New grudges mixed with old ones!
Vandal Savage raised the Baton of the Sun God high above his head, his rage palpable as he smashed it down with all his might.
A brilliant blue energy beam shot out from the Baton, spreading destruction around it.
Boom!
Everything nearby was crushed and disintegrated in an instant. The shockwave passed by Su Sheng, and explosions erupted behind him.
A true man never looks back at explosions.
Su Sheng didn't turn around; he simply pouted in disappointment. The power of the Baton of the Sun God was mediocre at best. Despite its apparent destructive capacity, it was nothing compared to the true power Su Sheng possessed, and he was completely unharmed.
"This... this is impossible!" Vandal Savage stammered, unable to believe his eyes as he looked at the unscathed Su Sheng.
"Hello, my name is 'Impossible,'" Su Sheng chuckled, appearing before Vandal Savage in an instant. He gently placed a finger on Vandal's forehead.
In a flash, a bone-chilling cold radiated from Su Sheng's fingertip. Vandal Savage's expression twisted in pain as he tried to dodge, but the cold rapidly froze the blood in his brain, and ice soon covered his entire body, turning him into a human popsicle.
With a wave of his hand, Su Sheng released a shockwave, creating a wormhole beneath Vandal Savage's feet. The frozen villain fell through it instantly.
Thud!
The ice-encased Vandal Savage landed directly on the floor of the Disciple, startling Caitlin Snow and Eliza Harmon, who were deeply engrossed in studying cells.
"Who is this?" Caitlin asked curiously as Su Sheng jumped out of the wormhole.
"Another experiment," Su Sheng replied with a light chuckle. "He has an extraordinary regenerative ability. As long as a single cell remains, he can resurrect himself. Study his cells to see if they can fix the serum's drawbacks."
"Is he some kind of experiment?" Caitlin asked, still puzzled.
"Not exactly," Su Sheng explained. "He's an ancient monster who has lived for countless years. I had some unfinished business with him, so I took this opportunity to settle it." As Su Sheng spoke, he began thawing Vandal Savage, giving Caitlin a brief window to study his cells before he revived.
Meanwhile, Eliza Harmon's submissive personality had yet to be overtaken by her second, more aggressive persona, allowing her to assist without causing trouble. Though she had been brought here suddenly, she soon proved useful. Vandal Savage's cells were indeed unique. Although Su Sheng had copied his abilities, his own body remained indistinguishable from that of an ordinary person, indicating that the copied abilities didn't alter his physical form. Even though his cells were valuable, Su Sheng had no intention of using himself as a lab rat.
Before long, Vandal Savage revived.
Before he could grasp what was happening, Su Sheng instantly used mind control to ensure his cooperation.
As the day turned into night, Caitlin Snow and Eliza Harmon, both geniuses in their fields, made rapid progress. In the original timeline, Caitlin had upgraded the Velocity serum, and Eliza had shown her talent by reverse-engineering the serum formula. Now, with Caitlin explaining the serum's workings to her, Eliza was eager to dive in, knowing firsthand what it meant to be a speedster.
Su Sheng had Laura prepare some supper, and the three continued their research as they ate.
As dawn broke, the first rays of sunlight began to illuminate the earth, casting a silver-gray veil over the landscape. The quiet of the night was shattered by Caitlin Snow's excited shout. She turned to Su Sheng with a gleam in her eye. "The data comparison is perfect! We just need to test it..."
Pfft!
Before Caitlin could finish, Eliza Harmon injected the serum into her arm. Yellow lightning flickered in her eyes as Eliza trembled with excitement. In an instant, she transformed into a blur of motion, moving at lightning speed and shouting in exhilaration. After a few moments, she stopped.
"How do I look?" she asked Caitlin breathlessly.
"Everything seems normal!" Caitlin confirmed, albeit with a hint of hesitation.
"Do we still need to keep his cells as a backup?" Su Sheng asked Caitlin.
Caitlin shook her head. "I've used his cells to create regenerative artificial cells. As long as we have these, we can produce more serum indefinitely, but we'll still need your Speed Force."
"Perfect!" Su Sheng exclaimed, grabbing Vandal Savage and heading out. He ran all the way to a remote location outside the city.
Activating Bomb Girl Betty's power, Su Sheng turned Vandal Savage's entire body into a bomb. This transformation extended to every cell in his body. Although Vandal Savage could only be killed in a specific way—using the meteorite that gave him and Hawkman their powers—Su Sheng knew that completely destroying every cell in his body would prevent any chance of resurrection.
Releasing his mind control, Su Sheng lightly tapped his bracelet.
His steel battle suit instantly enveloped his body.
"No matter what you do, you can't kill me. I'll be back for you," Vandal Savage snarled at Su Sheng.
With a click, the black-gold mask locked onto Su Sheng's face, and his eyes glowed. He raised his hand and snapped his fingers.
Boom!
The explosion was instantaneous. Vandal Savage detonated like a missile, the flames shooting skyward and forming a mushroom cloud. The fiery shockwave spread in all directions, but Su Sheng's black-gold battle suit withstood the blast. Ground stakes extended from his suit's calves, anchoring him securely, while the suit's cooling system activated, keeping him comfortable.
After a while, the explosion subsided, and the air cleared.
Su Sheng inspected his suit and found that the explosion had caused minimal damage—just a bit of paint needed retouching.
"Not bad," Su Sheng said with satisfaction, scanning the area for any remaining traces of Vandal Savage.
Once he was sure there were no limbs or cells left, Su Sheng's battle suit blasted energy, lifting him into the air. As he ascended, the suit suddenly accelerated.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Sonic booms echoed through the sky, the sound barriers visibly breaking around him as he flew.
