Chapter 160 - Chapter 159: First Meeting with Batman

"Is fear ever useful? Not against me." Su Sheng's power was undeniable—he could kill Kryptonians in seconds, and his mental control alone made fear irrelevant. Lois Lane knew this from personal experience.

Watching Su Sheng's unpredictable smile and General Swanwick's trembling, sweat-drenched face, Lois gently placed her hand on Su Sheng's arm. When Su Sheng glanced at her, she softly shook her head and pleaded, "Let's go, okay?"

"This isn't over, is it? You must have a reason for collecting Kryptonian corpses, right? And that female Kryptonian—she disappeared just now. Aren't you going to find her?" Lois's plea had a calming effect, and Su Sheng finally released his grip on General Swanwick.

"You're right; it's not over. I might spare you, but I guarantee you'll regret crossing me!" Su Sheng's smile was bright, but his words carried a chilling promise. As General Swanwick let out a sigh of relief, Su Sheng chuckled darkly. "It's not over yet. You may not die, but trust me, you'll wish you had."

"What... what are you planning?" General Swanwick stammered, fear creeping back into his voice.

Without answering, Su Sheng grabbed Lois Lane and shot into the sky with a thunderous bang.

General Swanwick stood frozen, his mind racing, until he saw Superman follow suit, flying off in pursuit.

Lex Luthor, who had been observing the scene, suddenly chuckled. "Well, that was entertaining. Time to go," he said, turning away from the chaos.

The once noisy surroundings grew eerily quiet, a stark contrast to the earlier chaos.

"General," Carol Ferris spoke hesitantly.

General Swanwick shook his head. "I'm fine. Let's get back to managing the situation."

Zod's spaceship was split in two when the World Engine activated. Although a few smaller ships remained intact, they were of little use. Creating Doomsday would require a Kryptonian Genesis Chamber, where the corpses of Kryptonians could be transformed into Doomsday using Kryptonian genetic technology. The only preserved chamber was in Superman's Fortress of Solitude. Though its location was unknown, it wouldn't be hard to find.

In the heart of Metropolis, the city lay in ruins—buildings reduced to rubble, vehicles abandoned. Survivors clung to life, some in disbelief at their survival, others mourning lost friends and family. Su Sheng activated his X-ray vision, scanning for Fiora.

Searching the entire city wasn't difficult for him.

"Escaped again?"

Despite sweeping the area, Fiora was nowhere to be found, which surprised Su Sheng. How had she managed to flee so effectively? But while he didn't locate Fiora, he found something else—Bruce Wayne, also known as Batman. In the movie, Bruce Wayne's company was destroyed in this battle, leading to the deaths of many innocent employees. This fueled his grudge against Superman, setting the stage for the eventual clash between Batman and Superman, orchestrated by Lex Luthor. Now, with no battle between Superman and Zod, it was uncertain whether Bruce Wayne would fixate on Superman. But given Superman's existence as a potential threat, it was likely.

And what about Su Sheng himself?

"Let's go meet someone," Su Sheng smirked, steering Lois Lane in Batman's direction.

He had missed encountering Batman in Gotham before, but now, the opportunity was too good to pass up.

"Is that Bruce Wayne?" Lois asked, curious about who they were meeting. It didn't take long for her to recognize the famous billionaire. As a reporter, she knew Bruce Wayne on sight.

Even before they reached him, Bruce Wayne had already recognized them. As a shareholder of the Daily Planet, he was well-acquainted with Lois Lane. And Su Sheng? Bruce knew him even better. After recovering from Bane's assault, Bruce had returned to Gotham only to hear Su Sheng's name repeatedly—Su Sheng, who had killed Bane, and whose name was frequently mentioned by Batgirl Barbara and Miranda Tate, albeit with different sentiments. Barbara spoke of Su Sheng with mixed feelings, often complaining but also showing a certain fondness. Miranda, Bruce's girlfriend, was a different story. Bruce knew all too well what Su Sheng had done to her and what he had taken from her.

So when Bruce saw Su Sheng, his face darkened.

"Hi, Bruce," Su Sheng greeted him with a wave.

"Hello, Mr. Bruce Wayne," Lois added politely.

Bruce nodded, his eyes narrowing as he addressed Su Sheng. "What do you want?"

"Nothing much. Just wanted to say hello since it's rare to see you, and to pass on my regards to your girlfriend," Su Sheng replied with a chuckle.

Bruce's expression shifted slightly before he forced a smile. "Alright. Since we've met, shall we talk?"

"Sure."

Su Sheng patted Lois on the shoulder. "Wait for me here."

Lois nodded and stepped aside.

Bruce maintained his smile, but his tone was icy. "Give me what's mine."

He knew that Su Sheng was aware of his Batman identity.

"That's not going to happen," Su Sheng replied with a grin. "Your girlfriend has a great figure—something to admire when I'm bored."

"You're asking for death!" Bruce growled through gritted teeth.

"But you can't kill me," Su Sheng said casually, patting Bruce on the shoulder as if offering advice. "If you can't handle it, maybe you should just break up."

Bruce wanted to lash out but knew it wasn't the right time.

Taking a deep breath, he muttered, "Don't let me catch you off guard."

"Threats—you're good at them," Su Sheng said, unfazed. "But I'm pretty good at them too. So if you don't want your girlfriend to get hurt, then..."

Su Sheng paused, his gaze shifting to Lois Lane standing nearby. "Give me your shares in the Daily Planet."

"You..." Bruce stared at Su Sheng, seething.

"Don't be like that. After all, your superpower is being rich, right? Shares in the Daily Planet don't mean much to you. Oh, and one more thing—watch out for Superman," Su Sheng said with a sly grin. "Lex Luthor almost dissected him once. If he gets angry, you know how much damage he can do."
