The city of Starling was in chaos following Thea Quinn's kidnapping, but Central City was in an even worse state.
The trio of meta-humans, who were already difficult to handle, had become even more reckless after The Flash's disappearance. Joe West was forced into hiding. After Barry Allen and his team's plan to trap them failed, Caitlin Snow was kidnapped, and her whereabouts became unknown. Green Arrow had to return to Starling City to protect his family, but despite his efforts, his sister was still taken by Su Sheng.
Meanwhile, Harrison Wells and Sisko Ramon were working tirelessly to get Barry Allen back up to speed, but the progress was agonizingly slow. Seeing criminals wreaking havoc on the city and hearing people cry out for The Flash, Barry Allen was overwhelmed with guilt and regret for his decisions.
As red lightning streaked through Central City, Su Sheng returned to his villa with Thea Quinn and the real Dr. Harrison Wells.
"Uh, is this your house?" Thea Quinn asked, trying to steady herself as she took in her surroundings.
"Laura," Su Sheng called out, and Laura appeared from another room.
"Prepare a room for her. She'll be staying here temporarily," Su Sheng instructed.
Laura nodded and gestured for Thea to follow her. Although hesitant, Thea eventually followed Laura, engaging in light conversation as they walked away.
Meanwhile, at the Discipleship, in the prison area:
Caitlin Snow, still reeling from her situation, was taken aback when she saw Su Sheng enter the room with a body bag. Despite her lack of clothing, she stood up nervously and asked, "Who…who is this?"
"Harrison Wells," Su Sheng replied nonchalantly as he dropped the bag on the floor.
"Dr. Wells? You…you killed Dr. Wells? Why? Why do you think he's Reverse-Flash?" Caitlin Snow asked, her voice rising with a mix of anger and confusion.
"Why do you think he's not?" Su Sheng retorted as he opened the body bag.
Caitlin froze as she looked at the desiccated body inside. "What…what is this?"
"This is the real Dr. Harrison Wells. Fifteen years ago, he and his wife were in a car accident. His wife died, and he left Starling City to come to Central City, where he established S.T.A.R. Labs. This is the real Harrison Wells' corpse. A simple examination will reveal the truth. If this is the real Harrison Wells, then…"
"Then who is the Dr. Harrison Wells we know?" Caitlin finished, her voice barely above a whisper.
Caitlin had always believed in Dr. Wells, never doubting him for a second. But now, seeing the corpse and hearing Su Sheng's words, she couldn't help but feel uncertain. Su Sheng opened her cell and handed her some clothes.
"Put these on and come with me."
Caitlin quickly dressed, and Su Sheng led her and the body bag out of the prison area and into the experimental area of the Discipleship.
"This…is this a spaceship?" Caitlin asked, her eyes wide as she took in her surroundings.
"The Discipleship, a spaceship that can travel through time," Su Sheng said with a chuckle. "Speaking of the Discipleship, I just remembered there are still a couple of enemies I haven't dealt with yet. I should make time for that."
Su Sheng hadn't forgotten about the last attack on the Discipleship by the Council of Time Masters and Vandal Savage. Though he wasn't one to seek out revenge immediately, he certainly wasn't the type to let grudges go easily. He would deal with them when the time was right.
"A time ship?" Caitlin repeated in shock. "So…that's how you know so much that we don't?"
"Something like that," Su Sheng replied, too lazy to go into details. "But first, let's deal with this situation."
Caitlin nodded, her mind still reeling from everything she had learned. She checked the equipment, familiarizing herself with it before running a thorough examination of the mummified corpse.
Half an hour later, the results were in.
"Aren't you going to look?" Su Sheng asked, noticing Caitlin hesitating. He gently pushed her toward the screen and lifted her chin to make her look.
"This…this is really Harrison Wells' body, so…who is the man we know as Dr. Wells?" Caitlin's face went pale as the reality of the situation sank in. She turned to Su Sheng, her eyes filled with guilt. "I…I'm sorry. I misunderstood you."
"It doesn't matter," Su Sheng said, shrugging off her apology. "This is just a game between me and Reverse-Flash."
"I'm really sorry. If…if our trap had succeeded, I would've killed you and…let him win," Caitlin said, her voice full of regret. She had never imagined that the man she respected and admired could be an imposter. "I need to tell Sisko and Barry immediately."
"I'll take you there," Su Sheng offered. "I'd love to see how Reverse-Flash reacts."
Caitlin carefully packed up the body, and Su Sheng brought her and the body bag back to S.T.A.R. Labs.
As soon as they arrived, they were met by a flash of yellow lightning.
Barry Allen had regained his speed.
"It's you!" Barry shouted, skidding to a halt. Sisko Ramon and Harrison Wells, who were also in the lab, turned to face them, both looking tense.
They had just managed to get Barry's speed back by using an extremely dangerous method of shocking him with a massive electric current, reactivating the Speed Force in his cells. It was a risky move, but it had worked. Now, seeing Su Sheng arrive right after their success, they couldn't help but feel on edge.
"Caitlin, are you okay?" Sisko asked, his concern evident.
Caitlin glanced at Su Sheng before answering, "I'm fine. He didn't do anything to me."
"Thank God," Sisko sighed in relief.
"Wait…" Su Sheng interrupted. "Does this conversation sound familiar? Like the last time I kidnapped you?"
"It…does," Caitlin admitted after a moment.
"What do you want?" Harrison Wells asked, his voice cold as he glared at Su Sheng from his wheelchair.
"It's not too late to call me father, though I'm not exactly eager for the role," Su Sheng smirked at Wells. "This corpse is the one you dealt with fifteen years ago. You know exactly what I'm talking about. Once the results are out, your identity won't stay hidden. Not only will you have to leave S.T.A.R. Labs, but you also won't be able to protect Barry. He'll be chasing you down, and while he might not catch you, you can't kill him either. You know what that means, don't you?"
Su Sheng leaned closer, his voice dropping to a menacing whisper. "This is your last chance. I don't want the game to end so soon."
