Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 Crazy Things

Lin Feifei went to the store to pick up the gown she had ordered and also bought two sets of clothes for Tangyu. Tangyu did not hesitate to accept them, although spending over twenty thousand on just two outfits did make him sigh at how different the world of the wealthy is.

Back on the road, the atmosphere was not as awkward as when they had come, but it was still quite silent. Lin Feifei seemed preoccupied with heavy thoughts.

Suddenly, Tangyu asked, "Miss Lin, have you ever done anything crazy in your life, from childhood to now?"

Lin Feifei was slightly startled and looked at Tangyu with some confusion, "Crazy? I've been late to school before—is that crazy?"

Tangyu smiled faintly and shook his head, "That's quite ordinary."

"Well then, I really can't recall doing anything crazy," Lin Feifei said.

Tangyu said, "You see, just as I expected, your childhood wasn't thrilling, nothing heart-stopping that you'd remember. Don't you think such a life lacks color? Like how you are now, we should be happy to be alive, why keep yourself so oppressed?"

Lin Feifei looked at Tangyu and said somewhat helplessly, "Maybe you're right, but I can't seem to be happy." Facing such things, probably nobody could be happy. Over the years, Lin Feifei had always been tormented by illness.

"Miss Lin, how about we do something crazy just once, maybe it will make you feel a bit better," Tangyu suggested.

Lin Feifei fell silent. His suggestion actually sounded quite tempting, sparking her curiosity towards something novel. Indeed, she felt her own life story was far too mundane. Moved by his suggestion, she suddenly found the courage and said, "Alright, let's do it. But what shall we do?"

Tangyu gave a serene smile, "You'll see in a moment. Follow me, and you'll need to go along with my plan."

"Okay," Lin Feifei agreed readily.

Tangyu led Lin Feifei to a narrow alley where a group of six or seven individuals were playing cards and drinking. Their rough-and-ready attire made it clear they were hoodlums. Tangyu nudged his chin towards them and said, "Miss Lin, tell them 'Catch me if you can, catch me and I'll stay with you tonight'."

"Ahh—" Lin Feifei's eyes widened in shock as she stared at Tangyu. She couldn't believe that Tangyu's idea of doing something crazy was this. This wasn't crazy—it seemed more like trouble-seeking. However, since she had agreed, Lin Feifei hesitated for a moment, then gritted her teeth and said with a reluctant attitude, "Fine, let's say it—who's scared? Especially since you're good at fighting." With that, Lin Feifei stepped out and called out to the group, "Hey, if you're capable, come catch me! Catch me, and I'll stay with you tonight."

Indeed, Lin Feifei's acting talent surpassed Tangyu's by far; her words were filled with allure.

The group of hoodlums turned their attention to Lin Feifei. Soon, their faces bore lewd smiles, and their eyes flashed with lustful gleams as they stood up and approached her. Such an offer was unheard of in a lifetime.

Seeing the six lust-driven hoodlums approaching, Lin Feifei was somewhat stunned, and thought Tangyu should hurry to protect her. But when she turned, she realized Tangyu had run off alone. A wave of fear instantly surged within her, and panic-stricken, she let out a sharp scream and turned to run.

"Hehe, little girl wants to run? Chase her!" The group of hoodlums naturally didn't plan to let Lin Feifei escape easily.

"Damn you, Tangyu, wait for me, you bastard, you've gotten me into this mess," Lin Feifei cursed fiercely through clenched teeth. With the wolves chasing behind, she also mustered all her strength and ran desperately, no longer caring about her appearance.

"Hehe, girl, you can't escape. Just obediently serve us," a thug leered suggestively.

Hearing those lewd laughs and feeling the people almost catching up behind her, Lin Feifei was even more frightened. She finally understood what thrill and frenzy meant.

Tangyu had disappeared without a trace, and at that moment, Lin Feifei felt an utter despair, as if neither heaven nor earth could help her. If she were to be caught by those men, her fate would surely be grim. If her chastity were to be ruined by them, she would rather die. In her heart, Lin Feifei had cursed Tangyu countless times.

She would rather not have this kind of insanity.

"Ah, Tangyu, come out and save me!" Lin Feifei screamed, unable to run any further, her heart felt like it would leap out of her chest. She saw the people almost grabbing her and felt a wave of despair.

But at that moment, a figure stepped out before her; it was an indifferent-looking Tangyu. Seeing Tangyu, Lin Feifei felt like she had grabbed onto a lifeline in her delirious joy; without even waiting for Tangyu to offer a hand, she threw herself at him and grabbed his hand tightly, fearing that he would leave as soon as she let go.

Watching Lin Feifei's actions, Tangyu smiled inwardly, grabbed her hand, and started running. Lin Feifei suddenly felt the wind whistling by her ears, a relieving lightness that was inexplicable, as if an invisible force was propelling her.

They did not stop for a long time until Tangyu finally halted. Lin Feifei looked back anxiously and saw that those men were nowhere in sight. Looking around, she realized they had somehow returned to her neighborhood.

Back home, she was completely safe. Lin Feifei patted her chest and took a deep breath. But lying down, the exhaustion hit her hard, and she lay there breathing heavily, her body nearly soaked with sweat.

After resting for a good while, Lin Feifei raised her head and glared at Tangyu, "You did that on purpose, didn't you? Do you know how dangerous that was? You scared me to death."

Tangyu smiled lightly, "I've always said we should do something crazy. If it's not absolutely thrilling, how can it be considered crazy? Believe me, today's events will be unforgettable for Miss Lin."

Lin Feifei paused, thought about it, and realized Tangyu's words made sense; indeed, she would probably never forget this event.

But still—

Tangyu said, "How do you feel now? Much better, right? You've been repressing yourself for a long time, which is harmful to your body. What happened just now was actually meant for you to release the deep-seated sorrow in your heart. It could help expel a hint of the deeply ingrained grief in your body; combined with my treatment, it will have a better effect. The ultimate Realm of a Doctor is actually to heal the heart."

Lin Feifei stared at Tangyu, stupefied. His actions were not just for seeking thrills but for healing her. Emotionally touched, her feelings for Tangyu unconsciously grew warmer.

"Thank you, I do feel much more relieved and comfortable now. I've never felt this way before; it's truly incredible," Lin Feifei said.

"Don't mention it, you're my patient, and this is what I should do," Tangyu replied.
