"Because you deserve mercy, and because of a small action you just took," Lin Yifan answered.
"What small action?"
"The action of putting away the knife," Lin Yifan replied.
"Just such a simple little action made you drop your anger?"
The bald robber looked confused and was incredibly surprised.
"Don't underestimate that small action, because it can reflect a person's character," Lin Yifan said.
"What character?" the bald robber pressed, really wanting to know.
"Kindness!" Lin Yifan replied, "Honestly, you're not a qualified robber. A real robber would stop at nothing to seize their target; your fear of hurting the victims made you put away your weapon, and this behavior doomed your robbery attempt."
"You're right, soft-hearted people are indeed not cut out to be robbers."
The bald robber shook his head and laughed bitterly, mocking his own actions.
"Tell me! What drove you to this irreversible path of crime and illegal activities?" Lin Yifan curiously asked.
