Chapter 1 - First ghram 1

---

**It was a moonlit night when I first saw her.**

She was walking back from her tuition classes, her long hair swaying in the breeze, and my heart skipped a beat. I had never believed in love at first sight, but in that moment, I was lost. From that night onwards, every time I saw her, it was like the stars themselves conspired to make our paths cross. But every time I gathered the courage to propose, she rejected me, leaving me with a broken heart.

**Until one fateful night.**

The phone rang in the middle of the night. It was her voice on the other end, shaky yet determined.

*"Come to my house. Now!"*

Without a second thought, I jumped on my bicycle and raced through the quiet streets, my heart pounding faster than the pedals. When I arrived, she was standing outside, dressed in a simple salwar kameez, her eyes filled with desperation.

*"What happened?"* I asked, catching my breath.

*"Take me away,"* she whispered, tears glistening in the moonlight.

*"Why? What's going on?"*

*"My parents have arranged my marriage... with someone else."*

My heart dropped.

*"So... do you want to marry me?"* I asked, my voice barely audible.

She nodded.

*"Then why did you reject me all this time?"*

*"I wanted you to be stable, to ask for my hand once you had a job. But now... now it's too late. My parents won't back down. They won't listen to me."*

I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the moment.

*"Tomorrow,"* I said, *"meet me at the marriage bureau at 12 o'clock. We'll figure this out together."*

She nodded again, and with one last glance, disappeared into her house.

**The next day** came like a storm of emotions. I waited at the marriage bureau, eyes glued to the clock. Hours passed, and there was no sign of her. The sun set, and the cold grip of night returned. Midnight came, and with it, a knock on my door.

I opened it to find her standing there. She was dressed in a red saree, adorned with bridal jewelry. Her eyes were swollen from crying, yet she looked as stunning as ever.

*"My parents locked me in a room all day. I ran away,"* she confessed, her voice trembling.

I pulled her inside. My parents were out of town, so we were alone in the house. There was something intoxicating about her presence, the scent of jasmine lingering in the air. She looked at me shyly, and before I could say a word, we were drawn to each other like magnets. That night, under the silence of the stars, we became one.

**For a week**, it was like living in a dream. We spent every moment together, hidden from the world. My parents returned, but oddly, they seemed not to acknowledge her presence. I thought they were angry, disappointed, refusing to accept our relationship.

One morning, just as I was getting ready to leave the house, she emerged from the bathroom wearing nothing but my white shirt. My mind froze at the sight of her, and all thoughts of leaving vanished. We lost ourselves to the passion once again, and time stood still.

**Another week passed.**

One afternoon, there was a knock at the door. A man, dressed in a sharp suit, entered the house, his eyes never meeting mine. He walked straight to my wife. Without a word, he grabbed her hand. My heart raced with anger.

*"Who are you?!"* I shouted.

But before I could react, the man pulled her out of the house. I ran after them, my blood boiling, but just as I reached the door, an invisible force slammed into me. I was thrown backward into the house with such force that I collapsed onto the floor.

When I looked up, the door was closed. The house was eerily silent.

**I was alone.**

I rushed outside, only to find the streets empty. No sign of her, no sign of the man. Desperation took over as I ran through the streets, calling her name, but it was like she had disappeared into thin air.

**Days turned into weeks**, and I searched everywhere for her, but she was gone. People in the neighborhood started whispering. Some said she never existed, that she was a figment of my imagination. Others told strange tales, stories of a bride who had run away on her wedding night, only to vanish forever.

But I knew what I had seen. What I had felt. She was real, and I would find her.

Because love stories like ours... they never truly end.

And if she was out there, somewhere in the night, I would bring her back.
