Chapter 162 - Chapter 161: Create the Day of Destruction

Snow and ice stretched as far as the eye could see, with the cold wind howling through the barren landscape.

Everything around was a desolate white, devoid of any other color.

Amid the blizzard, a castle-like Kryptonian reconnaissance ship sat anchored on the icy surface.

With a powerful crash, Su Sheng descended from the sky, sending the surrounding snow flying in all directions.

He surveyed the thick steel walls, his body vibrating rapidly before phasing directly through them.

"You shouldn't be here."

The voice drew Su Sheng's attention. Turning, he saw a middle-aged man in Kryptonian attire standing in a section of the corridor.

"Jor-El! Superman's father, right?" Su Sheng chuckled as he glanced around. "Where's the Genesis Chamber?"

Jor-El, now merely a program with the original memories and thoughts of the Kryptonian scientist, appeared as a virtual projection. The only capability he retained was control over the Fortress of Solitude, where his program was downloaded.

"I can't tell you, and you shouldn't be here," Jor-El responded, shaking his head.

Su Sheng smiled. "Why not? Should I bring Zod's body here and overwrite your program with his genetic authority? If you cooperate, I only need the Genesis Chamber. If not, I'll destroy the ship—and your son along with it."

Jor-El remained silent for a moment before slowly turning around.

Su Sheng smirked and followed him.

After winding through the corridors, they soon arrived at a door.

With a slight wave of his hand, Jor-El opened the door.

Inside was a massive piece of genetic breeding equipment. Numerous branches extended from the central machinery, with empty gestation pods hanging from them.

"Detach it. I'm taking it with me," Su Sheng instructed Jor-El.

After a brief hesitation, Jor-El activated the equipment. With a rumbling sound, the door to the Genesis Chamber closed, and the entire structure slowly lifted into the air. In a blink, it transformed into a mobile ship, emerging outside the Fortress of Solitude.

"Goodbye, and make sure to say hello to Superman for me."

With a wave, Su Sheng leaped into the mobile ship and flew off.

Returning to the villa in Central City, Su Sheng landed the ship and headed to the Discipleship to retrieve Zod's fingerprints using a kryptonite dagger. He then returned to the Genesis Chamber.

He pressed Zod's fingerprint onto the console of the Genesis Chamber, and a floating robot drifted toward him.

"Greetings, General Zod of Kandor," a mechanical voice announced.

"Modify the authority of the Genesis Chamber and add Su Sheng to the authorized list," Su Sheng commanded, placing his finger on the console to input his fingerprints and genetic data.

"Greetings, Mr. Su Sheng."

"Now, set Su Sheng as the highest authority."

"Setup complete!"

Su Sheng nodded in satisfaction and stepped out of the Genesis Chamber.

As soon as he emerged, he saw Laura, Thea, and Black Siren standing nearby.

"Go fetch a Kryptonian corpse," Su Sheng instructed casually.

Laura was about to comply when Black Siren seemed to remember something and stepped forward first. After a short while, she returned with a Kryptonian body.

Su Sheng waved his hand, releasing shockwaves into the open space, creating a teleportation wormhole.

"Come with me," Su Sheng said, and Black Siren followed him through the portal with the corpse.

LexCorp

In the CEO's office, the bald-headed Lex Luthor sat at his computer, awaiting the results of an analysis, while Mercy Graves stood by with documents for him to sign.

Suddenly, a teleportation wormhole opened in the office. Mercy Graves instinctively moved to shield Lex, but he looked on with interest. Seeing Su Sheng and Black Siren step through with a Kryptonian corpse, Lex smiled and pushed Mercy aside.

"I knew you'd come," Lex said with a grin.

"You guessed I'd be here?" Su Sheng responded casually, returning the smile. "You look better bald."

Lex Luthor patted his bald head with a chuckle. "You didn't kill General Swanwick, so I figured you had something else in mind. I don't know why, but you seem to have been targeting me from the beginning—and not just because I'm a genius."

"What do you think is the reason?" Su Sheng asked, his curiosity piqued.

"The most likely reason is that you know the future. You know about Superman's existence, you knew Zod would return, and you know why I've done what I've done!" Lex replied confidently.

Su Sheng laughed. "You really are smart, Baldy. No wonder Brainiac considers you to have ninth-level intelligence."

"And what about him?" Lex wasn't surprised by Su Sheng's acknowledgment but was intrigued by the mention of Brainiac.

"Level 12, nearly the smartest in the entire universe."

"Quite a gap," Lex muttered, glancing at the Kryptonian corpse. "What do you need me to do?"

"I want to combine your genes with his to create something more powerful and interesting. Are you interested?" Su Sheng asked with a mischievous smile.

The word "combine" immediately sparked misunderstanding. Both Mercy Graves and Black Siren looked surprised—combine with a dead alien? That seemed extreme. However, Lex didn't appear shocked at all and calmly continued the discussion. "Kryptonian genetic breeding technology is advanced. What do you intend to create by combining my genes with his?"

"Doomsday."

"A failed product of Kryptonian technology—ugly, malevolent, but incredibly powerful. It's one of the strongest biological weapons in the universe. It has earth-shattering strength, near-flight-level leaping ability, inexhaustible stamina, super-fast healing and regeneration, and the ability to evolve and adapt based on its opponent's powers. It even resurrects after being killed, and the same method won't work on it twice!"

"Are you interested?"

"Are you planning to destroy the world?" Lex asked, surprised.

Su Sheng shrugged. "Do you want to help?"

"Why not?" Lex laughed. "I hope people can learn from the tragedies that have befallen our world. And if you're confident enough to unleash it, you must also be sure you can control it, right?"

Su Sheng shrugged again. "I'm not sure. That's why I want to find out!"

"You want to replicate Doomsday's abilities?" Lex inquired.

Su Sheng hadn't considered that. After all, his own powers were already beyond most beings, and he could achieve similar effects with Doomsday's regular abilities. He was creating Doomsday purely for entertainment, to live up to his role as the ultimate villain—the Great Demon King!

PS: In the movie, Doomsday is created by combining Zod's corpse with Lex Luthor's genes. Doomsday has quite the track record in the comics, being one of the universe's strongest biological weapons, rivaling even Darkseid's parademons.
