Addison, this is my room too," he said, droplets of water falling on his black robe as he toweled himself dry.

"Oh, I wasn't aware. I am sorry," Addison said as she grabbed her house clothes and started walking to the bathroom.

"You can change here," Williams said, eyeing Addison's chest. "I don't mind."

"I do," Addison said, stepping inside and locking the door.

How dare he come here after leaving her at the hospital.

Well, how dare he act like he cares for her when everything is just a contract.

She quickly changed into her pajamas, washed her face, and brushed her teeth. She was tired and just wanted to sleep.

Addison stepped outside of the room, surprised to see that Williams wasn't there anymore. Instead, she found him sitting at the foot of the bed, waiting for her, already dressed in a suit and tie.

"How are you feeling, Addison?" Williams asked tenderly.

Addison snapped at him deadpanned, "Why do you care? I already donated blood, so you don't need to be nice to me. Your business is done with me, right?" She stared at him, then turned around to go to bed.

Williams looked at his wife, someone he married to save his best friend's fiancée, Ivy.

Ivy, whose unrequited love stayed unrequited until after the accident when she needed blood. That was what she needed to finally achieve what she wanted: Williams's undivided attention.

A brisk knock at the door interrupted the silence.

Williams opened the door to find Ivy smiling. "Are you ready to leave, Liam?"

Williams turned around and saw Addison already sleeping.

Addison, who had agreed to marry him in exchange for blood and money. He knew nothing about her, and he didn't want to because if he allowed himself to start falling for the omega sleeping on their matrimonial bed, there would be no turning back.

He looked at her with a pang of longing, knowing he couldn't do anything about it.

He looked at her with pain in his heart because the scent that wafted was so sweet and addicting, and he knew that Addison's heat would arrive, and there was nothing he could do about it.

The moment Addison heard the Ferrari driving away, she sat up, went to her closet, and took the luggage from the room's storage space.

She took a deep breath and looked around the place. It was impressively beautiful, but she would not miss it because this house was just a prison that held her for two years, and finally, she decided to free herself from her captor.

She finished packing when the Butler knocked at the door. "Ms. Addison?"

"Yes, Alec?"

"A man named Nathaniel and Kael are here to see you," he said as Addison opened the door, already ready to leave.

"Oh, is that so?" Addison said as she rolled two big suitcases out of the room.

"Where are you going, ma'am?" Butler Alec asked.

Addison didn't respond. The moment she saw Nathaniel and Kael at the bottom of the steps, she rolled her eyes and shook her head.

She darted Kael an angry glare. "How did he find out?"

Nathaniel came up to Addison and whispered, "You just don't hire our family lawyer and not expect me to find out, would you?"

Both men took the luggage from Addison and went down the stairs and straight to the door.

She then turned to Butler Alex. "Thank you for being kind to me, Alex. Thank you for always treating me nicely."

The butler already had his hand on the phone, ready to call Master Montenegro.

"Where are you going, ma'am?"

"I am leaving for good," Addison said and bowed to the butler.

"Thank you again." She looked at the entrance of the house.

It was beautiful for sure. A breathtaking prison that held her captive for so long. She got inside the Ferrari Purosangue.

Addison just shook her head. "Wow, this is nice!"

"Actually, this is yours," Nathaniel said as they put on their seatbelts.

"Nice. Is this what I get for filing for divorce?" She looked at her brother seriously.

"Yes. It's from father, a welcome-back gift to you," Nathaniel said.

Addison turned to Kael. "You are supposed to be my best friend."

"But your brother is my boss," he smiled at Addison.

---

"Master Montenegro?" Butler Alex said on the phone as the magnificent car drove away, and it didn't have any plates.

"Yes, Alex?" Williams said as he dropped Ivy off at her apartment.

"Ms. Addison left," he said hesitantly.

"Oh, where is she going?" Williams frowned.

The last time he saw the omega, she was peacefully asleep.

He had been interested in Addison ever since he first saw her.

But he never let that interest grow because he didn't want to lead her on.

"Sir, she didn't just leave. She left, permanently."

Williams ended the call and dialed Addison's phone number.

"The number you have dialed is not in service."

Not in service? How could it be not in service?

He stepped on the gas and went back to the villa. He bolted up the stairs and barged into the bedroom.

Addison was not there, and the bed was neatly arranged.

He ran to the closet, and there was nothing.

He opened the drawers, and all were empty.

He went to the bathroom, and everything was clean.

She had just left three hours ago, and now it was empty.

He then swiped his phone to see Addison's latest social media activity.

What the fuck?

Williams's hurried steps echoed throughout the house. "Alex?"

"Yes, sir?"

"What is Addison's last name? Do you know?"

"No, sir. All you have told us about her was just that her name was Addison," Butler Alex said.

Williams frowned.

He looked at the bank account he had set up for her, $10m still intact, still untouched.

He would meet with his lawyers tomorrow because he knew that when they got married, she was not allowed to leave him and that she would have to pay him back the amount he had paid.

He was surprised by everything. How could Addison just leave him like that?
