Wait, talking about sneaking, I could just speed past them.
Luca thought grinning. But the thought of the speed failing at the last moment when he had reached the guards made his grin melt into a worried frown.
As he stood there pondering on what next to do, Luca didn't want to take the risk, after some moment of pondering, he walked toward the men, they were two beefy security guards, one was bald while the other had a close-cropped brown hair.
"Good afternoon Gentle men" Luca greeted, pocketing his hands in the pocket like a businessman on his way to an interview.
"Same here Sir, how are you doing?" The brown-haired one asked.
"Fine thanks," Luca said sharply while shaking his head slightly.
"So.....?" The bald one asked puzzlingly, Luca had understood, they were asking where he was going.
"I need to buy some things outside," Luca said.
"The doctor's note?" The bald one asked, looking at Luca scrutinizingly.
This will be quite a hassle,
Luca thought.
"They didn't give me, they said I should go" Luca replied while feigning a smile like it's the most natural thing.
"You expect us to believe that?" The bald man asked puzzlingly. The brown-haired one was already losing interest as he was now looking around.
"Yeah, you could let me right? I really wish to go" Luca was starting to get out of ideas in what to say, his sheepish smile now becoming a permanent feature.
"Do we resemble some genie, do you see a kettle around here dude?" The bald one was starting to get irritated.
The brown-haired one approached Luca.
"Hey dude, I'm sorry but you need to get a doctor's note" he explained.
"I get that," Luca said softly, slightly disappointed, and left, he walked to the far side and stood under a big tree.

He thought.
So what next now? I need to find a way out or I would be stuck here.
Many people were entering and leaving, but Luca remained stuck on the hospital grounds. His patient gown remained his sole obstacle. Although nurses were rushing around, no one seemed to glance at him. Perhaps he was thought to be a random patient getting fresh air in the cool afternoon weather, but it would turn into another situation when the doctors came to his room and didn't find him. He knew he had to act fast.
I don't have all day,
he thought, his left hand on his chin, his eyes dancing around the busy area like a ping-pong ball in a heated match.
In a moment Luca heard the sound of a siren, he could guess what was happening, an ambulance was coming, he grinned, and he came up with a plan, as the ambulance was rushing in, he would use the opportunity to escape.
At the sound of the siren, the two guards had cleared the way of people to the emergency room, the gate was opened, and the route was now free, just as the ambulance was driven through the opened gate of the hospital, Luca ran like his life depended on it, he ran past the ambulance side, he was lucky the guards weren't looking, perhaps they thought he had entered into the hospital.
Luca stopped running, he looked back, the hospital now stood afar, he had run quite some distance away from the hospital, the weather was still cool but Luca had the feeling that time was gone, he had gone out early in the morning for haircut only to end up in a hospital.
What an ugly day
He thought.
He brought out his phone, he switched it on, and checked the time,
4:30 pm huh...
He looked around, he wasn't familiar with this place, he had had an accident at Moon Light Avenue, he couldn't possibly be far from there after all it was an emergency, and they had probably called the nearest hospital during the occurrence. But still, he knew he had to check, he couldn't keep wandering around.
And also the fact about his stomach growling, he felt hungry like hadn't eaten for years, Luca couldn't completely probably describe the hunger pang he felt, and the fact he was craving a particular food, meat, he gulped down a large amount of saliva at the thought of it, it was strange to Luca, it wasn't that he was a vegetarian, meat was always part of his diet but this one felt different, like he needed to eat meat, any type of meat.
Meat is also food, let's not think it's weird although it feels weird
Luca thought
But it would be weird if it were raw...
He navigated his phone, opening the map app.
"So this is where I am"
He said, zooming out a particular area on the map app.
"A fast food restaurant is about 40 meters distance from here, Chill N Eat huh, quite a name, whoa! I got lucky, an ATM is beside it"
Luca knew that sooner he would need some cash to board a bus back to the junction of where he lived.
"And the junction over there is the start of Moon Light Avenue," he said, pointing at a distance. "I'm nearer to my street than I thought!"
Luca started walking, passing by hotels, schools, and stores, after a while, he passed by the front of the restaurant, he could smell the scent of different food but the thickest of the scent was that of meat.
Meat!!
His brain rang, Luca knew immediately that it was either related to his acute senses or the hunger he was feeling.
He rushed towards the ATM beside the restaurant, jumping over the road ditch, he climbed over the platform at which the ATM was situated on, covered by a large canopy, eyes of security guards were darting at him.
Perhaps they thought it was unusual for a patient to come to withdraw money.
Luca thought.
Wait till I enter your restaurant to order food then.
He grinned and chuckled.
Reaching the ATM, he realized something.
Damn it!! I don't have my card.
