Chapter 163 - Chapter 162: Doomsday Arrives

No Genesis Chambers, no Kryptonian corpses, not even kryptonite.

Even with Lex Luthor's brilliance, creating Doomsday without the necessary resources would have been nearly impossible. Without Doomsday, the fun would have been significantly diminished. Lex Luthor, however, was not only bold but also excited about this crazy endeavor. Most would have balked at such a reckless experiment, but he was eager to proceed.

Since Lex Luthor was willing to use his own genes to create Doomsday, Su Sheng instructed him to find a secure location and have the Genesis Chamber delivered there. As for the Kryptonian corpse, Lex Luthor would take care of that as well. Although Lex was still involved in research on the Kryptonian spacecraft, his schedule was relatively free at the moment. After Su Sheng and Black Siren left, Lex couldn't wait to dive into discussions with his secretary.

Meanwhile, Metropolis was undergoing reconstruction, and Superman could occasionally be seen flying overhead.

Superman noticed Su Sheng but didn't approach him. For Superman, any encounter with Su Sheng spelled trouble—and the future looked even bleaker.

"What's the situation in Metropolis on Earth-Two?" Su Sheng asked Black Siren as they walked.

"I haven't been there, but I've heard it's not exactly peaceful," Black Siren replied, then asked curiously, "Is this Doomsday really that powerful? There are Kryptonians here and over there too. If the Boss creates countless Doomsdays by eliminating them, who could possibly stand against you?"

"No one was ever my equal," Su Sheng replied with a smirk.

"I misspoke," Black Siren quickly apologized.

The two of them continued walking until they arrived at the Daily Planet. Despite the disaster that had struck Metropolis, the Daily Planet had been fortunate and was still operational, though it was noticeably less bustling.

"Mr. Su Sheng."

As they entered, a black man approached them.

"Hello, I'm Perry White, editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet," he introduced himself, extending his hand. "Bruce Wayne informed me of your visit. Welcome to the newspaper."

Bruce Wayne was quick to act.

"There's no need for an inspection. I'm not interested in the newspaper's operations. Where's Lois Lane?" Su Sheng asked casually.

Perry White was taken aback. "Lois is at home. She's been dealing with some personal matters after the disaster in Metropolis."

"Alright."

Su Sheng nodded and said, "Relay a message for me."

"What would you like to say?"

"Fiora, the Genesis Chamber is in my hands," Su Sheng stated.

Perry White hesitated, then asked, "Just that? No address or additional details?"

"No need. Lois will know where to find me."

With that, Su Sheng turned and left.

There wasn't much else to do in Metropolis. After leaving the Daily Planet, Su Sheng returned to Central City with Black Siren. With time on his hands, he began applying nanoscale technology to upgrade the Genesis Chamber. That evening, just as he finished the upgrades, he received a call from Lex Luthor.

The location was set.

Su Sheng minimized the Genesis Chamber and opened a teleportation wormhole.

He arrived at a heavily guarded but otherwise empty facility.

Lex Luthor and his secretary were already there.

Once Su Sheng appeared, he expanded the Genesis Chamber to its full size and led Lex Luthor and his secretary inside.

Lex looked around curiously, while his secretary arranged for the Kryptonian corpse to be brought in.

"Let's begin," Su Sheng said, pointing to the console.

Lex Luthor took a deep breath and placed his hand on the console. He felt a slight prick as his genetic sample was extracted. Su Sheng casually tossed the Kryptonian corpse into a large gestation tank to prepare for gene fusion.

"Mr. Su Sheng, according to the laws of Kandor City, this procedure is prohibited…"

"Kandor City is gone. So… let's begin," Su Sheng interrupted the program's reminder.

"Understood."

As the mechanical voice faded, the Kryptonian corpse in the gestation tank began to change.

The skin tore as the body grew larger, transforming into something monstrous. The dark gray skin looked hideous and malevolent, and its eyes bulged as if ready to burst.

"This is Doomsday?" Lex Luthor stared at the creature with intense interest.

"This is just the initial version. Once it evolves and gains more powerful abilities, it will become the true Doomsday," Su Sheng said as he lightly opened the gestation tank, allowing Doomsday to step out.

Doomsday appeared to be in a trance.

As it emerged, it cast a menacing gaze at Su Sheng and the others. Lex's secretary instinctively shielded him, though Lex himself, despite his fear, boldly scrutinized the creature. "It seems delirious. Could it be because it was bred from a dead body?"

"Roar!"

Doomsday roared and lunged toward them.

"Hey, little one, don't wreck my Genesis Chamber," Su Sheng warned. Activating the Speed Force, he dragged Doomsday out of the chamber and flung it into the night sky.

Whoosh!

Doomsday's massive body vanished into the distance.

Lex Luthor and his secretary cautiously stepped out of the chamber, watching as Doomsday disappeared into the night. Lex couldn't help but ask, "Where did it go?"

"I tossed it. Looks like it's heading toward Metropolis," Su Sheng said casually.

"Do you have something against Metropolis?" Lex asked, amused.

Su Sheng shrugged and flew off.

Metropolis

Doomsday's arrival plunged the city into chaos. It roared and rampaged, demolishing buildings in its path. Blue electric currents surged into it from all directions, which it absorbed hungrily.

"My God, what is that?"

"A monster!"

"Run! Everyone, run!"

Panic ensued as soldiers and police, who had been guarding the Kryptonian spacecraft, frantically reported to their superiors. It wasn't long before General Swanwick and his team received the news and rushed to the command room to assess the situation.

"General, the President is on the line."

A subordinate handed General Swanwick the phone.

"Can you explain what's happening in Metropolis? Is this another alien threat?" the President's voice demanded.

General Swanwick didn't have a clear answer, but a troubling thought crossed his mind.

This monster had something to do with Su Sheng.
