All love at first sight is just an illusion.
Appearance is the key to being likable.
Su Sheng's looks might not be extraordinary, but he has striking features, a good physique, and a unique presence. Even those who dislike him can't deny that, beyond his personality, he's hard to hate. Especially when he takes the initiative to engage, it's easy for others to feel drawn to him.
Kara Danvers' affection for Su Sheng grew steadily throughout their meal. By the end, she felt as though she had known him for a long time, and the awkwardness of their first meeting had completely dissipated.
It was as if he truly understood her.
"Can I take you home?" Su Sheng asked Kara with a smile as they stood outside the restaurant.
Kara smiled and shook her head. "No, I'll head back on my own, but thank you for tonight."
"Exchange numbers?" Su Sheng suggested with a grin.
Kara nodded.
After they exchanged numbers, Kara Danvers walked away, and Su Sheng watched her until she was out of sight before turning to leave.
"Gideon, locate the nearest large supply of lead," Su Sheng requested through his wristband while driving.
A moment later, Gideon provided the answer.
An hour later.
Su Sheng returned to the apartment carrying a large amount of lead.
Jesse was surprised to see him. "Didn't you go on a date? How did you come back with so much lead?" As Harrison Wells' daughter, Jesse wasn't completely clueless.
Su Sheng removed his wristband and activated the steel battle suit. With a burst of speed force, blue lightning crackled around the suit as he began upgrading and reinforcing it with lead.
Lead can block Kryptonian X-ray vision. After the modifications, Su Sheng tested it. Indeed, standard X-ray vision couldn't penetrate the suit. He then intensified the X-ray effect, doubling and doubling again until, after five times, he could finally see through the suit's structure.
"Gideon, help me locate someone."
"Alex Danvers!"
While Gideon worked, Su Sheng sat beside Jesse, who shifted slightly, curious. "Did you make this battle suit?"
"Not bad, right?" Su Sheng chuckled. "You're good with speed, aren't you? When you have time, help me design a special suit for speed force."
"Huh?" Jesse responded, still a bit dazed, as Gideon located Alex Danvers.
The relationship between Alex and Kara was evident from their shared last name. She was Kara's adopted older sister, an expert in bioengineering, and an agent with ARGUS. She possessed excellent combat skills and extensive knowledge of alien life.
When Supergirl Kara arrived on Earth twelve years ago, a group of criminals imprisoned on Krypton also made their way here. ARGUS was established to study alien technology and deal with these extraterrestrial threats.
Shh!
Su Sheng donned the steel battle suit and flew out of the window in an instant.
Boom!
Sonic booms echoed in the night sky, and within minutes, Su Sheng reached the window of an apartment.
Inside, Alex had just arrived home and was on the phone—likely with Kara. A smirk crossed Su Sheng's lips as he activated his speed force, vibrating at a high frequency to phase through the wall and enter the apartment.
Boom!
The black-and-gold steel suit appeared, and Alex, having just ended her call, reacted quickly. She activated a distress signal on her phone while flipping and grabbing a hidden gun, aiming it at Su Sheng.
"Who are you?"
"Someone who can help," Su Sheng replied with a light chuckle.
"..."
Alex's expression tightened as she realized this wasn't some alien, but a man in a high-tech suit.
"Let's talk before your backup arrives," Su Sheng suggested with a smirk.
Bang!
Alex fired suddenly, but the bullet merely sparked against the suit and ricocheted off, leaving no mark.
"Sometimes, it's disheartening," Su Sheng began. "No matter how hard you work, the gap in natural talent can't be bridged. It's tough having a sister who's naturally powerful, isn't it? She never gets sick, doesn't even get acne. You envy her, don't you? So, you were actually relieved when she decided not to use her powers."
Su Sheng's words stunned Alex.
How did he know?
How did he know about Kara? How did he know she envied Kara?
"What do you want?" Alex asked in a serious tone.
"To help you," Su Sheng stated bluntly. "As an agent, you're forced to watch as Kara excels. It's hard, isn't it? Whether it's out of jealousy or concern, you don't want to be just Kara Danvers' sister. You want to be known as Alex Danvers."
"There are so many aliens hiding in Central City. When danger comes, do you really want to rely on your sister to save you?"
"I can help you."
"How… how can you help me?" Alex asked after a moment of silence.
"With a suit! I can help you make a powerful suit you can carry with you to handle any emergency. In return, I only need you to help me locate someone—a prisoner in Rozburg."
"Indigo of Brainiac's Think Tank."
Boom!
The door to Alex's apartment was suddenly kicked open, and a black man rushed in, followed by several agents. They raised their guns, spread out, and surrounded Su Sheng.
"Alex, are you alright?" the man asked.
Alex nodded.
"You're quick," Su Sheng remarked, glancing at the black man. "Should I call you Hank or J'onn?"
The man's expression darkened. "My name is Hank Henshaw, director of ARGUS. Whoever you are, you're coming with us."
"As long as you can keep me," Su Sheng chuckled, glancing at Alex before turning toward the window.
Bang bang bang!
A volley of gunfire erupted, but it didn't slow Su Sheng's steps. Hank Henshaw and the other agents rushed forward to stop him, but Su Sheng raised his hand and fired a palm cannon at the wall.
Boom!
The wall collapsed instantly, and Hank Henshaw and the others watched as the black-and-gold armor flew out and disappeared into the night sky with a series of sonic booms.
