Chapter 176 - Chapter 175: The Martian Manhunter’s Ability

As the steel suit vanished into the distance, Hank Henshaw turned to Alex, demanding details. What he didn't realize was that Su Sheng had copied his abilities when he raised his gun earlier.

Hank Henshaw wasn't just an alias—it was a complete false identity.

His real name is J'onn J'onzz, a Martian codenamed the Martian Manhunter. In the comics, Martian Manhunter is a founding member of the Justice League and one of its original seven, though he was later replaced by Cyborg.

The Martian Manhunter has a vast array of abilities, including enhanced physical attributes such as super strength, endurance, and flight. His shapeshifting ability allows him to assume different forms, including Hank Henshaw's identity. He can also turn invisible by altering his molecular structure, phase through objects to become immune to physical attacks, and regenerate quickly from injuries. He possesses super breath, Martian vision, and more. However, his most notable ability is telepathy, which is far more potent and comprehensive than Grodd's mind control.

But even with all his powers, the Martian Manhunter has one critical weakness: an intense fear of fire.

As Director Hank Henshaw questioned her, Alex recounted the events that had just transpired. She mentioned how Su Sheng knew about her relationship with Kara, Kara's true identity, and his intentions to use the steel suit to track down a prisoner in Rozburg—Indigo. Of course, Alex left out Su Sheng's comments about her feelings of envy or jealousy towards Kara.

"It's unclear whether he's human or some kind of alien, but he knows too much," Hank Henshaw frowned. "First, we need to locate this Indigo and determine her connection to him. And as for your sister…"

"I'll stay with her for the next few days," Alex replied.

"Alright," Hank Henshaw nodded.

This night was destined to be sleepless.

Whether it was Alex, Hank Henshaw, or Kara Danvers, they all tossed and turned, unable to sleep. And it was all because of one man—Su Sheng.

Hank Henshaw was almost too shaken to conceal his real identity.

As for Su Sheng, the instigator, he slept soundly with Jesse in his arms.

In the days that followed, Su Sheng and Jesse spent their days working on designing a suit suitable for harnessing the Speed Force, drawing inspiration from the blue and white suit of the future Flash. The primary goal was to enhance the suit's speed resistance. In the evenings, Su Sheng went on dates with Kara Danvers. They'd have dinner, stroll around, and while the relationship wasn't officially defined or progressing quickly, holding hands had become normal.

During this time, ARGUS worked tirelessly to uncover Su Sheng's identity and whereabouts, but it was as if he had vanished without a trace.

One alluring night.

Walking under the glow of streetlights, Su Sheng and Kara Danvers strolled side by side, holding hands.

"Want to sit over there?" Su Sheng asked, pointing to a bench on the street.

"Sure," Kara nodded and was about to walk over with Su Sheng when a sudden, piercing sound made her head feel like it was about to explode.

"What's wrong?" Su Sheng asked, concerned.

Kara shook her head. "It's nothing, just a sudden headache."

"I'm communicating at 50,000 hertz. If you can hear me, you're not from Earth. It hurts, doesn't it? If you don't come to me, the people of Central City will suffer ten times the pain. Come to the Central City power plant and meet me." Kara Danvers tilted her head, wincing at the sharp pain as she heard a man's voice.

"How many innocents must suffer before you dare to face me? Alura's daughter!"

The mention of her mother's name made Kara Danvers' eyes go cold.

This was her mother's enemy!

"I'm sorry, I just remembered something urgent. I have to go," Kara said to Su Sheng apologetically. Before he could respond, she turned and ran into the nearby park. A swoosh followed as a figure flew out from the woods.

The red cape billowed in the wind. She wore the same blue suit as Superman, with the iconic S-shield on her chest. Below, she sported a red skirt, black stockings, and red knee-high boots.

Supergirl was in action!

"That's a pretty weak excuse," Su Sheng muttered, rubbing his ears. The voice from earlier had been painfully loud.

This arrogant guy must be the first major enemy Supergirl will face, right? The criminal her mother, Alura, imprisoned in Rozburg. Speaking of which, these criminals from Rozburg have been more patient than Malcolm Merlyn in Starling City. Merlyn plotted against Starling City for five years; these guys have stayed hidden on Earth for twelve!

"I wonder if Faora has found the Kryptonian. The mastermind behind these Rozburg criminals is General Astra, Supergirl's aunt! Just like Zod, she wants to turn Earth into a second Krypton!" Su Sheng chuckled and activated the Speed Force. He quickly suited up and flew off, chasing after Supergirl.

Central City Power Plant!

Supergirl landed hard, cracking the ground beneath her. Scanning her surroundings, she frowned. "Smart move, choosing a place full of lead, but I can still hear your heartbeat."

As she moved forward, a figure suddenly dropped from above.

Supergirl turned just as a fist slammed into her cheek, sending her flying.

Boom!

She tumbled across the ground before coming to a stop, glaring at her attacker. The man was tall, burly, and bald, looking almost human, except for a slight bulge on his forehead.

He stared coldly at Supergirl. "On my planet, women kneel before men!"

Supergirl snorted and launched herself at him, fists forward. The alien bald man sneered disdainfully, grabbing her wrist and slamming her down hard.

Boom!

Supergirl gritted her teeth in pain as he lifted her and threw her into the power plant's building.

Crash!

With a loud collision, Supergirl slammed into the wall and slid to the ground. Meanwhile, the alien bald man pulled an axe from his back and hurled it directly at her.

"Hey, her blood is mine!" Su Sheng landed in front of Supergirl, catching the axe mid-air.

PS: This villain is the same one from the first episode of Supergirl's first season. His axe is special and can harm Supergirl.
