Chapter 157 - Chapter 156: The Neck-Breaking Madman, Su Sheng

Yellow sunlight grants Kryptonians a multitude of powerful abilities. This transformation is akin to evolving from human to god, making it exceedingly difficult to control. Just moments ago, Fiora had struggled under the sunlight's effects. Superman, who had grown up on Earth, spent years adapting to these changes and learning to control his superpowers. However, Zod, the former military commander of Krypton, had spent nearly his entire life mastering control over his body and power.

Perhaps it was his genetic makeup that made him a perfect warrior from birth, but Zod adapted to the changes brought on by the yellow sunlight in an incredibly short time. As his feet slowly lifted off the ground, Su Sheng smiled.

"Wait?" Su Sheng asked with a smirk.

"Are you afraid?" Zod responded coldly.

"I told you to wait for the others. When they've all gained their abilities, you can attack together! It wouldn't be fun to beat you one at a time!" Su Sheng smiled. "Besides, I'm waiting for someone to come and collect your corpses!"

Zod glanced at the others, who were still struggling to adapt to their new powers, but remained silent, his expression grim.

Since Su Sheng was so confident, Zod was willing to bide his time. After all, the World Engine needed time to transform Earth's environment.

"Hm?"

Noticing that Zod wasn't making a move, Su Sheng took a moment to glance around. Fiora was gone!

The injuries from the kryptonite dagger had been severe, and under normal circumstances, Fiora should have died. But perhaps the effects of kryptonite were mitigated by the brief exposure to sunlight? With the added self-healing and recovery abilities granted by absorbing the sunlight, could Fiora have survived?

But where had she gone?

Su Sheng scanned the area, but there was no sign of Fiora.

"Hiding? Or did she run? That doesn't seem like something Fiora would do," Su Sheng muttered. Though it was a pity to lose a body, if she had fled, he could track her down later. As long as she was still on Earth, there was no escape.

The groans of pain from the remaining Kryptonians gradually subsided as they floated into the air alongside Zod. In the sunlight, their dark suits exuded a menacing aura of destruction.

Finally, when the last Kryptonian had successfully mastered the change, Zod spoke. "If you're waiting for reinforcements, I'll give you some time."

"No need. I'm actually looking forward to seeing what it's like to beat up a group of Supermen," Su Sheng chuckled, taunting them with a casual wave of his fingers. "Come at me, all of you."

"Hmph!"

One of the Kryptonians, unable to stand Su Sheng's arrogance, leaped into the air the moment Su Sheng's voice trailed off. With a whoosh, he soared into the sky, then plummeted down, aiming a powerful punch at Su Sheng.

Like a human missile.

Su Sheng didn't move, not even bothering to look. Instead, he relied on his super senses, feeling every movement as if it were playing out in his mind. Just as the Kryptonian's fist was about to connect, Su Sheng acted. He sidestepped the punch effortlessly and caught the Kryptonian's neck in a single, fluid motion.

"Urgh..." A pained grunt escaped the Kryptonian's lips.

Su Sheng's grip on his neck tightened, and with a sudden twist, he snapped it.

The Kryptonian's crimson eyes dimmed, and Su Sheng casually tossed the body aside. The lifeless form crashed to the ground, unmoving.

"How dare you!"

"Didn't I tell you to come at me together?" Su Sheng mocked with a chuckle.

Swish!

In an instant, all the remaining Kryptonians, including Zod, charged at Su Sheng simultaneously.

The scene became a blur of motion.

Countless Kryptonians in dark suits launched attacks from all directions, using different techniques and strategies. Yet, even against multiple foes, Su Sheng held his ground, unfazed. He didn't rely on his speed or a kryptonite dagger; he simply used his superhuman abilities and extensive combat experience to counter their moves. Every small adjustment in his stance became an attack, forcing his opponents to either defend or evade.

This was the difference between a master fighter and the ordinary.

These Kryptonians might have gained power from the sunlight, but not all of them were warriors. Batman, with only human strength, could hold his own through sheer fighting skill—so imagine Su Sheng, who possessed the same power as his enemies.

Numbers didn't matter; only Zod and one other truly posed a challenge. Once again, it was proven that bald men are indeed strong!

"Crack!"

Seizing an opportunity, Su Sheng snapped the neck of another Kryptonian and tossed the body aside. Meanwhile, the bald Kryptonian lunged at Su Sheng from behind, locking him in a bear hug. Crimson beams shot from the bald Kryptonian's eyes, striking the back of Su Sheng's head, while Zod fired his own heat vision in tandem. Two rays blasted forth, one after the other.

Boom!

The two beams collided, and both Zod and the bald Kryptonian halted instantly.

"Where did he go?"

Su Sheng, who had been held by the bald Kryptonian, was nowhere to be seen.

"Over here!"

Suddenly, Su Sheng appeared behind the bald Kryptonian. A quick beam from his eyes sent Zod flying, while Su Sheng grabbed the bald Kryptonian's shoulder and pressed down hard.

Crack!

The ground caved in as the bald Kryptonian's legs sank into the earth. Su Sheng's gaze swept across the battlefield, his eye beams following the movement.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

One by one, the surrounding Kryptonians were struck by the beams and sent flying.

"You too, lie down!" Su Sheng declared, grabbing the bald Kryptonian's neck with both hands and twisting it sharply.

Crack!

The sound of the bald Kryptonian's neck breaking echoed as his body slumped to the ground. With his legs still stuck in the ground, the awkward posture of his fall looked bizarre. Su Sheng glanced at the body and stomped down.

Crack!

The bald Kryptonian's legs broke, and his body settled into a more natural position.

"Much better," Su Sheng nodded in satisfaction.

The Kryptonian's steel-like body, combined with their superhuman healing abilities, could counteract a lot of damage. For example, Fiora was likely already recovering. But snapping their necks was a different story—even sunlight couldn't reverse that kind of damage, as Superman had demonstrated when he killed Zod in the movie.

"Looks like I'm becoming a neck-breaking madman!" Su Sheng joked, chuckling as Zod charged at him once more.
