Chapter 148 - Chapter 147: Copy Superman's Ability

"Kal-El, son of Krypton, please land immediately and submit for review."

"Kal-El, son of Krypton, please land immediately and submit for review."

"Kal-El, son of Krypton, please land immediately and submit for review."

The broadcast echoed repeatedly as several helicopters surrounded Superman, issuing stern warnings. Down below, the streets had been cordoned off by the Sky Eye Society, with soldiers nervously aiming their weapons at Superman hovering in the sky.

Superman remained silent, his gaze fixed on Su Sheng and Lois Lane.

Boom!

The apartment door was suddenly forced open as Amanda Waller stormed in, accompanied by Joan Muen and several heavily armed soldiers.

"How did you—" Lois Lane began to ask how they could just barge in like that, but Amanda Waller cut her off, directing her to stand next to Su Sheng.

"I've evacuated the entire block. Whatever you're planning, do it with confidence. Just make sure you can catch him," Amanda Waller said gravely.

Su Sheng smirked, ignoring her as he elegantly pushed open the window. He stood on the edge, then stepped forward.

His actions shocked everyone. The apartment was more than 20 stories up—taking that step should have meant falling to his death. Superman's eyes widened, ready to swoop in for a rescue.

"It's so cold," Lois Lane muttered as she shivered.

A path of ice formed beneath Su Sheng's feet, holding him steadily. With each step he took toward Superman, the ice extended further, creating a walkway in midair.

This sight left everyone stunned.

Watching the growing path of ice, Superman frowned. "How do you know what the news said? Zod... is he really coming to Earth?"

Since Superman was wearing this outfit, he must have discovered his origins from the Fortress of Solitude. It was likely that his father's consciousness was embedded in the Master Key that had traveled to Earth with him. When Superman activated the Fortress of Solitude, his father's program had been downloaded into the ship, revealing his true identity.

"Why aren't you wearing red underwear?" Su Sheng replied, completely ignoring Superman's question. He feigned disappointment. "It's a real letdown, you know? You not wearing the red trunks—what am I supposed to make fun of now? Seriously, go get some red underwear and then we'll talk."

"Why should I wear red underwear?" Superman asked, utterly bewildered.

"Because it's the symbol of Superman. The S stands for hope, but the red trunks are just as iconic," Su Sheng stated matter-of-factly.

"I never planned on wearing underwear outside my suit, let alone red. Now, tell me how you know these things!" Although Superman was a Kryptonian, he had grown up on Earth and couldn't fathom the idea of wearing his underwear on the outside.

"No trunks? Then you're not Superman. And if you're not Superman..." Su Sheng suddenly lunged forward and punched Superman square in the face.

Despite Superman's body of steel, the blow sent him flying. His body crashed into the building behind him, smashing through walls and sending debris flying everywhere.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The once-sturdy building now resembled a crumbling project as Superman was hurled through wall after wall, eventually flying out the other side.

Shards of glass scattered as the entire floor's load-bearing walls collapsed. The upper floors tilted dangerously outward, teetering on the brink of disaster.

"My God!"

No one had anticipated that Su Sheng and Superman would wield such destructive power. Even though Amanda Waller had evacuated the block, she had clearly underestimated the sheer force of their battle.

"Everyone, get out of here! Notify nearby blocks to evacuate immediately."

It was clear now that one block wasn't enough to contain the battlefield. Amanda Waller turned and hurried out, barking orders. Lois Lane, still in shock, watched as Su Sheng walked on his icy path, circling the building to catch up to Superman. He grabbed Superman's cape and tossed him back toward their building, jolting her back to reality. She quickly ran out of the apartment, desperate to escape.

Boom!

Another loud crash echoed as Superman's body smashed through the wall and collapsed to the ground with a groan.

Lois Lane froze in terror, watching as Superman rose and charged forward, fists first, before she resumed her frantic escape down the stairs.

Boom!

Superman shot out of the building like a missile, fists extended, aiming straight for Su Sheng.

Whoosh!

An ice wall suddenly materialized in front of Superman, but he blasted through it without hesitation.

Whoosh!

Another ice wall appeared.

Su Sheng conjured wall after wall of ice, but they were no match for Superman's indestructible body. Superman shattered each one in quick succession, finally reaching Su Sheng and throwing a powerful punch.

"Why?!"

He couldn't understand how Su Sheng knew so much about him, nor why he insisted on fighting him.

"Copy succeeded."

As Su Sheng grinned, looking at the angry and confused Superman, he suddenly leaned back and let himself fall.

In a split second, Su Sheng dropped from the icy platform.

As he plummeted, a smile curled on his lips, and he closed his eyes. Through the rushing wind, he could hear the soldiers below exclaiming in shock, Amanda Waller muttering curses under her breath, and even Lois Lane's rapidly pounding heart. This was Superman's super hearing. Although Su Sheng's senses were already heightened from copying Diana's abilities, Superman's hearing was on another level. Not that it mattered much to Su Sheng—he could stack powers as much as he liked.

He heard Superman rapidly descending after him and suddenly opened his eyes. His gaze turned red and fiery as he unleashed a blast of heat vision at the approaching Superman.

Superman froze in midair, stunned.

How could he have this power? Is he a Kryptonian too? It must be—how else would he know about Krypton? Although Superman wasn't sure how Su Sheng had come to Earth, he was now certain that Su Sheng was a Kryptonian.

Boom!

The heat vision struck Superman, sending him hurtling backward.

Su Sheng spread his arms wide, embracing the fall as if he were bungee jumping.

Boom!

He hit the ground with a loud crash.

A deep crater formed where Su Sheng landed.

The nearby soldiers stood in shock, exchanging bewildered glances before cautiously raising their weapons and approaching the crater.

Step by step, they neared the edge and peered down to see Su Sheng lying still, his eyes closed.

"Could he have... died from the fall?" one soldier whispered. But before they could react, Superman flew over from a distance.

Hearing the sound, the soldiers instinctively turned and opened fire on Superman.

Rat-a-tat! Rat-a-tat!

Bullets ricocheted off Superman's body harmlessly.

"Bungee jumping... that was fun," Su Sheng chuckled softly, opening his eyes as he flipped over and stood up.
