His qi flowed into them like a soft current, warm and soothing, mending their shattered forms. His energy wrapped around them like a protective cocoon, breathing life back into their fragile bodies.
A soft glow enveloped his hand, the faint light of his energy seeping into their scales, healing them. He could feel their breathing... shallow, but steady.
His lips curled into the faintest of smiles, a smile that didn't reach his eyes, as his vision began to fade. The world around him blurred, the sounds of jeering and mocking fading into the background as darkness swallowed him whole.
