Siobhan quickly wrapped her arms around Su Sheng, deliberately pressing herself against him as if she was steadying herself. After a moment, she pulled away, flashing an apologetic smile. "I'm so sorry! Thank you for catching me—I'd have been so embarrassed if I fell!"
Su Sheng smiled but remained silent.
Just then, Siobhan noticed Kara approaching and waved cheerfully. "See you tomorrow, Kara!"
Kara managed a polite smile, but as soon as Siobhan was out of earshot, she turned to Su Sheng with a hint of displeasure. "What's going on? How do you know her?"
"We just met," Su Sheng answered casually.
"This woman... she rubs me the wrong way. On her first day, she's already trying to take over my work and constantly showing off," Kara grumbled. "And just now... was that fun for you?"
"What was fun?"
"Her rubbing all over you, thinking I didn't see it. She's bigger than me—did it feel nice?" Kara huffed.
"So, you're jealous?" Su Sheng teased.
"I'm not!" Kara pouted. "Alex called me earlier; something's come up at the DEO, and I have to go."
"Okay."
Su Sheng nodded, figuring it was about Lucy Lane taking over the DEO. But Kara was definitely jealous, wasn't she?
He watched as she ducked into a nearby alley and took off into the sky as Supergirl. With a shrug, Su Sheng turned and began walking down the street, contemplating his next move. Should he push Superman further towards conflict with the government? Kryptonite was Superman's greatest weakness, and the government had plenty of it. Just a hint of it could be enough to provoke a serious confrontation.
"Hey!"
Su Sheng had only walked a few steps when someone called out to him from the doorway of a nearby restaurant.
"Running into each other again so soon, huh, Kara's boyfriend?" Siobhan caught up to him, her tone both surprised and amused.
"She had something to take care of," Su Sheng replied with a smile.
"Then... how about joining me for dinner? Consider it a thank you for saving me from embarrassment earlier?" Siobhan invited, gesturing to the restaurant beside them.
"Sure!" Su Sheng smiled brightly.
The two turned back and entered the restaurant. Siobhan waved over a waiter, allowing Su Sheng to order and requesting a bottle of red wine.
"Mind if I take some pictures?" Siobhan asked, pulling out her phone.
Su Sheng shrugged, indifferent. Siobhan snapped a few pictures of the dishes and took several selfies, subtly angling the camera to include Su Sheng in a few shots.
"Thank you for earlier!" Siobhan raised her glass to Su Sheng.
"It was nothing," Su Sheng chuckled as they clinked glasses and drank.
Siobhan was a natural conversationalist, skilled at making people feel comfortable and subtly guiding the discussion. Throughout the meal, she deftly steered the conversation towards Kara, dropping hints and making insinuations that could easily drive a wedge between Su Sheng and Kara—a textbook scheming fox.
"Excuse me, I need to use the restroom," Siobhan said apologetically, getting up from the table.
A sly smile played on Su Sheng's lips as he followed her. After Siobhan entered the bathroom, Su Sheng pushed open the door and locked it behind him.
"What... what are you doing?" Siobhan stammered, feigning surprise and panic.
Su Sheng smiled. "What do you think?"
"You're talking nonsense! You're Kara's boyfriend, and I'm just her colleague. I only wanted to thank you, nothing more..." Siobhan began, but Su Sheng cut her off, pulling her close.
"Really? There's only one chance. If you're not interested, I'll leave."
"You..."
"Maybe I was wrong," Su Sheng said, turning towards the door to leave.
Siobhan hesitated for a split second before grabbing his hand, pulling him back, and kissing him passionately. Her body pressed tightly against his, melding into him as the intensity between them skyrocketed.
Su Sheng didn't hold back, his hands roaming freely as the confined space of the bathroom grew hot with their fervor.
Bang bang bang!
The sudden knock on the door jolted them back to reality. Siobhan quickly adjusted her hair and clothes, stepping away from Su Sheng.
"We... we should go," she said breathlessly.
"It's no big deal," Su Sheng replied with a grin.
Siobhan smiled sweetly, then suddenly bent down, removed an item, and shoved it into Su Sheng's hand before unlocking the door and hurrying out.
"This feels familiar," Su Sheng mused, examining the item. It reminded him of the "gifts" the Flash, Barry Allen, often gave him. He hadn't expected to receive such a present today. With a chuckle, he tossed it into a nearby trash can and strolled out of the bathroom.
As he exited, he noticed that Siobhan had already paid the bill and was about to leave. Seeing him, she whispered, "I don't know what came over me just now. Maybe I'm just lonely, being new here. I hope you can forget what happened. And... that was a souvenir. I just moved in, so I need to head back and unpack."
Her demeanor shifted instantly—a masterclass in the push-pull tactic. Any man in this situation wouldn't forget it; instead, they'd be even more intrigued.
Without giving Su Sheng a chance to respond, Siobhan slipped past him and out of the restaurant.
Su Sheng didn't bother to chase after her, taking his time as he prepared to leave.
"Feeling disappointed, are we?"
Just as he was about to open the door, a woman's voice drifted from behind.
"So many people trying to get my attention today!" Su Sheng paused, turning around with a smile.
Standing behind him was a well-dressed young woman. Though not breathtakingly beautiful, she radiated a strong, confident aura.
"Lena," she introduced herself with a smile, extending her hand.
"Lena Luthor?" Su Sheng looked at her curiously, not taking her hand. "You were the one knocking on the bathroom door earlier. You ruined what could have been a very interesting experience!"
