The one who spoke was a young priest with short silver hair draped over his shoulders. He wore a black priest's robe and gazed at Haru with extremely violent eyes.
He occasionally licked the sharp knife in his hand as he slowly stepped forward from among the priests.
Raynare glanced sidelong at the young priest and said indifferently, "Oh, it's you, Freed Sellzen. Very well, let a lowly stray fool like you deal with an even lower devil. Oh, look at him, he seems quite frightened."
"Wow! What an absolutely splendid expression. I can't wait to see even more exciting reactions from you later. Do your best, Mr. Devil."
Freed looked at Haru's sorrowful expression with excitement, his body trembling continuously. A wet patch appeared on Freed's pants as he gazed over with an ecstatic smile.
Akeno Himejima frowned as she observed Haru's demeanor, her expression growing increasingly displeased.
Asia, terrified by the crazed priest ahead, gently tugged on Haru's sleeve and whispered, "Mr. Haru, maybe you shouldn't go... it's too dangerous."
Koneko Toujou quietly approached Haru from behind, lifted her small leg, and kicked his calf forcefully, saying disdainfully, "Hurry up and go."
Recalling how Haru had torn apart a Fallen Angel with his bare hands the previous night, Rias looked at the unresponsive Haru in confusion. She whispered in his ear, "What's wrong, Haru? The opponent isn't strong. As long as you stay calm and perform normally, you can win."
Kiba Yuuto slowly activated his Sacred Gear, Sword Birth, creating a slender, pure white sword adorned with mysterious patterns. He handed it to Haru.
"Take this sword that can counter the power of light. You can do it!"
Before he finished speaking, Haru's figure vanished from everyone's sight.
All of them were stunned, staring blankly at the spot where Haru had just stood.
"Where did he go?"
Drip... drip... They turned their heads toward the source of the sound.
Haru stood behind the previously arrogant Freed, gripping Freed's silver hair in his right hand, lifting his head by the hair.
Blood dripped from Freed's twisted neck onto the ground, making a dripping sound. Freed's face still maintained the joyful expression from before.
Then Freed's head spoke, his expression shifting from joy to confusion. "Huh? Whose body is that in front of me? Why doesn't it have a head? And why does it feel familiar?"
Everyone present had their pupils constrict sharply, staring in extreme shock at Haru standing there.
Kiba Yuuto's hand, which held the sword, froze mid-air. He exclaimed, "Delayed death?"
Asia stood there, utterly confused, her body stiffening. Beside her, Koneko Toujou, puzzled by Kiba Yuuto's reaction, softly asked, "What's 'delayed death'?"
Akeno Himejima covered her slightly open mouth with both hands due to shock. Reflected in her eyes was Freed's still-moving head, and she took a sharp breath.
"It refers to when someone is killed so quickly that their nervous system hasn't yet transmitted the death signal to the brain, so they can still move momentarily, it's called 'delayed death.'"
The corner of Rias mouth lifted slightly, revealing an incredibly charming smile.
Raynare's body trembled, her pupils shrinking to pinpoints. Forcing herself to remain composed, she looked at Haru standing below her and stammered, "What's this? Just a bit faster speed, that's all..."
She faltered, her eyes reflecting Haru's cold gaze. It felt as if she were standing before a ferocious dragon that blotted out the sky. Yet, her instincts told her that the one below was not human but a Satan capable of slaughtering all and pulling gods from their thrones.
With a cold expression, Haru looked at Raynare's alluring face and said flatly:
"You've been babbling nonstop since earlier. You killed me once, and you're so proud? Don't you think you resemble a squawking, ugly crow?"
"Pfft!!" With a stifled laugh, a nearby priest couldn't help but chuckle, quickly covering his mouth. But his shoulders kept shaking, and as he trembled, his laughing head fell from his neck.
"Hey, Pal, what's wrong..." A middle-aged priest beside him stared blankly at the lower half of his comrade named Pal, who had walked ahead. With a terrified look, he collapsed to the ground.
Panic erupted among the group of priests. Sounds of bodies falling echoed one after another. Whenever a priest moved, they discovered that parts of their bodies were falling off. The scene was utterly horrifying.
"Raynare, we have other matters. You handle this first," said the two Fallen Angels flying behind Raynare. Terrified by the gruesome scene on the ground, they exchanged glances and hurriedly flew away without looking back.
Raynare turned her head in shock, watching her two companions hastily retreat. She shouted angrily, "Mittelt! Kalawarner! You cowards..."
With two thuds, Haru released his grip on the Fallen Angels' wings, dropping them onto the ground.
"Were you looking for these two Fallen Angels?"
Raynare, like an old puppet with rusty joints, slowly turned her stiff neck to look at the two Fallen Angels beneath Haru.
What she saw were their mutilated, bloody bodies. She muttered to herself, "Impossible... I don't believe it... This can't be happening."
Raynare roared at Haru with a twisted expression, "You should be dead! I killed you three days ago!"
"This is all an illusion, yes... I must be dreaming in the church." Raynare's eyes became vacant as she stared at Haru's figure, laughing nervously.
"Oh dear, having a nightmare? Then let me use this to dispel it." Raynare slowly extended her right hand, light continuously gathering in her palm.
Light elements in the atmosphere converged into her hand, forming a three-meter-long spear of light. Raynare gripped it firmly with her right hand and shouted loudly:
"As a devil, you dare to force me to conjure a Spear of Light? With such foolishness, go to hell!"
The Spear of Light buzzed, instantly crossing dozens of meters to strike Haru.
"Dodge quickly!" Rias exclaimed in alarm.
Asia covered her eyes in despair, silently weeping.
With a dark expression, Haru said in an extremely cold tone, "You've been boasting about killing me with a Spear of Light. Fine, I'll let you experience it yourself."
After speaking, Haru's figure vanished instantly. When he reappeared, he was firmly gripping Raynare.
Raynare's eyes widened, her eyeballs seeming as if they would pop out of their sockets. She watched in shock, resentment, and fear as the Spear of Light rapidly approached. She screamed frantically:
"No!!!"
The Spear of Light pierced through Raynare's chest. Her body convulsed uncontrollably... After a moment, her head slowly drooped.
Rias pupils contracted slightly as she stared in shock at the Spear of Light that had struck Haru. She exclaimed, "The light is dissipating on its own?"
After Raynare's breathing completely ceased, the anger in Haru's heart began to subside. He gently grasped her fair arm, feeling its smoothness. Looking at a certain place, he showed a regretful expression.
Then, Haru suddenly revealed a strange smile. A faint green light began to emanate from his body, and a figure slowly materialized behind him...
