"And then? Did General Swanwick survive?"
Su Sheng wasn't surprised that Superman had attacked the military base. Given the current state of Superman, his adoptive mother, Martha, was the most important person in his life. Su Sheng was more curious about whether the enraged Superman had killed General Swanwick.
Lois Lane shook her head. "No, The Flash and Batman were there at the time, and they had kryptonite weapons. Superman just rescued Martha and left. But the military is furious. Especially since you delivered the pilot's body, they believe Superman was responsible for his death, so…"
"So they might retaliate against Superman."
"It's not enough to kill him," Su Sheng scoffed, dismissing the matter. The military's behavior would eventually push Superman to the brink, and Su Sheng was content to watch from the sidelines. "By the way, was Lex Luthor captured? And is the Genesis Chamber in the hands of the military?"
"It seems so."
Lois nodded as Su Sheng released a shockwave and teleported to the military base.
The base was heavily guarded.
As Su Sheng arrived, he saw that heavily armed soldiers surrounded the Genesis Chamber. Several scientists were trying to figure out how to access it.
"Don't waste your time—you can't even open the door," Su Sheng said with a chuckle as he approached.
"Stop! Don't come any closer!"
"Or we'll shoot."
These soldiers must have been newly assigned since they didn't recognize Su Sheng. Ignoring their threats, Su Sheng continued walking forward.
Da-da-da! Da-da-da!
Bullets flew at him.
Su Sheng didn't bother dodging, letting the bullets bounce off him. Being the Man of Steel, bullets were nothing more than an annoyance. He casually pushed a few scientists aside and shrank the Genesis Chamber. As the soldiers glared at him, unable to do anything, Su Sheng slowly ascended into the air, preparing to leave.
Whoosh!
Just as he took off, a missile streaked toward him from behind. Su Sheng stopped, turned around, and watched as the missile roared closer.
With a cold expression, Su Sheng swung his fist.
Boom!
The missile exploded instantly, flames bursting everywhere.
Amidst the explosion, red heat rays shot out, striking the military base.
A deafening explosion followed, triggering a chain reaction that turned the entire base into a sea of fire.
Back at the apartment, Lois Lane hurriedly tried to call Carol Ferris, intending to warn her about Su Sheng's visit. But before she could dial, she heard a gust of wind rush past the window. Turning around, Lois felt a powerful force grab her.
"Where is he?!"
Lois Lane coughed, panicked, recognizing the voice. It was Faora, the Kryptonian female adjutant who should have been killed by Su Sheng but had been revived and escaped. "Let go of me! He… he won't let you get away with this!"
"Where is he?!" Faora demanded, her expression dark.
Lois pointed behind Faora, who turned slightly—only to be met with a massive fist.
Boom!
Faora was sent flying, crashing through the wall as Lois fell into Su Sheng's arms.
"Are you okay?" Su Sheng asked gently, setting Lois down.
"I'm fine…" Lois replied, shaken. She wanted to warn him to be careful, but considering Su Sheng's immense power, the words felt unnecessary.
Su Sheng chuckled, narrowing his eyes as Faora flew back.
"Kneel down," Su Sheng ordered softly.
"Hmph," Faora snorted, throwing a punch at him.
Su Sheng chuckled again. "How many times will it take? You know you can't beat me, yet you still try. I don't even want to fight you. So kneel down, and I'll give you a chance to rebuild Krypton."
Boom!
Faora's punch stopped in mid-air.
"Are you willing to give me the Genesis Chamber and the Central Collection?" Faora asked, suspicion in her voice.
"No."
"Are you mocking me?" Faora's anger flared as she prepared to strike again, but Su Sheng's voice cut through her rage.
"I said I would give you a chance to rebuild Krypton. Whether you succeed is up to you. Do you want this opportunity or not?"
Faora hesitated.
"If you do, kneel down," Su Sheng said with a smile.
"I have nothing left. If you're playing games with me, even in death, I won't forgive you!" Faora glared at Su Sheng, but slowly knelt on one knee. Avenging the rest of Krypton? Avenging General Zod? Of course, she wanted to. But more than that, she wanted to rebuild Krypton!
Snap!
Faora knelt down...
"You're luckier than the other Kryptonians, so I'm giving you this chance. I don't need your loyalty or anything. I just need you to work hard to rebuild Krypton. Can you do that?" Su Sheng asked, narrowing his eyes.
Confused.
As an adjutant, Faora was not only strong but also intelligent, yet she couldn't fathom Su Sheng's intentions. On one hand, he had slaughtered nearly all the Kryptonians, and on the other, he was offering her a chance to rebuild Krypton? "What are you really after?"
"Do I need to explain myself to you?" Su Sheng smirked, a new idea forming in his mind.
Boom!
A shockwave rippled through the air, and a miniature wormhole appeared.
"Follow me," Su Sheng ordered, stepping through the wormhole. Faora hesitated but eventually followed.
Moments later, the two of them appeared in a villa in Central City.
Su Sheng released the Disciple to produce a batch of speed serum, then retracted it and handed the serum to Laura. "This batch needs to be sent back to Ballistics."
"Are you going out?" Laura asked, taking the serum.
Su Sheng smiled. "I'll be away for a while. You stay here and keep an eye on things. I'll download Gideon's program into your suit. If anything comes up, you can contact me."
"If you're leaving, what am I supposed to do?" Thea asked, concerned.
"Figure it out yourself," Su Sheng replied nonchalantly, then turned and placed his hand on Faora's shoulder. Faora was irritated by the gesture but didn't resist.
Swish!
The Speed Force activated, and yellow lightning crackled as they sped off.
Faster and faster.
In the blink of an eye, a wormhole appeared before them, and with Earth-2 in mind, Su Sheng leaped forward.
In an instant, Su Sheng and Faora found themselves on Earth-2.
"What… where are we?" Faora asked, startled by the sudden change.
"Welcome to Earth-2!" Su Sheng said, turning around with his arms wide open, a grin on his face.
