"As you can see, Mr. Xavier, these are indeed Devil Fruits," said Rosh, nodding slightly. "I'm sure Dr. Cho must have told you about them. Each of these fruits can grant its user a unique superpower."
"Yes, she did introduce me to these miraculous fruits. It's astonishing that something so extraordinary exists in the world," Professor X replied, marveling at the display. "Could you walk me through some of these Devil Fruits?"
"Of course, Mr. Xavier. Here's our fruit catalog," Rosh said, handing over a detailed booklet. "Please look; once you've found a fruit that interests you, I can explain it in more detail."
"Thank you, sir."
Professor X graciously took the catalog and started browsing with focused curiosity. As he flipped through the pages, his eyes widened with each new fruit he encountered, his face alight with wonder.
"Amazing, absolutely incredible," he murmured repeatedly, clearly taken aback by the diversity and powers the Devil Fruits could offer.
Rosh stood by, quietly observing the scene. Seeing people's awestruck reactions to the fruits never ceased to amuse him. Watching someone like Professor X, who was generally composed and logical, react this way made the experience even more entertaining.
"Inspiration Fruit? This looks intriguing," Professor X commented after a few minutes, his eyes resting on one particular fruit.
"You're referring to the Inspire-Inspire Fruit, correct?" Rosh said, quickly recognizing the fruit from the description. "As the name suggests, this fruit has the power to inspire and uplift people's spirits. It's also known as the Pump-Pump Fruit."
"Are you interested in this one, Mr. Xavier?" Rosh asked with curiosity.
"As a teacher, my daily work revolves around lecturing and guiding my students. I'm wondering if this fruit would enhance my teaching methods and make my lessons more engaging," Professor X replied, his voice filled with anticipation.
"Absolutely," Rosh confirmed. "While it's called the Inspire-Inspire Fruit, its abilities go far beyond just boosting morale. It can manipulate emotions, heightening positive feelings such as courage, enthusiasm, or even determination. But it can also evoke negative emotions, depending on how the user wields it."
"So if you eat the Inspire-Inspire Fruit, you'll be able to adjust people's emotions as though they were switches under your control."
"This fruit sounds perfect," Professor X said, smiling broadly. "It seems my classes are about to get a whole lot more interesting. Alright then, Rosh, I'll take the Inspire-Inspire Fruit."
Charles Xavier's telepathic abilities allowed him to read minds and control thoughts; however, his abilities were somewhat blunt—once he controlled someone, they became puppets on his strings.
In other words, Charles Xavier could control someone but not influence them.
This left him in a dilemma: he either took complete control of someone's mind or left them entirely alone. There was no middle ground, no room for subtle influence.
But the power of the Inspire-Inspire Fruit would let him influence people's emotions in subtler, more nuanced ways. It bridged the gap between complete mind control and gentle persuasion, an area Charles had never fully mastered.
Moreover, since Charles could already sense others' feelings, the fruit's abilities would be incredibly easy for him to adapt to, making the combination of the Inspiration Fruit a natural complement to his psychic powers, each enhancing the other.
"Mr. Xavier, this fruit is well-suited to your profession. As for the price, it's two million dollars," Rosh stated.
"Let's proceed with the payment, I'll pay by card," Professor X replied without hesitation.
*Beep!*
In a matter of moments, the transaction was completed. Rosh handed over the Inspire-Inspire Fruit, and Professor X didn't hesitate to take a bite right there in the shop.
"Such an unusual sensation… So this is what it feels like to eat a Devil Fruit," Professor X remarked as he experienced the changes occurring in his body. His expression reflected both curiosity and amazement, almost as if he were witnessing a scientific miracle firsthand.
After the deal was done, Rosh, following his usual practice, added Professor Xavier to their exclusive group chat.
Shopkeeper: "@everyone, please welcome our newest member of the Devil Fruit Family! Let's all give him a warm welcome."
Charles Xavier: "Hello, everyone. I'm Charles Xavier, a scholar specializing in genetic mutation. It's a pleasure to meet you all."
Vanessa: "Wade, whatever you're about to say, just stop and think before you do!"
Vanessa: "Wow, another intellectual in the group? And a genetic mutation specialist at that. That sounds impressive."
Helen Cho: "Professor Xavier! I had a feeling it might be you. Welcome to our little family!"
Helen Cho: "By the way, everyone, Professor Xavier is being modest. He's an absolute legend in his field. He became a professor at Oxford in his twenties!"
The chat erupted in awe.
Wade Wilson: "Holy crap! Professor at Oxford in his twenties? That's insane! When I was in my twenties, I was busy… uh, never mind. Let's keep it clean! I stopped myself, Rosh, so please don't mute me again!"
Vanessa: "It's amazing to see such dedication to academia, Professor. Truly inspiring."
Charles Xavier: "You're all too kind. I've just been fortunate to receive some recognition in my field."
Wade Wilson: "Wow, Charles, you're really something! Alright, now that I'm done being amazed, let's get down to business. New members must spill the beans—what fruit did you buy?"
Charles Xavier: "Mr. Wilson, I purchased the Inspire-Inspire Fruit. It should help make my lectures more engaging."
Vanessa: "The fact that you bought such a powerful fruit just to improve your teaching is admirable."
The rest of the group also expressed their admiration, finding it both amusing and impressive that Professor Xavier intended to use such a potent ability to enhance his classroom atmosphere.
After briefly introducing himself to the group, Professor Xavier stepped out of the chat and turned back to Rosh.
"Well, I won't take up any more of your time. I'll be sure to visit again soon. And if you ever find yourself near Jean Grey's School for Gifted Youngsters, you're always welcome to stop by," Professor X said, extending an invitation as he took his leave.
