Chapter 169 - Chapter 168: Men and Women Under the Night Sky

The battle between Su Sheng and Diana lasted only ten minutes.

Despite the boost from the BGM and her mastery of the God of War's power, Diana was still no match for Su Sheng.

When her fighting spirit was at its peak, and she asked Su Sheng to fight seriously, the battle ended in an instant.

"I'll defeat you sooner or later," Diana declared, a tinge of frustration in her voice. Despite years of effort to catch up, the gap in their strength seemed to widen rather than narrow. But Diana was not one to give up easily. The past grievances had faded, leaving her with a singular focus—defeating Su Sheng.

The reason why didn't matter.

"Let's go," Su Sheng said with a chuckle, wrapping an arm around Diana's waist and flying back to the Disciple.

The next moment, the Disciple cut through the night sky and vanished.

Somewhere in a remote location, the Disciple descended.

The surroundings were pitch black, with only the sounds of chirping birds and insects breaking the silence.

Su Sheng placed a shockwave on Hal Jordan's body, sending it to the military base. He had initially planned to deliver it to Carol Ferris, but now, he neither had the time nor the inclination. After sending off Hal Jordan's body, Su Sheng grabbed his camera and disembarked from the Disciple with Diana.

They found themselves in an open meadow.

"What are we doing?" Diana asked, puzzled.

"Watching a movie!" Su Sheng smiled as he stepped forward, his palm outstretched. In an instant, the air grew cold, and a flat wall of ice formed before them.

Diana looked at Su Sheng curiously as he removed a bracelet, tossing it into the air. The bracelet transformed into a steel battlesuit before landing. Su Sheng connected the camera to the battlesuit, allowing Gideon to project the footage onto the ice wall.

Su Sheng then pulled Diana down to sit on the grass beside him.

Under the dim starry sky, the two sat side by side, watching the footage Su Sheng had captured of Diana's debut battle. The stunning visuals and the stirring BGM drew Diana in, despite the initial embarrassment. The scenes showed Diana as valiant and fearless, with the battle more intricate and impactful than many blockbuster movies.

As Su Sheng draped his arm around her shoulders, Diana gradually leaned her head against him.

The atmosphere was imbued with an indescribable romance.

"So this is what it feels like to watch yourself fight," Diana chuckled, turning to look at Su Sheng.

At that moment, Su Sheng also looked down at her.

Their gazes locked, and it was as if an invisible current passed between them, their hearts racing, blood pounding, and a faint sensation of electricity tingling through their veins.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Despite the BGM resonating through the night sky, they could both hear their own rapid heartbeats, like a drum growing more intense by the second. Suddenly, Diana reached up, hooked her arm around Su Sheng's neck, and pulled him down. Su Sheng responded passionately, their kiss igniting a fire under the dark night sky, causing the temperature to rise.

Under the night sky, on the grass, accompanied by the BGM, another battle began.

This one was filled with heart and soul, as if they were making up for all the emotions left unsatisfied in their previous encounter.

After a long while...

A gentle breeze rustled the grass, the ice wall melted, sending a coolness through the air, and the soft chirping of unknown insects filled the night. The man and woman, nestled together under the moonlight, formed a beautiful picture.

Who knows how much time passed before the sun began to rise on the horizon, its golden light shining down on the earth.

Diana and Su Sheng woke up, smiling at each other.

Su Sheng grinned and asked, "Continue?"

Diana shook her head slightly. "I have work today."

"Antique merchant?" Su Sheng asked with a smile.

Diana was surprised. "How did you know that? Wait, you didn't see the future me, did you? That's not fair!"

"I've been in this era since I left. When it comes to you, everything on Themyscira has been resolved. Have you found Donna Troy yet?" Su Sheng smiled and shook his head, watching Diana put on her armor. Her tousled hair caught the sunlight, and Su Sheng couldn't resist pulling her close for another kiss.

"I haven't brushed my teeth yet," Diana laughed, gently pulling away. "I became an antique dealer to find Donna, but I haven't been able to locate her yet."

"Why were you in Metropolis yesterday?" Su Sheng asked as he dressed.

"I was searching for someone. A woman named Barbara Minerva, who used to work at the museum, was attacked and I saved her. That's how we met. But when the ARGUS Collection was attacked some time ago, something very dangerous was stolen, and she was involved."

"What was stolen?"

"The God-Killer Blade, possessed by the goddess of the Sain Tribe. Barbara used the blade to stab herself, transforming into the Cheetah. She gained the strength, endurance, and speed of a cheetah, nearly as fast as The Flash. Her claws and fangs are incredibly sharp, capable of piercing Kryptonian skin. Those bitten by her turn into half-human, half-cheetah beings, losing all sense of self and driven only to kill."

"She's dangerous, and I need to find her as soon as possible," Diana explained solemnly as she adjusted her armor.

"Cheetah," Su Sheng mused, recognizing the name. Cheetah was one of Wonder Woman's classic villains. She had once injured The Flash while he was running at high speed, and her claws and fangs could pierce even Superman's skin, turning him into a half-human, half-cheetah killing machine.

"Do you need my help?" Su Sheng asked, tugging gently at Diana's hair.

"No, just take me back to Metropolis," Diana replied.

They packed up their belongings and returned to the Disciple to head back to Metropolis. On the way, Diana asked about Superman, Batman, and The Flash, especially regarding the Doomsday incident. She couldn't help but reprimand Su Sheng several times, but he was in such a good mood that he just nodded and agreed without protest.

"Just drop me off here," Diana said as they flew over Metropolis.

The hatch opened, and Diana leaped out, descending rapidly.

Watching her disappear from sight, Su Sheng resized the Disciple and flew toward Lois Lane's apartment. When he arrived, he found Lois on the phone, looking tired, as if she hadn't slept all night. As soon as she saw Su Sheng, she quickly ended the call.

"You're finally back. Superman attacked the military base last night!"
