Chapter 53 - Chapter 53: Going Further and Further in the Role of the Enemy

A sudden disaster had shattered the long-standing peace of Paradise Island.

Anger, sorrow, and confusion were etched on every face. The soldiers who had been fighting at the shore were brought back by the guards and treated alongside the other injured. The Amazons helped and comforted one another, but the island was steeped in an atmosphere of sadness and despair.

At the entrance of the Amazon Palace, several guards stood at attention in the main hall.

Menalippe clenched her weapon tightly, her face livid as she stared at Su Sheng, who now sat high on the throne. She wanted to act but dared not make a move.

A low groan suddenly came from below the throne, and Diana slowly regained consciousness.

Her armor had been shattered during the battle and the rough dragging, leaving her body covered in mud, looking utterly disheveled. As she opened her eyes, she was startled by the blue electric current that bound her. Then she saw her mother, Menalippe, and General Antiope, all similarly restrained.

"Mother, Antiope!" Diana cried out in anger, trying to break free from the electric bonds, but the moment she struggled, the electric current intensified.

A scream of pain tore from her throat, and Diana collapsed to the ground, twitching weakly.

"Ares, I will kill you!" Diana struggled to lift her head, glaring at Su Sheng, who sat on the throne, her voice filled with venom.

Ares?

Was he truly Ares, the God of War?

Menalippe and the others looked at Su Sheng in shock. Almost every Amazon knew about the ancient feud between Ares and Paradise Island.

Seeing the fury in Diana's eyes, Su Sheng spoke with a surprisingly friendly tone. "I'm not Ares, the old God of War. My name is Su Sheng, and I came here from the future through time. There's a group of people called the Legends who believe I've altered history, so they sent me here while they attempt to correct what they call 'mistakes' and restore history to its original path."

"Legends? Time travel? From the future?" Diana stared blankly at the man who called himself Su Sheng, struggling to process his words.

"Lies!" Menalippe shouted. "Ares is known for his deceit, for using lies to provoke others."

Su Sheng looked at Menalippe with an expression that suggested he was dealing with someone profoundly ignorant. "Every breath you take right now is due to my mercy. What point would there be in lying to you?"

Menalippe glared at him but couldn't argue.

"Even if you're not Ares, you're still an enemy of Paradise Island," she retorted.

"So, you're emphasizing that we're enemies, reminding me that I should kill you all?" Su Sheng replied with a smile.

Menalippe faltered, realizing that wasn't her intention.

"Actually, I like Paradise Island a lot. I wanted to experience the local customs here, admire the beautiful scenery, maybe even enjoy a vacation while waiting for the Legends to come back and pick me up. Unfortunately, my first request was denied, leading to everything that followed," Su Sheng explained, looking at Diana with a hint of pity. "I didn't kill everyone, and I didn't destroy Paradise Island. It's difficult for some to accept, but if I allow Antiope and your mother to receive medical treatment and refrain from killing anyone else on the island, would you forgive me?"

"No!" Diana responded sternly. "I will never forgive you for the disaster you've brought to Paradise Island."

"That's really a shame," Su Sheng sighed, almost regretfully. Then, with a chuckle, he beckoned with a finger. The electric current binding Diana intensified, lifting her off the ground and forcing her to kneel before him. "I'm sorry, but standing up too high makes it tiring to look up and talk to you, so I can only ask you to kneel. Since you won't forgive me, I guess I'll have to fully embrace my role as the enemy."

"I hereby inform you that you are all my slaves now. If anyone disobeys or resists, I will kill every one of you and destroy Paradise Island."

"Do you understand?"

As Su Sheng's words fell, a powerful burst of divine power exploded from him.

Thunder roared, and divine energy surged.

The oppressive force was so overwhelming that Menalippe and the others were forced to retreat, their bodies involuntarily kneeling in submission.

"You... don't think for a moment that..." Diana, who was at the forefront of the attack, resisted with all her might. She tried to stand, her muscles straining, her eyes filled with determination. The divine power within her surged, and golden light enveloped her as she suddenly found the strength to fight back. A small smile of triumph tugged at her lips as she slowly rose to her feet, her knees no longer buckling under the weight.

With all her strength, Diana lunged at Su Sheng, roaring as she did.

Boom!

Golden light clashed violently with Su Sheng's divine power, resulting in an instant explosion.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Menalippe and the others were thrown back by the shockwave, crashing to the ground.

In the next moment, the entire palace began to crumble!

The ceiling above collapsed, but before the falling debris could touch them, it was pulverized by the sheer force of their divine power. In the midst of the ruins, Su Sheng grabbed Diana's fist and looked at her stunned expression with a slight smile. He then shook his arm, unleashing a surge of divine power several times stronger than hers.

Whoosh!

Diana was launched like a cannonball, flying through the air.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Her body smashed through countless walls and trees before finally crashing into the sea with a thunderous splash.

PS: The protagonist's villain attribute is emphasized again, so there may be some high-energy and evil actions. I will not say how to do it for the time being, but one thing is certain and can reassure everyone, that is, the woman the protagonist has been with may be his girlfriend or fling. Maybe they can come by force, but no matter if they follow the protagonist or leave or turn against each other, they will never have another man! Even if the protagonist falls for someone else's wife on a whim, the hat given is permanent and not temporary.
