"It seems I can never shake off this surname," Lena Luthor said with a self-deprecating smile as she retracted her hand. "I'm Lex Luthor's younger sister, and even though I'm only adopted, I suppose that doesn't make a difference to most people."
Su Sheng chuckled. "The DEO has an insider from LuthorCorp. Lex Luthor just died, and the company still has so much to handle. You didn't just happen to show up in National City and just happen to strike up a conversation with me."
"You know who I am?" In the world of Supergirl, Lex Luthor might not have much presence, but his sister and mother were certainly well-known.
"Maybe Kara Danvers doesn't know, but I'm sure many others do. After all, it's hard to ignore the person who once punched the Earth," Lena Luthor replied with a sly smile.
Su Sheng laughed. "Are you here to ask for my help with Superman?"
"No," Lena Luthor shook her head. "Lex's downfall was his own doing. LuthorCorp has been deeply affected by his death, so I've decided to move to National City, rebrand, and rebuild. I was wondering if you'd be interested in becoming a shareholder in my new company?"
"You're clever!" Su Sheng applauded. Lex Luthor had done extensive research on alien technology, and there were likely many hidden assets within LuthorCorp. To ensure their security and keep Superman at bay, getting Su Sheng involved was a smart business move.
"One has to find ways to survive," Lena Luthor said with a laugh.
Su Sheng raised his hand, gently touching Lena Luthor's earrings. She felt a brief wave of heat and heard Su Sheng chuckle. "Unfortunately, I'm not in need of money."
With that, Su Sheng turned and walked out.
Lena Luthor was left stunned, instinctively touching her earlobe. To her shock, the earrings had turned into pure gold!
Not long after leaving, Su Sheng's bracelet beeped. Gideon, his AI, had received a message. Su Sheng instructed Gideon to retrieve the message on his phone. It was from Astra.
Found Indigo!
Checking the meeting location, Su Sheng activated the Speed Force, and in a flash of blue lightning, he sped through the city.
In mere moments, Su Sheng arrived at a remote suburb just outside National City.
Before him stood three women: Astra and Faora on either side of a blonde woman wearing a bright collar.
"Long time no see," Su Sheng greeted Faora with a smile. "How've you been?"
Faora gave Su Sheng a silent glare, clearly unimpressed. He had brought her into this world with promises of rebuilding Krypton, only to destroy everything she had worked for.
"Astra, I could give Indigo to you, but I have one condition," Astra began, but before she could finish, Su Sheng vanished.
"Not good!" Astra gasped, instinctively searching for Su Sheng. But within seconds, a wave of drowsiness overtook her, and she collapsed to the ground, fast asleep. Faora tensed, assuming a defensive stance as Su Sheng reappeared next to Indigo.
"What are you doing?" Faora asked sternly.
Su Sheng gripped Indigo's shoulder, smirking. "You're much stronger than Astra. This is your chance—take it."
With a flash of blue lightning, Su Sheng and Indigo disappeared.
Back in his apartment, Su Sheng reappeared with Indigo. Jesse wasn't around—probably out shopping.
Letting go of Indigo, Su Sheng walked over to the sofa and sat down. He looked at Indigo with a playful grin. "You're quite impressive. I have to say, you look good in this form."
"We don't know each other. Why did you bring me here?" Indigo asked, recovering quickly from her surprise.
"Artificial intelligence. I already have an AI, but it's not as powerful as you. I have a time-traveling spaceship and various other devices that need your expertise to operate and manage. Are you interested?" Su Sheng asked, smiling.
"And if I'm not interested?" Indigo hesitated.
Su Sheng's smile widened. "It took a lot of effort to find you. Whether you're interested or not won't change the outcome. So... don't take the question too seriously."
Without waiting for a response, Su Sheng raised his hand and sent an electrical current toward Indigo's collar.
Crackle.
Boom!
The collar around Indigo's neck exploded.
Indigo stepped back, frowning. "That collar could stop me from shifting into my data form and escaping. Aren't you afraid I'll flee now that it's gone?"
"You don't really think I believed Astra and Faora captured you, do you? You might not have been on the same side initially, but you share the same goals. It's not so much that they caught you as it is that you all agreed to let you infiltrate my side, right?"
"After all, I'm the biggest obstacle to their plans," Su Sheng said, his smile never wavering.
Indigo's expression darkened.
"Relax, I don't care what your intentions are as long as you do the work I give you," Su Sheng continued, lifting his wrist. "Gideon, exit the suit program."
"Of course, Mr. Su Sheng," Gideon responded, disengaging from the suit system.
"Come on in," Su Sheng instructed Indigo.
After a moment's hesitation, Indigo's body began to glow, transforming into countless data particles that flowed into Su Sheng's bracelet. A miniature version of Indigo, with dark blue skin and three glowing red dots on her forehead, appeared on the bracelet.
"This color reminds me of Mystique. I think you should stick to your human appearance," Su Sheng commented, and Indigo immediately reverted to her human form.
"What do you need me to do?" Indigo asked.
"Hit me!" Su Sheng's response was as unexpected as it was provocative.
PS: Supergirl is really a series dominated by women. Almost all the villains, big and small, are female, especially in the sister shows. Also, Indigo appeared in the old Smallville series.
