Boom!
A thunderous explosion erupted in the distance, lighting up the dim sky like a flash of daylight. The searing heat from the blast painted the clouds in fiery hues, forcing Lois Lane to instinctively rush into Su Sheng's arms, seeking protection.
"Did they just use a nuclear weapon?" Lois Lane gasped, turning to look at the distant explosion in shock.
"Superman pushed Doomsday into space, allowing the military's nuclear missile to hit Doomsday. But..." Su Sheng squinted, his gaze piercing through the air. Amidst the fiery aftermath, Doomsday plummeted back to Earth, now enveloped in a lightning-like thermal energy. Not only had Doomsday survived, but it had also evolved to withstand nuclear weapons.
Not only that, but its heat vision had also evolved, becoming even more deadly.
As for Superman...
Su Sheng focused his enhanced vision, his eyes piercing through the clouds and atmosphere to spot Superman floating in space. His body appeared shriveled and withered, a skeletal figure hanging in the void. Though he wasn't dead, it would take some time for him to recover. So, would Batman and Wonder Woman show up? Su Sheng released Lois Lane with a grin. "Take care of yourself."
"Huh?" Lois Lane replied absently, watching as Su Sheng leaped out the window. A moment later, a loud boom signaled his rapid departure.
Meanwhile, Doomsday continued to grow in size, absorbing electricity and energy from the surroundings with terrifying intensity.
Da-da-da, da-da-da.
Gunfire echoed from a distance as a sleek black fighter jet zipped past Doomsday.
The Batwing!
Batman had arrived.
Roar! The bullets did little to harm Doomsday, but they did succeed in enraging the beast. With a furious roar, Doomsday unleashed a blast of heat vision at the Batwing.
Boom!
The crimson beam struck the side of the Batwing, causing it to explode in mid-air. Bruce Wayne, clad in his Bat-suit, ejected from the cockpit, preparing to escape. But Doomsday, now just a few strides away, was already charging up another blast of heat vision.
There was no time to escape.
Instinctively, Batman raised his arms in a futile attempt to shield himself.
At that moment, a burst of passionate music filled the air.
The high-pitched, uplifting melody seemed to flood the entire battlefield, infusing everyone with a sense of adrenaline.
Doomsday's eyes glowed red as it fired its heat vision directly at Batman.
Boom!
A figure crashed to the ground with the force of the music, arms crossed to block the searing heat vision.
Sizzle.
Boom!
The heat vision dissipated, and Batman slowly lowered his arms to see a tall woman in armor standing before him. The rousing music and her sudden appearance left Batman momentarily speechless, but Diana, Wonder Woman, was fully focused on Doomsday. Her chest heaved slightly as she suddenly lunged forward, her arms smashing into the ground with incredible force.
Boom!
A wave of divine power surged outward, the blinding light sending Doomsday reeling back. The impact left a deep trench in the ground as Doomsday struggled to regain its footing.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The sound of a sonic boom echoed through the night as a figure streaked through the sky. Superman, his red cape billowing in the wind, flew in from the side and delivered a powerful blow, sending Doomsday crashing into a nearby power plant.
The explosions rippled through the air, flames roaring as the plant was reduced to rubble.
Batman emerged from the wreckage of the Batwing as Superman landed with a heavy thud.
For the first time, the three pillars of the Justice League stood together, the epic music making the moment even more thrilling.
"Can you turn off that music?" Batman asked Wonder Woman as they exchanged glances.
"What kind of habit is it to have your own BGM?"
"It's not me." Diana frowned.
"It's him," Superman said, looking up into the distant sky.
Batman and Wonder Woman followed his gaze to see a spaceship hovering in the darkened sky. The music was blaring from the ship, where a figure sat casually at the front.
"Su Sheng!"
"Su Sheng!"
Batman and Wonder Woman spoke in unison.
"You know him?"
Their voices overlapped as they glanced at each other, surprised.
"It seems we all know him," Superman said grimly. "This monster was created by him, using technology from my world."
Diana stared at Su Sheng sitting on the Disciple with a complicated expression. After a moment of hesitation, she jumped into the air, heading straight for the ship.
"What's she going to do?" Superman asked, concerned.
Batman shook his head.
Thud!
Diana landed on the Disciple, her eyes burning as she stared at Su Sheng.
"The gift I prepared for you—do you like it?" Su Sheng smiled, reaching out to wrap an arm around Diana's waist.
Diana didn't speak or pull away, her gaze still fixed on him.
"Why so quiet? We haven't seen each other in a while, right?" Su Sheng continued, but before he could finish, Diana suddenly lunged forward, pressing her lips to his.
Uh!
Su Sheng was momentarily stunned but quickly responded with equal intensity.
"Uh... It seems my worries were unfounded," Superman muttered awkwardly from the ground, his earlier concern evaporating.
"What?" Batman asked.
"They're..." Superman began, struggling to find the words to explain their relationship, but Batman had already figured it out.
This made him frown.
The kiss ended abruptly as Diana pulled back, breathing heavily. Before Su Sheng could react, she grabbed his wrist and flung him downwards with tremendous force.
Boom!
Su Sheng crashed into the ground, and Diana landed beside him, her Vulcan sword pointed directly at him.
"I told you, I'd find you... and challenge you!"
This sudden change left Superman and Batman stunned once again. Batman glanced at Superman—didn't you say they were close? Superman was equally confused. They had just been so intense, and now they were fighting?
Roar!
A deafening roar echoed as Doomsday, now much larger and covered in bone spurs, emerged from the ruins of the power plant.
Superman shot a determined look at Doomsday and charged forward.
Batman wanted to help but had no clear plan. As Doomsday's heat vision targeted him again, he quickly dove under the rubble to avoid the scorching blast.
"Go, deal with Doomsday first," Su Sheng said from where he lay on the ground, looking up at Diana. "Once that's done, you'll be worthy to challenge me. And I'd like to see how much you've improved!"
"Hmph!"
Diana snorted before leaping high into the air, heading back to the battlefield.
