Fiora's gaze was fixed on the unconscious General Zod, who was being dragged along the ground by Su Sheng. As she stared at Su Sheng, her eyes gradually turned red, glowing with the heat of her building rage.
Boom!
A blast of heat vision shot towards Su Sheng.
"Idiot." Su Sheng smirked, using Zod as a shield.
Poor General Zod, who had already been used as a battering ram to smash through the World Engine, was now serving as a meat shield against Fiora's heat vision.
"No!" Fiora screamed in horror as she saw her own heat vision strike Zod, causing him to slowly collapse to his knees. She rushed towards him, desperate to help.
Su Sheng, however, was quicker. As Fiora lunged forward, Su Sheng placed his hands on Zod's head and twisted it with a sharp snap.
The execution was swift and merciless.
With a sickening click, Zod's neck broke, and his body slumped to the ground just as Fiora reached out to him.
"No!" Fiora's anguished roar echoed through the air.
General Zod was dead.
After Krypton's destruction, Zod and his followers had scoured the universe for the reconnaissance ships sent to other planets thousands of years ago, hoping to find remnants of their people and rebuild their home. They had finally found the World Engine, discovered the location of the Codex, and were on the brink of restoring Krypton. But all of that—all their hopes—had been shattered by Su Sheng.
Zod was gone, and with him, the last hope of their people.
"I'll kill you!" Fiora shrieked, her voice filled with fury. "You killed our hero, the hope of Krypton!"
"He may have been your hero, but I'm a pirate," Su Sheng responded with a shrug. "As the saying goes, life and death are trivial, and if you can't accept it, then do something about it. But you want to play the villain and also demand respect? You're the invaders here!"
As Fiora tried to shield Zod's body, Su Sheng reached out to grab it.
"What are you doing?!" Fiora instinctively pulled Zod's body away, but before she could react, Su Sheng had already snatched it from her grasp.
She didn't even see how he did it. All she felt was a lightness as Zod's body disappeared, and then a fist slammed into her face.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Fiora was sent flying, crashing through the nearby building. The sounds of destruction echoed one after another, and it took a long time for them to finally cease.
Amidst the rubble, Fiora lay unconscious, groaning weakly.
Picking up Zod's body, Su Sheng took to the sky and flew back to the military base.
At the base, several soldiers lay dead, and General Swanwick, Lex Luthor, Carol Ferris, and Lois Lane were hiding nearby. The Disciple hovered not far away, with Thea and Lisa loading the bodies of Kryptonians into its hold. In the sky above, Laura was engaged in combat with a Kryptonian in a battle suit, while the Black Siren, Betty, and Ballistic dealt with the remaining two Kryptonians on the ground.
Su Sheng casually tossed Zod's body towards the Disciple.
"General Zod!" Laura's opponent screamed in rage upon seeing Zod's lifeless body, abandoning her fight with Laura to charge at Su Sheng.
With a swift turn, Su Sheng reached out.
Click.
Another Kryptonian's neck was snapped, and Su Sheng felt a strange satisfaction. No wonder assassins and agents in movies favored this method—it was simple, efficient, and the sharp crack was oddly satisfying. He turned his attention to the last two Kryptonians, his gaze drifting towards their necks.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
The two Kryptonians shot into the air, attempting to flee.
"Trying to run? Not on my watch," Su Sheng laughed and took off after them.
The powerful shockwave of his pursuit buffeted the onlookers, and when the dust settled, they saw Su Sheng holding two more Kryptonian corpses by their drooping necks. He tossed them into the Disciple as well. If Fiora was excluded, only three Kryptonians remained, and each one's corpse was a potential Doomsday weapon—too valuable to waste.
Just as Su Sheng was about to use the Speed Force to track the remaining Kryptonians, he heard a sonic boom in the sky. The sound barrier shattered, and a red cape fluttered as Superman descended, carrying the last three Kryptonians in his hands.
"Not bad, you're pretty fast!" Su Sheng grinned, patting Superman's shoulder and taking the Kryptonians from him.
Superman, caught off guard by Su Sheng's friendly demeanor, hesitated for a moment before handing over the Kryptonians. But as soon as he let go, Su Sheng swiftly placed his hands on one of the Kryptonian's heads and snapped its neck with ease.
Click!
The Kryptonian crumpled to the ground.
"Why are you doing this...?" Superman exclaimed in shock, but before he could process what had happened, the second Kryptonian was already dead. Seeing Su Sheng reach for the third, Superman tried to intervene, but he was too late.
Crack!
"What did you say?" Su Sheng asked, as if he hadn't heard Superman's question until just now, as the third Kryptonian fell lifeless to the ground.
What could Superman say?
It was too late—the Kryptonians were already dead.
Looking at the pile of Kryptonian corpses growing beside the Disciple, Superman's heart ached. He felt as if he had lost something precious, leaving him feeling blue and disheartened.
As the Black Siren and the others began loading the bodies into the Disciple and prepared to leave, Su Sheng waved at General Swanwick.
General Swanwick flinched instinctively. Seeing the same smile on Su Sheng's face that had been there when he had brutally snapped the Kryptonians' necks, Swanwick's nerves got the better of him. He walked towards Su Sheng but stopped a few meters away.
"Come closer. Can you hear me from that far?" Su Sheng said casually.
"Yes, I can hear you just fine from here," General Swanwick replied nervously.
"Are you afraid of me?" Su Sheng narrowed his eyes, his smile turning cold. "Why are you afraid of me? Sure, I did all that just for my own amusement, but... didn't I also help you? I took care of the Kryptonians, destroyed the World Engine, and saved the Earth. And now you're looking at me like I'm the bad guy, like I'm some sort of devil. What's that supposed to mean?"
"I... I didn't mean it like that, I just..." General Swanwick stammered, trying to explain, but before he could finish, Su Sheng suddenly appeared right in front of him, grabbing his head with both hands.
General Swanwick froze, his body going rigid.
Cold sweat trickled down his temples.
Su Sheng held Swanwick's head lightly, watching him squirm in fear, and then chuckled. "You've ruined my good mood. Now tell me... what should I do about that?"
"Don't!" Carol Ferris, though frightened by Su Sheng's ruthless demeanor, ran over and pleaded with him desperately.
Lois Lane followed closely, trying to persuade Su Sheng to let Swanwick go. After all, General Swanwick was a good man, someone who had fought against the Kryptonians and protected them.
"You're afraid I'll kill him? But... does it really matter?"
