{Hee~ Haw~ What a beautiful morning!}
I groan in frustration as bright, bold characters appear in my vision, despite my tightly shut eyes. At the same time, my alarm blares loudly, piercing the peaceful silence.
"DAMMIT!" I shout, slamming my hand down on the alarm clock.
'Sucks to be up this early,' I grumble inwardly, still fighting off the drowsiness that clings to me.
"That brat… Myra's probably already settled in the guest building by now, since Mom said she'd arrive at dawn. I just hope she doesn't show up here in the main house."
With that thought lingering, I reluctantly drag myself out of bed, wash my face, and get dressed. I pull on a red tunic and layer it with a black leather surcoat emblazoned with our family crest.
Once I'm done ready, I head toward the door, but I stop abruptly as someone nearly collides with me.
